Cigarettes

I’m currently staying in Sliema and need to bring my son home some cigarettes, is it best to get them in a local shop or the airport ? If local what are the prices and where should I go please 😀

If you buy some in the shops you can put them in your case and then you can also buy them in the airport where they will give you a duty paid bag that you can carry on.

Their is a shop up near the ferry terminal in Sliema that sell them in packs of 200 for about €46.00 depending on the brand if you are nearer the St.Julians end their is a shop in The Bay Street shopping mall doing the same.

Sorry troubling you I’m going to Malta on Tuesday last time I was there 4 years ago the cigarette shop opposite the ferry would only sell to people off the ferry, has this now changed? Thanks

You are not talking about the same ferries .

The ones refered to are the ones that give harbour cruises and short ride over to Valletta .

The one you mean is the duty free shop where the cruise liners come in. .

Which brings me to a question - are restaurants with inside seating smoke-free zones? Cant really avoid it if we're sitting outside but just wondering.... thanx.

Yes , there is no smoking inside . Many places have an outside area , sometimes with a roof , that is a designated smoking place.

A good tobacconist in Sliema is Charles Grech

(The Outlet, not the Bistro) on Windsor Street - just off Tower Road (sea front) between Sliema and St. Julians
