LGB Esmerelda - Restaurants

Hey guys, so our trip is coming up and we wanted to prebook our restaurants. Would love a bit of help deciding. We are staying at the LBP esmerelda and have 9 restaurant dinners to book. I can see from the app that there is Mikado teppenyaki/a la carte in GBP PC and Maiko teppenyaki/a la carte in GBP Bavaro. Was wondering which is better for the teppenyaki option and which for the a la carte option??

Which of the restaurants would you guys recommend? Also, we will have a toddler with us so the adult only section is a no go for us.

Thanks in advance

asdfgh1,

Please realize that the Bahia App will not permit booking of a la cartes until after your arrival and you are provided an acess code.

The two a la cartes you mentioned above are identical they share the same kitchen and both offer the tepanyaki seating - traditionally, guests with toddlers are not seated at the tepanyaki table - they are seated at the regular dining tables for safety purposes. The Mikado is traditionally designated for guests of the Esmeralda resort, although, if it is fully booked, they will use the Maiko a la carte.

Here are the a la cartes available to you as a guest of the Luxury Bahia Esmeralda having a child under 18 years of age in attendance:

Guests of the Ambar, Fantasia & Esmeralda resorts can dine at an a la carte each night of their stay and may also dine at the same a la carte on more than one occasion. Please note that guests from each resort in the Bahia complex, may only dine at the main buffets of the resort that they are booked into.

Note: Guests of the Fantasia resort and the Esmeralda resort with children, under 18 years of age in attendance, are not permitted to dine at any of the a la cartes located at the adult only Ambar resort or use any of their facilities.

Note: The only guests that may dine at the a la cartes located at the Luxury Bahia Fantasia resort as of May 1, 2017, will be the guests of the Fantasia resort itself. .

Here are the a la cartes available to guests of the Esmeralda, starting with the most popular down to the least popular based on your needs with a small child.

“Garden Grill” - steakhouse - located at the Punta Cana resort

“Arrecife - Brazilian” – located at the Esmeralda resort at the “Arrecife” snack bar – basically the same menu as the “EL Rodizio” a la carte at the Ambar resort - hours are 6pm to 9:15pm

“Bella Italia” - Italian - located at the Esmeralda resort

“Takara” - Asian - located at the Esmeralda resort

“Mikado” - Japanese - located at the Punta Cana resort (designated for Esmeralda guests)

“EL Pescador” – Mediterranean - located at the Punta Cana resort

- IL Capriccio - Italian - located at the Bavaro resort

“Sante Fe” - Tex-Mex - located at the Bavaro resort

“Olas IYII” – BBQ – located at the Bavaro resort

“Los Corales” – Dominican – located at the Turquesa resort

As guests often wish to schedule their a la carte choices around the buffet offerings at the main buffet, (which is not to be overlooked in my opinion), here also, are the main buffet theme nights (which are the same theme at each of the 7 Bahia resorts in the resort complex):

Monday ........ Española

Tuesday ....... Gala night - seafood galore - the most popular night

Wednesday .....Oriental

Thursday ... Italian

Friday ......... Dominicana

Saturday ............... Mexican

Sunday .......... American (Like BBQ - different meats)

The regular assortment of foods are still available, with the emphasis and displays put on the foods relating to the "theme" for that evening. Note that guests may only use the main buffet at the resort that they are booked into.

Each resorts main lobby buffet is open from 6:30pm to 10:00pm for supper.

Here is the link to the resort map so that you can see where these a la cartes are located - refer to the legend at the bottom of the map itself.

resortsmaps.com/map-GrandBahiaPrincipeComple…

Here also is the Bahia dress code: (does not apply to your toddler)

Here is the Bahia resort dress code policy for all of the a la cartes and main buffets - this covers all of the 7 resorts in the complex - with the exception of the "gourmet" a la carte’s called the "Don Pablo", “EL Olivo” which are located at the Luxury Bahia Ambar resort & “Le Gourmet”, located at the Luxury Bahia Fantasia resort. (Note – as of May 1, 2017, Ambar and Esmeralda guests may not dine at the gourmet a la carte at the Fantasia resort called the “Le Gourmet” or have access to any portion of the Luxury Bahia Fantasia resort itself - Fantasia guests may not have children under 18 years of age in attendance when dining at the Don Pablo or EL Olivo or any other a la carte located at the adult only Ambar resorts.)

No bathing-suits or sleeveless shirts or open toed shoes - dress shoes or a nice sandal is acceptable. Dress shorts, long pants, long or short sleeve shirts for men are fine - ladies are good with shorts, capris, dresses, pants and certainly open toed footwear as are the children.

Here is the dress code for the “gourmet” a la carte’s (which are the Don Pablo, EL Olivo & Le Gourmet) - For men, long pants or trousers are acceptable (including jean pants) - shorts or sleeveless shirts are not acceptable - long or short sleeve shirts are acceptable- no open toed shoes are permitted - dress shoes or a nice sandal is fine. For the ladies, any shoe is acceptable, but not swimming sandals - flip flops as they refer to them.

For the buffet, open toed footwear, including flip flops, dress shorts, pants are permitted for all meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner - bathing suits or sleeveless shirts are not permitted.

You will find that many men will wear a pair of kahki long pants to dinner and the ladies very often are dressed in capris or a dress. "

The reservation receipts which guests are provided to confirm their reservations, and which are required to gain entry to the a la cartes, may say something different, however, the above is their actual policy.

I hope this does help you.

Hello John, thank you so much for your reply. It was incredibly helpful. I emailed the hotel a few days ago with our restaurant requests. They replied saying they had made a note of it etc. Going by your response I may have to rearrange my requests regarding the teppanyaki reservation.

Knowing the buffet themes and times is so so helpful to work out when to eat where, particularlary with a little one in mind. I will probably get back in touch with the hotel to request a few changes if possible.

Would you happen to know what is available for the little one to do on the resort? I’m aware of the Bahia scouts but slightly unsure exactly what it entails and age range??

Thank you so so much for your detailed reply, with so much to work out with the little one it’s so helpful that dining arrangements can be sorted out without hassle thanks to you. 😃

asdfgh1,

Thank you for your most thoughtful words.

If you have any changes to make on your a la carte reservation "requests", the resort will not make the changes once you have sent in your email "requests" - you must now wait until you arrive any make any such changes with the Guest Services staff located in the main lobby of the Esmeralda.

It is important for guests to know, that email "requests" for room locations and a la carte "requests" are to be emailed No Sooner than 14 days prior to the guests arrival.

If you review these two links, it will provide you additional information about the resort complex itself (including the Esmeralda) and the entire procedure on emailing the resort with "requests".
