Good to know

Clients have to pay US $15 per day to have access to all services and facilities at Barcelo Bavaro Beach.

Casa Club is a commercial and entertainment centre.

*****

Just saw this on the expedia.ca website for this resort. What is this money for? Is it for optional things like seadoos etc?

I would think since you say it's for all services and facilities it would include the gym, pools, kids club and any water sports available to you. Staying in resorts in the US (San Diego, California) they charge a resort fee that will include these items. Not sure what else it would be for!

Well we dont plan to go to t he gym and there are no kids to use those things, so do you have to pay for it if you dont want to use it?

I can't find information on a $15 a day fee anywhere! I even put in a fake booking and nothing came up. But if there is one than you can bet that they will charge everyone the fee regardless of what you use and what you don't. They have no way of monitoring every amenity you use. Where did you see the fee?

It was on the expedite.ca website in the description of the resort itself a bit below the main photo at the top of the page.

Keep in mind I am on a Canadian version of expend.ca and maybe what you see is different. That's why I said I was looking on the .ca page.

Here is the first part of the info about the resort that I see on expedia.ca:

Thanks for sharing. I have only been to this resort for the day so I cannot say for sure. However, it sounds like you will just have to pay the fee regardless of what you intend to use since it says for all services and facilities. I will have to keep my eye out for this on the sites I am trying to book on although I haven't seen anything yet!

I have never seen this anywhere else. My daughter is going to Bavaro in Nov. and she hasn't seen that info on the WestJet site where she booked her trip, we talked about it today.

I'm going to look on other Canadian travel sites and see if I see it anywhere else.

I looked on Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline and the Barcelo website and didn't see it mentioned! Maybe you could email the hotel and ask them directly?

What I did was look at several other hotel sites and didnt see it mentioned! I then went to the Barcelo site and it's not mentioned!

My theory is it's already part of the total price you pay for the package and by mentioning it separately, it's part of disclosure of any fees etc. Their website says all taxes and fees are included.
