Would you prefer the Hyatt Zilara in Punta Cana or the Hyatt Ziva in Cap Cana and why? Thanks!

Hit there. They are actually both in Cap Cana and part of the same complex. Ziva is the family side and Zilara the Adults Only side.

Hi both resorts are in Cap Cans and in the same resort complex. Right next door to each other.

Hyatt Zilara. It's adults only. Also stayed at the location in Cancun and had a good time.

If you stay at AO do you have access to the Ziva side as well?

Going to the side where there are families kind of defeats the purpose of staying at an AO resort. Unless for some reason there was some restaurant on the family side that wasn't on the AO side that you HAD to eat at.

Many resorts that have an AO section provide access to the other sections (family). It is the guest's choice to use those amenities but most enjoy having additional food or bar options. Of course, there are true stand alone AO resorts for those who absolutely do not want any kids around.
