Hate to do this but, here's a seaweed question

We were in PC in March. Had zero seaweed issues at Dreams PC. Looking into going to PCP in July but just saw a June 2018 picture of it on TA with quite a bit of seaweed. Is this an issue right now all along the PC coast or just in specific areas like Bavaro.

Thank you for your help

Hey, we’ve been to Punta Cana for 4 days now and there’s loads of seaweed everywhere, somewhere more, somewhere less, but it’s pretty much everywhere. We’re still struggling to find a clean beach. It’s our first time here so idk if it’s a seasonal thing, but we didn’t expect it at all and it’s a hige disappointment.

Are you still able to swim in the water due to the seaweed?

Got back from Punta Cana a little over 2 weeks ago and seaweed was an issue at Grand Palladium/TRS Turquesa where we stayed although it's was mostly along the shoreline and not as much in the water. It's my understanding that most resorts in the area were affected. We took an excursion that included a trip to Macao Beach. That beach was spectacular and there was absolutely no seaweed at all there.

We got back Thursday from Iberostar Grand Bavaro - the first few days the seaweed was heavier (mainly just along shoreline, like #3 said), but by Wednesday of last week it was almost completely clear and the water was how we remembered it from our last visits. It changes day to day... but the workers did their best to clean up whatever came ashore. While it wasn't "ideal," it definitely didn't ruin our trip -- We (and many others) still swam in the water (the first two days we just got a few feet out past the seaweed drift that was near the shore, then were mostly in the clear).

Those first few days, the water was rougher and we had yellow flags during the day and red flags by the evening, while on Wednesday it was calmer...not sure if that played into how much was washing up?

Okay, than you. Somewhat reassured. It doesn't seem to be as bad as in the Riviera Maya.
