This one was obviously a different experience due to Covid restrictions and curfew. We expected all of those changes and planned accordingly such as making more reservations for restaurants than usual. However, our biggest challenge was with Uber and taxis. We always got one but they were way more expensive than usual. We stayed in Isla Verde but prefer eating in Condado. We payed a lot of extra money to travel to and from dinner a few nights. The restaurant choices in Isla Verde aren’t great for us so we found it worth the extra money.
We met lots of other tourists who were first time visitors and were frustrated with the curfew and other limitations. Clearly many places are understaffed and the lack of availability of Uber and taxis at times was frustrating. Hotels seemed at capacity, so that also increased the frustration as most everything else was operating at reduced capacity.
I’m happy we went and again we knew it would be different than previous trips. I look forward to visiting when PR (and the rest of the world) is back to normal.
