I was trying to book a flight in Momondo and I found Major US Carrier. Does anyone knows this company? Is this a company or a group of companies?
There's no airline or group with that name. It sounds like a blind booking where the booking site is not telling you what airline it's with. I've seen those advertised but have never booked one.
it is best to book directly with the US airline not via an Online travel agency
Momondo is just telling you that your ticket will be on some "major"(meaning big) USA airline.
I would NEVER buy that sort of ticket because you won't know which airline or what their rules are regarding checked luggage or seat assignment or anything like that.
It is not a safe way to buy a ticket.
And, it gets down to what "major" means to them.
Could be a legacy carrier, such as United, or maybe they consider Spirit as major?
You will not know, until you buy. As we used to say, back in Mississippi, "a pig in a poke."
I would never buy such, but go the Web site of the airline that I choose.
If the airline name isn't even revealed, then it's definitely not a good idea to book there.
Buying a ticket over a third party for an unspecified airline? You must be joking. I would never consider doing this.
On to be clear, I recommend that you book directly with the airline and avoid a middle man between you and the airline. And I would not appoint an online travel agent acting for and on your behalf.
When I have bought from a "major carrier" it was American.Edited: February 20, 2017, 11:17 pm
It could be any one of these:
Thank you all!
When did they inform you that is was american? And did you have any checked in baggage?
