Antarctica

My dream is to hit all the Continents. I heard you can get much better deals on Antarctica cruises by showing up on the dock of the ships. This would make me uneasy but, if this were true it would be worth it. I’m basically just looking to go as quickly & as cheaply as possible. It doesn’t even have to be a cruise. I’m super open. Any ideas from personal experience? TIA

I've seen people in Ushuaia trying to do this, and right now, because of the travel explosion, it's pretty tight on most ships. I would say it's worth trying only if you want to see Argentina and don't care if you make it to Antarctica.

Remember you'd need to be prepared for a long trip, because the smaller boats can take 5 days or even more each way across the Drake.

Thanks… I was just going to Ushuaia & see if I could get on a cruise to Antarctica. Do you know if other people do this? Do you know if tour operators are abundant in Ushuaia? I guess I’m looking for direction from someone who has either done this or knows how to do it.

I try to do the same thing on December 2018 and it was not possible. I spent 4 days in Ushuaia trying everday to get on a ship to Antarctica, but no luck. maybe bc I was there just right before holiday season and it was very crowded and very expensive to stay there as well ended up going to Patagonia insted. Currently I'm trying to book it to go now in December 2022, we will see if I can get any good deals online, that is😄

We just accomplished Traveling to Antarctica and ALL 7 Continents!

Antarctica21 Magellan Explorer

5 Stars ⭐ A++ Trip

After 3 years of cancellations due to Covid our trip to Antarctica finally happened. It was the trip of a Life Time with Antarctica21 Magellan Explorer.

We are World 🌎 Travelers and have now been to ALL 7 Continents after stepping foot on Antarctica at 3:45pm on March 17, 2023 at Orne Harbour Antarctica.

Antarctica21 Expedition Team was exceptional. From Pablo, Frederico, Anais, Hadleigh, Marcos, Ruslan, Ronnie, Kuba, Rodrigo, Daria and Willie. They were informative, professional, funny and we had a great time. We saw amazing wildlife, landscapes and had the best experiences of our lives that we will never forget.

The ship's Captain and crew did an awesome job getting us through Drake Passage safely with 21 Foot waves. Alot of sea sick 🤢 passengers. A True Rite of passage going through Drake Passage 2 Times.

The food was top notch and 5 Star. Jimmy and our other Dining servers were very attentive and had everything you wanted before you asked. Professional and Quick crew.

The Magellan Explorer is a beautiful expedition Vessel. The Balcony was perfect and the room was very large and clean. Reggie, our room attendant kept our room clean and stocked our fridge with soda, wine, beer as well as snacks which were always Free.

The Crew was amazed that we decorated our Cabin door with our Journey to All 7 Continents. They said we were the first to decorate our door since the ship was built 4 years ago. And our door was the talk of the ship.

My better half, Ann has Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer and she is my inspiration. She inspires other people who have cancer that you can Live Life to the fullest and inspire others. She even did the Polar Plunge with me

The presentations, lectures, films were very informative.

The nightly recap before Dinner had free Hors d'oeuvres and alcoholic drinks. Lunch and Dinner always had free soda, wine or beer. And they always finished the wine bottle in your glass Lol.

There were several places onboard to get Tea, Expresso, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Cappuccino and water 24/7 for Free.

Disappointed in the Pictures they provided. The photographer Val was horrible. No photo of my girlfriend for the Polar Plunge which was basically her whole job. 51 people did it yet only about 30 people got a picture. The group photo was not included in the photos so we had to rip it from the video. Barely any pictures of passengers yet we personally were on every excursion, landing and Hike. Photographer was barely anywhere to be found. A measly 300 photos of 91 passengers over 11 days. Definitely a disappointment in this area

We highly recommend Antarctica21 and specifically Magellan Explorer Expedition Vessel for anyone thinking about going to Antarctica.

We have joined 2 Exclusive Clubs in History!

We have Traveled To Antarctica and have been To All 7 Continents.

There have been around 750,000 people that have ever stepped foot on Antarctica according to IAATO.

When it comes to visiting All 7 Continents. They think it’s safe to say that less than 750,000 people that have ever existed in the history of mankind have Been to All 7 Continents.

Think about that and wrap your head around the fact that the Population Reference Bureau estimates that about 107 Billion people have ever lived. And only about 750,000 people have ever been to All 7 Continents.

We have now stepped foot on ANTARCTICA and ALL 7 CONTINENTS

Gregg McKeown and Ann Estrada, Saddle Brook NJ have been to All 7 Continents and over 40 countries
