Piazza Armerina/ Caltagirone or Agrigento from Scicli

We are an extended family of 12 traveling next June. Age range is from 13 to 79 in good health. We plan to spend 2 days in Taormina/Etna before heading to a Villa near Scicli where we will relax for a week and visit Syracuse, baroque towns, beaches...A few of us will continue to Palermo for 3 days. But others will have to return home

My question is if we were to take a day trip from Scicli what are pros/cons of Piazza Armerina/Caltagirone Vs. Agrigento. We will, of course, visit Syracuse and some will see Segesta or Selinunte from Palermo. Difficulty of driving is one factor to consider.

There are knowledgable, helpful posters to this forum. Looking forward to your thoughts.
