Supermarket or clothes/shoes? There are no supermarkets on Calle San Miguel. However there is a Mercadona close to C San Miguel. However there are other options around Sol Timor.

By 'shopping' most people mean a good look round a variet of shops. If this is you then get the 123 from outside your hotel to Plaza Mayor. you could even catch the train there and go on to Malaga.

Shopping in Torremolinos isn't that rewarding an experience and whatever it once was Calle san Miguel hardly lives up to the concept of a major shopping street. Still the new mayor is working on it and Torremolinos is getting better every day

Yes, Malaga is the place we'd go to have a peruse round the shops. Torremolinos has plenty shops but it's a good excuse to go into Malaga! Fuengirola isn't bad for a wander round either, if you happen to be along that way. Not a lot in Benalmadena, a few round the marina, and probably up by the older part but it depends on what you're looking to buy.

I agree with manzana.

Calle San Miguel used to be a wonderful shopping street.

Especially for shoes made in Spain.

Now of course its like everywhere else with cheap Chinese imports.

I would love to see Torremolinos returning to the way it was with qual.ity shops

There building a vast new extension to plaza mayor as you exit the railway station, already a good area for shopping outlets and opens 9am to 3am.

Malaga is first class if you exit the bus or train at Maria Zambrano station you can commence shopping in the station and then move on to the larios centre and make your way in to the centre moving from one shopping centre or department store to another.

Torremolinos retail centre finished at the end of last century when hundreds of shops closed and the centre lost all its attraction.

The pedestrianisation of the centre area 3 years ago has put huge life back in to the area, overshadowed at the moment by the digging up of the old main road, the passage ways off san Miguel which used to be the heart of retailing in the 70's and 80's are now reopening with an array of different shops and especially some varied and different food and drink offers.

Plaza mayor sucked all the major stores out of the centre and this type of retailing will never return, however small niche shops are replacing with attractive locally made goods, not your tourist rubbish
