Questions about Luxury Bahia Ambar (formerly Ambar Blue)

We're looking at going to Punta Cana in late January. Couple questions:

1) that time of year is there usually lots of seaweed & sargassum on the beaches?

2) so it is a Luxury class Bahia, yet they claim that, "Premium and/or non-domestic beverages" not included. I thought their Luxury class DID include Premium and imported beverages??

Thanks in advance :-)

May I ask where you read that premium and/or non domestic drinks not included?

On their site, it says "Wide selection of international and premium drinks" are included.

But of course, it states this on their own website for this resort. It states what I posted clearly (same thing copy/pasted on Expedia.) Follow these easy instructions: go to the Bahia website, click Destinations / luxury bahia ambar - Nov 18 / click HOTEL&FLIGHT / type in any airport from and then type in any dates Departing & Returning / click Book Now / now scroll down to About the Resort, under Not Included...5th line down states, "Premium and/or non-domestic beverages."

ARTAQ,

Premium drinks and non-domestic beverages are included in all of the "Luxury" branded resorts as per the information stated in this Bahia resort link:

https:/…

Here is a listing of what is included in the all inclusive and what is at an extra cost for the Ambar, Fantasia & Esmeralda resorts lobby bar's - in the event others are reading this reply I just wanted to mention that the Bavaro, Punta Cana & Turquesa resort’s all inclusive drinks do differ.

Please note that these are only available for Ambar Blue, Ambar Green, Fantasia and Esmeralda guests when they are at the lobby bars of their respective resorts and not when they are at the lobby bar of the Bavaro/Punta Cana or Turquesa resorts - yes you may obtain drinks at all of the other resorts, but a certain brand may be part of the all inclusive at the Ambar, Fantasia or Esmeralda for example, but may not be for guests at the Bavaro, Punta Cana or Turquesa resorts - if you are drinking at the Bavaro, Punta Cana or Turquesa resort’s lobby bar, and you order one of these, even as a guest of the Ambar, Fantasia or Esmeralda resorts, it will be at an extra cost.

The only location throughout the entire resort, where drinks are not included is at the Casino, located in the large shopping & entertainment area, called the Bahia Principe Village - the reason being is that the casino is not owned by the resort itself.

Included in the All Inclusive: (this listing is always subject to change and more brands are regularly being added)

Great help, thanks!

Any info on the sargassum or seagrass in late January, is there typically as much on the beach then as in July thru September? I expect there to be SOME seagrass on beach, just not sure exactly how much to expect that time of year. Thank you! :-)

Artaq.

One can never count on what Mother Nature may do - traditionally there is much less but one never truly knows.

We have been there in the time frames you mentioned as being a bad time for the sea grass and it was just fine the vast majority of the time - the resort is very diligent in clearing it up each and every day it may be required to do so.
