I would like to chime in here. We bought in July of this year (just about 3 weeks ago). And we asked a million questions before purchasing. We were there for over 2 hours. What we were told and what I come to find out is not true. Let me start by saying we loved the Hard Rock PC and would got back in a heartbeat. Actually we are planning on going next year using our weeks with another couple. We also look forward to trying the other resorts, and I am waiting impatiently for the opening of the Cabo location. However, they do mislead you.

What I am not happy about is the misleading use of the "World Weeks" through RCI. We specifically asked if there were any additional maintenance fees, etc to use those weeks, and we were told no. We specifically asked is we could use the world use weeks anywhere, anytime, etc. and we were told yes. Not the case. In order to use the world use weeks, you have to have an RCI membership (first year fee on Legendary, after that you have to pay the yearly fee). Then you have to deposit the weeks with RCI (and pay a fee to deposit weeks) anywhere from 9 months up to 2 years (whatever that means). Then you can attempt to exchange them through the program and pay another fee (exchange fee). Plus the fee for the week and taxes, etc. And if you want all-inclusive its another fee. You can only exchange for a week at a resort that another member has deposited. In addition, there is a bunch of stuff on the website about combining weeks (another fee) so you have more trading power and get better resorts. It's really a bunch of garbage. We are resort people, not hotel people. I think timeshares are good for families looking to find discounted hotel/condo type rooms. Not what I want when I am on vacation. And that is one of things we told the sales people. I want a resort with all the amenities. So your choices are extremely limited through the RCI program. Know that the actual use of these weeks is not anywhere, anytime as we were told. If Legendary is going to partner with a company like RCI, then they need to explain the benefits and make it clear what it is entails. The RCI portion of it was not what we though it to be, despite asking specific questions, and to me that is lying by omission. Now I can use the world use weeks any Legendary resort for no additional fees, other than what it costs for the week.

If you are OK with going to the same 5 resorts for the next 20 years, then its great. The appealing part of this was we could go other places (thus the wording World Use Weeks) using our weeks. Why didn't they say, that in order to use the weeks with RCI you had to do A, B, and C. Because they knew it would have been a deal breaker. If we didn’t specifically ask, then that would be different.

My only hope is over the next 20 years, that they add more resorts, or the program with RCI changes. I would have been happy taking less weeks at just the Legendary resorts. Right now we have 15 World Use Weeks, 5 Match Play (5 @ full price, 5 @ discounted rate) and then another free week upon full payment. So essentially we have 26 weeks all at Legendary, unless I want to pay into RCI.

You hope that these forums can educate people, and help them make their own decision.

NH Bob --- you are part of the reason we chose the HRPC and we were not disappointed with the resort at all. My only disappointment was that we did not go longer. We were only there for 4 nights. Thanks for all your insight and posts.

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE AND MY EXPERIENCE ONLY. YOU CAN TAKE IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, AS I DO WITH MOST OF THE REVIEWS ON HERE. I AM NOT BLAMING ANYONE FOR WHAT I DID. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MY PURCHASE.

We have been to Punta Cana 42 times, not counting vacations to Jamaica, Riviera Maya, Cancun & Aruba just to mention a few. I have visited numerous different resorts but found the quality of food, service and beverages far superior at Palace Resorts & Hard Rocks.

Every person has their own reasons for joining or not joining. All I can say is it works for us. For anyone that does take the tour just remember to ask questions and NEVER make a decision during the meeting. We always vacation for at least two weeks and we go every month after September. Legendary worked for us because we can use a match play week in September and October and the second week is free. We also bought 30 "Silver" weeks at a greatly reduced rate. (About 50%) with if not used for years will be more like 60-65% discount. It just so happens that our son decided on a "Destination" wedding which we are having at the Hard Rock Punta Cana next January. We were able to use these discounted weeks for his guests and because of the number of rooms we are blocking his wedding is free.

I think that in the near future we will buy even more weeks especially if Silver weeks are still available.

We are also able to take advantage of "deals" like the 30% off that Palace Resorts is offering.

We were on vacation for two weeks and took the tour early in our vacation. Sure we were pressured to buy but I decided to wait and discuss it with my wife. They told me the "Deal" would not be available if I waited. I said fine....................if it isn't it isn't. 3 days later we decided to buy and the deal was still available.

nhmarine has it right..its not a timeshare. You are buying into discounted vacation weeks that you can use at any of the Legendary resorts (anytime). However, you can't use the Legendary membership at the Palace resorts, which I wish was an option. Just know what you are signing.

"What have I done"....... my response to self 'after' I bought into the Legendary membership. I can't blame anyone but myself. The Legendary team are young 'full of talk sales kids' that will bend words up to the point of breaking. I'm only posting this to ensure others are much more careful than I was. These memberships will ALWAYS be there, thus DO NOT MAKE A DECISION while vacationing at one of the HR properties. They'll tell you ...."this offer is only good today..........." - so not true. It's called Quota Sales! They make a U.S. car salesman look like the Pope!

Oh my Terp. I just don't see what you are complaining about.

We have been members since they were still Moon Palace. Been very satisfied with the whole package we purchases. Brought many others down with us and sent many others by themselves who all had a great time there. NOT ONE COMPLAINT.....We have saved a boatload with the purchase we made.

I have always been a hesitant shopper. I looked through everything we were offered. Bickered back and forth and got some extras thrown in. And I would do it again in a heart beat. That is now after I believe 6 years......

Wanted to reply to your post and pass this on to people thinking about becoming members. When we joined it was 40K which we received 10 free weeks, 40 match play weeks which works out to 50% off the rate and 30k in resorts credits. We take family so the math was simple at that time, the free weeks left us with almost a 10k positive savings and not even counting the match play weeks. We do travel a lot and let our family use our membership and also some friends. We have a 120 world weeks to exchange to RCI and like St. Martin to trade is about $700 for a week which is cheap. I post this so you can compare what we received compared to what you might be offered in the future. We have had top service from the resorts and if we had a problem simply talking to the general manager has went out of their way to help us. If you can't travel and use the weeks its not for you but we have our children so we let them use the weeks and it a great gift for them.
