Helicopter Sightseeing

Hi everyone,

My wife & I are visiting the Faroe Islands in October this year & wanted to go on a helicopter sightseeing tour to take some aerial photos. Neither of us has ever been on a helicopter so this is something that we really want to do. Is it possible to do so or does this option not exist on the islands? If not then what would you recommend as the best commuter route for sightseeing & taking aerial photos?

Apologies if the question has been asked before.

1. Re: Helicopter Sightseeing

There have been a few helicopter threads recently. Check them out. The Faerøer forum isn't that large that posts quickly dissappear...

That said: the helicopters are primarily aimed at locals who depend on them to get from A to B. They're heavily subsidized and can only be booked very short in advance and it's impossible to book same day returns.

The best route would either be from Torshavn to Froðba and then back by ferry or from Torshavn to Klaksvik and back by bus.

Check Atlantic.fo for schedules.
