What is the best currency to use CHF or Euro. I would prefer the Euro as I can use elsewhere in Europe

Swiss Francs of course. Many shops accept euros, but only bank notes, and you will get change in Swiss Francs. And a bad exchange rate.

Best is to limit cash use altogether. Credit Cards are widely accepted.

This is Switzerland We are not members of the European Union and we have what is arguably the strongest currency in the world which is the Swiss Franc. use that.

if I came to the UK and used Swiss francs - what would you expect would happen? I probably would not be able to eat... or pay with anything in CHF. Your shops, restaurants etc would want payment in GBP. Same here - use CHF.

Euros are not the currency of many European countries. Czech Republic, Sweden, UK, Denmark, Norway, Belarus, Hungary, Iceland etc,... it's a long list. Switzerland isn't an unusual exception.

You had a perfectly legitimate question and you certainly didn't offend anyone!

When you are here, talk to locals about what it is like to live outside the EU and yet be subject to their laws - with no say in how they are made or what they deal with! Eye-opening for a Brit I would think!

Maybe so, but it doesn't seem to harm your economy or currency.

It does in fact make things incredibly difficult. Our government has had to negotiate with the EU on every separate point - movement of people, degree equivalencies, products etc. Things we manufacture have to meet European standards (even if we think ours are better/higher) if we want to sell them in Europe. It has cost us billions over the last 30 years or so in negotiations and adpating things to their wishes. AND we live on a continual "knife edge" with the EU because if one agreement is cancelled - we pull out of it as an example - then ALL the others collapse.

People in the UK should have thought about that before voting to leave. I would not want us to join the EU but I think it is very silly for a country that is already an EU member to leave the union. The EU is very vindictive...wait and see!
