My checked bags didn’t make the connection on American Airlines and will (hopefully) be delivered to my home tomorrow. I live 100 miles from the airport. Is it expected to tip the person who delivers the bags to your home?
No! No tip is necessary as they are not doing it as a favour to you - delivering it is just part of the job which they are being paid to do.

What are forum guidelines?I appreciate the input! I won’t give a tip since it doesn’t seem expected or appropriate in this situation.
Poster no 10, the “usual American” would not tip the driver who delivers their delayed luggage to their home. Just read the responses. It would be “adding insult to injury” if a traveler whose luggage was delayed were expected to tip the driver — the driver has provided a service to the airline, who engaged him, not to the traveler, who expected to receive his bags at the terminal baggage claim.
Wait. You tip the FedEx and UPS drivers???
Many years ago, Eastern Airlines “lost” wife’s suitcase for a bit, between Tampa and New Orleans. Next day, I got a call, that it would be delivered, early, to our home.
I was surprised that it was hand-delivered my Frank Borman! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Borman
I invited him in for coffee.

Katy, "Wait. You tip the FedEx and UPS drivers???"
NO!!!
Nope wouldn’t occur to me to tip . Airline is fixing their mistake NOT doing me an extra favour !
Hunt, is that true?
He did sack everyone, so maybe there was no-one left for your bag delivery
