One Day Trip to Tagaytay & Taal - Indian Travellers

Just completed my day trip.

Nice trip exept for getting cheated by the locals at Taal Volcano, the place is really nice, but poorly managed by Tourism of Philippines and chances are you will get cheated by the locals from start of the journey(by boat) till the end of the trip.

The view of Taal Crater, Peoples Park Tagaytay city is a nice weekend getaway that you can have from break from the busy metro life.

ITINERARY : (If someone is looking for it.)

There might be better ways to enjoy but with the below itinerary we enjoyed the most and felt a wholesome trip for a day.

In Indian terminology - Its a paisa wasool trip - Per Head Cost 1600 P /- All inclusive (Travel, Toll, Parking Fee, Entry Ticket, Pony, Boat)

11.45 - Started down from the crater (Pony)

Hi there...ur post is really helpful..have a question- Did Mariott arrange the trip for you? If not, would you recommend the tour organiser. We are 2 adults travelling with 2 kids & would like to take care of arrangements door-door.

Your help would be very much appreciated.

What else was on your itinerary in Philippines/

...sorry about your bad experience with the local 'guides'...but it is a beautiful place and im glad you got to enjoy it ...the local population is not like that but there are opportunists that should be monitored and sanctioned by the DOT...

Hi Smitha,

Marriott does have some tie up with the tours agents which charge us in Dollars infact it will be expensive. I planned by self and we got an innova booked from a travel desk at MOA and he was promt enough to be ontime the next day at our hotel. I would suggest you to hire a 5 seater (With Driver) which can accomodate your family and they would pick you up from your place and drop back.

Apart from this i also had some plans for Boracay and Cebu.

- Enjoy your stay over there

Sandeep,

Thanks for your prompt response!

What's MOA? How much did this day trip cost you per person?

MOA = Mall of Asia

Please tell us exactly how you got cheated by the locals?

Its Mall Of Asia, and way we got cheated was over charging for the rides and the Innova driver too joined the locals. But just use of our common sense helped us tackled these petty thief. But you find some nice people too over there. Nothing much to worry.

@ Shen0y

I just saw your trip report (a good 2 years too late!) - thanks for an excellent trip report.

The costs you have mentioned are similar to what we had paid.

We paid an additional 50-100 pesos for the dust mask after boarding the pony (I guess they charged us like the price of water in a desert!) And some for the drinks upon reaching the summit.
