I want to find a company who organises holidays with tours in Amalfi Coast for SMALL groups which tours to all the highlights. I'm 50 so would prefer to go with others or similar age if poss.

Do let me know. ANother alternative is to go alone and book in daily tours. But then I have the hassle of getting from A to B independently as def will not be hiring a car. too terrifying to drive on such steep roads!

Hi

Check out package holidays from the UK with TUI, Citalia, Inghams or Saga etc. They go to the Amalfi Coast but the hotel choice is not great. They do excursions.

I don't know when you're going but assuming everything is back to near normal, ferries run to all of the main towns on the AC and you can DIY fairly cheaply.

Some excursions on the AC.

The excursions below are mainly from Sorrento but you might find some from the AC, and hey, Sorrento is not the AC but around the corner in the beautiful Bay of Naples.

Also, you can get a private driver from Naples Airport to your hotel in the AC.

Websites for the area and you might see some suitable tours.

If you do end up going on your own, just know it is a super easy area to get around on by yourself; use the ferries between the villages for the most convenient and fastest way of getting to them

I'm not sure what you would want or need tours of - these are all tiny villages that are nearly completely pedestrian only (roughly 80% pedestrian only with Ravello 100% pedestrian) - so, it is just about walking around in them -

A tour might be a good option if you want to do the Path of the Gods hike - it's not really a hike that should be done when by yourself - It is beautiful but can be pretty challenging in some parts of it

Boat rides are all easily gotten right at the seaside in the villages - various options besides the ferries. Some of the boat rides will take about 10 people and travel along the coast or elsewhere.

Enjoy it whatever you do!

Oh - here's the website where you can see the ferry schedules (they will have more ferries added to the schedules as the season progresses (usually but in pandemic times, not sure what the schedule will look like eventually) - https://www.travelmar.it/en/index

I don't think I'd bother with a tour for the Amalfi Coast unless you would prefer to have company. I suggest you check out Intrepid Travel for small group tours.

From Vietri sul Mare in the east to Positano in the west is 40 kms or 25 miles. I am 20+ years older than you and I travel solo from Oz. I tend to use the local buses from village to village because the bus stop is right outside the apartment I rent. Although the ferry pier is right opposite too. You can do it!

ReinerSue: that tour looks nice. The Naples hotel shown is the Piazza Bellini which is recommended often on the forums and I can vouch for it personally as well. The Amalfi hotel looks like it might be the Marina Riviera. If the price works, it sounds like a nice trip. 2021 is waitlist only, unfortunately, but for future this seems like a good option for ladies who are looking for this sort of thing. Of course, DIY is easy, but I can see wanting to be with a group for the first trip.
