Gran Bahia Principe Room & A La Carte "Request" Information

June 14, 2018

In order to keep this information accurate and up to date, I have revised the information due to changes at the Bahia resort complex. Further updates will be provided after the Luxury Bahia Ambar Blue re-opens on November 1, 2018.

All guests at any of the Bahia resorts in the Punta Cana resort complex (ie: The Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue (currently closed for renovations and will re-open November 1, 2018), The Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green (which will be changing it’s name to the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine on November 1, 2018), The Luxury Bahia Principe Esmeralda, The Luxury Bahia Principe Fantasia, The Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro, The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana and the Grand Bahia Principe Turquesa) may “request" their a la cartes and room location "requests" via email, prior to their arrival. This includes those that have also purchased the Royal Golden upgrade at the Grand Bahia Pricipe Punta Cana resort which, at present, is exclusive to guests from Canada through Air Transat Vacations.

Non Royal Golden room buildings (Jr. Suites) are designated as building numbers 11-19, 36 & 38

Royal Golden Club rooms are designated as building numbers 1-10 & 20, 21, 22 & 24.

Note that email requests or reservations are not required for the main buffets at each resort.

Guests at the Esmeralda, Fantasia and Ambar resorts are entitled to dine at an a la carte each night of their stay.

Guests who have booked the Royal Golden Club upgrade, which is only available with Air Transat Vacations out of Canada (at the Grand Bahia Punta Cana resort) are entitled to 4 a la cartes for a 7 night stay.

Guests who have not booked Royal Golden Club at the Grand Bahia Punta Cana resort are entitled to 3 a la cartes for a 7 night stay.

Pre booked a la cartes may only be changed after your arrival, at the Guest Services department in the main lobby of your resort, should the need arise. Please do not email the resort with “changes” prior to your arrival.

Those guests who do email the resort with “Room” and/or “A la Carte Requests”, should always receive notification of receipt from the resort with 48 hours of submitting your “request”.

Should your email “request” notification to you, from the resort, not be received, send another email “request”. I do suggest that guests bring a hard copy of their email “requests” with them just in the event that they require it for confirmation, on arrival.

Be sure that you have used the specific email address for your resort (please recheck the spelling of the email address used against those contained above), and that you have included your booking number from your Tour Operator.

It is always respectful, that if for some reason you cannot make it to your a la carte reservation any evening, that you do notify the Guest Services department, in order for them to provide someone else with the option of using the available table.

Please remember that, "requests" are just that - a "request", and as such, are always subject to availability at the time of the guest’s arrival – however, the staff will always try their very best to accommodate all guests email “requests”.

Once again, you are a fountain of valuable information. Thank you for taking the time and effort to compile and post these contact emails and overview.

We are heading back to the Ambar (Blue) in late November. This will be helpful. I am looking forward to seeing the improvements and upgrades. Thanks again for you help and knowledge.

Hi John

Thank you for all the information. We are travelling to the Esmeralda on the 26th July 2018. I have just a couple of questions if you don't mind helping.

1) Can I request a room / restaurants now or should I wait until 2 weeks before?

2) When requesting restaurant bookings do I have to email each hotel that has the restaurants that I want eat at or because I'm staying at the Esmeralda I can just email them with all of my requests?

Welcome to the Punta Cana forums.

You are to wait until 14 days prior to your arrival - This is very important basically due to the fact that no matter how early that you may have purchased and fully paid for your vacation package, your tour operator does not notify the resort until approx 14 days ahead of your arrival of your specific details (name, date of arrival etc).

You will only have to send one email for all of your a la Carte “requests”, based on the specific resort that you have booked (Esmeralda), regardless of which a la Carte you desire and which resort it is located at.

I’ve viewed pictures of the rooms and am trying to determine if the rooms have 2 double or 2 full/queen beds. We have 2 small children and I’m trying to figure out how we all will be most comfortable. Suggestions??

Rooms come with one King size or two full size (Double size) beds.

I would suggest a room with two double size beds.
