Just arrived today. Will do my best to answer questions.
Flight was uneventful into punta Cana, immigrations in terminal a was slow at best. Used porters to get bags through customs and really was with the tip money as they bypassed much of the line for us.
Transfer through DAT was spot on and easy peasy. Thanks Ariel.
We are a party of 8 with three rooms (diamond club). One family suite, one swim out, and one presidential one bedroom. Check in was in the main lobby, not in the diamond club. Not what I understood would be the setup but was fine. Had previously sent Multiple emails confirming reservation and requesting rooms to be adjoining or nearby. No reply to emails and we are pretty well separated.
Dinner was at buffet, Grande Marche. Food was certainly plentiful, but quality was hit and miss. Overall grade was 6/10 for dinner. No one went hungry, but will likely not have any more buffet dinners.
Our Butler Daniel seems great. Looking forward to seeing what he can do for us over the next week.
All of our rooms have the musty smell described in other reviews, think this is just to be expected here.
Tonight was Dominican night with many vendors setup to sell their wares. They were pretty obnoxious overall, but easily managed with no thanks, keeping moving and little eye contact.
More to come this week. Let me know what I can help with.
