My dining experience at Modo Mio was amazing in so many ways. I booked online a dinner reservation at Modo Mio for Saturday night on 15 February 2020 for 10 people. At the time of booking, I included a note stating the dinner was for my birthday and requested cushions to sit on if possible. I have a physical disability that involves dwarfism which is why I noted the cushion requirement. Upon arrival my dinner guests and I were immediately ushered to our table. To my pleasant surprise, my online dinner note was read and cushions were provided. Due to it being my birthday, all of my guests and I received a free full glass of sparkling wine. I was also gifted chocolates and a desert dish with a candle in it. The waiter allocated to our table was perfect as he was extremely fast, attentive and calm. The range of meal options were terrific as all guests could choose whether to have a meal from the standard menu or to have 2 courses for $55 / 3 courses for $65. The food itself was delicious and cooked to great mouthwatering satisfaction. The restaurant allowed us to continue dining way beyond the allocated timeframe for dinners. Modo Mio is classy, reasonable and an excellent choice for dining - and are especially considerate of people with disabilities. I highly recommend dining there regardless of occasion, day or time!!!

Modo Mio is just one of a number of restaurants within Perth's Crown complex, all of which provide different dining experiences for both guests in the resort's hotels, and for those visiting from outside whether it is a visit to the theatre, to the casino, or simply for a meal. Therefore, it is advisable to check with each restaurant whether they operate a 'sitting' system and if so, book accordingly to avoid a rushed meal as complained of by some other reviewers. It is also wise to check what sort of cuisine you will be presented with. Those whose aim is to satiate their appetites and leave the restaurant in a bloated state will not be satisfied here. This is top quality food prepared with loving care and artistry, the aim of which is to give the diner a taste-bud experience to be savoured.
On this occasion, and having taken these points into consideration, our party of 12 had booked for 5:45 on a Friday evening. The helpful, friendly and efficient staff greeted us and seated us. Water was immediately provided with a choice between still and sparkling. There was no rush and as usual, on such occasions, there was a lot of catching up and conversation indulged in, during which drinks were ordered. The orders for entree and main dishes were taken.
The entree dishes were all thoroughly enjoyed. In particular, the octopus was of generous proportions and was served with an eggplant caponata the flavour of which was a perfect accompaniment. The duck breast was perfectly cooked and beautifully tender.
Of the mains, the hand-cut tagliotini with prawns, chilli and cherry tomato was an excellent dish and again of generous proportion. The venison medallion was perfectly cooked, tender, and served with beautiful swordbelt mushrooms. Several members of the party opted for the rack of lamb which received great praise for its flavour and tenderness.
For dessert the Italian nougat semifreddo was an undoubted winner, the tiramisu was greatly enjoyed and the cheeseboard with walnuts and fig jam was of generous proportions.
Our party left the restaurant after a relaxed, unhurried two hours. No one felt hungry, and neither did they feel overfilled, It was an excellent dining experience that we all agreed we would need to repeat again at a later date.

I was so looking forward to my sampling this restaurant’s food. I must say the ambience is very nice and the staff were very good, especially our host for the evening, Sarah. She was exemplary and is an asset to this estates she recommended dishes and drinks and was very well versed in the menu and products.
The meals were were nice but although a la carte , for instance , the fresh chicken meal was very very sparse. I mean it was that minimal on the plate it looked like a starter and not a main meal. Maybe, something for the chef and management maybe to look at as you are paying premium prices here too.
Also , I had a side of mixed salad / vegetables and this was disappointing as there was a few lettuce leaves, slices of radish , a few cherry tomatoes and a small piece of carrot. This was very disappointing as for $13 you’d expect more from it and some vegetables too.
Other than that everything was perfect.

Went to Modo Mia for a friends birthday dinner and must say that the food is very overrated. The food was dry, the chicken was undercooked (sent back) and the servings were small. I was thankful enough to have ordered a wood fire pizza which filled me up otherwise I would have gone elsewhere for more food. On a side note, the pizza was very boring, dry and for $32 is totally not worth it.
On the plus side the staff were friendly otherwise the review would have received a 1 out of 5.

Was always a go-to whenever we come to Perth. After trying their panna cotta at our first visit we have searched for one that came close to being quite as good. We took some friends to show them what a nice experience it is to dine there, but mostly so they could taste the delectable dessert that is the panna cotta. The service was quite ordinary, to say the least, which was very surprising as we had not had a bad customer service experience here once. The food was on par, small portions but that’s to be expected when fine dining. Finally, dessert came. Disappointed does not even begin to cover how we were feeling. The once incredible panna cotta with chocolate crumb was now reminiscent of a bathroom tile. It was a flat square with flat circles of ‘mixed berry’ which was basically cut outs of fruit roll-ups. When we questioned if we’d been given the wrong desserts, we were told there was a new chef and this was his take on a famous art piece. If art and bland desserts are your thing then perhaps this is for you, but unfortunately our recent experience has tainted Modo Mio for us.

My partner booked Modo Mio for a 6 pm dinner to enjoy before going to see a show that was currently on at Crown Theatre. The waitress asked us when we arrived if we were going to the show and we advised her yes.
We ordered our usual favourites and were so disappointed. The kingfish for entree - usually fresh and flavoursome, tonight it looked, tasted and had the texture of something that was prepared the night before and left in the fridge for too long. Lacking in all areas of what you would expect from Modo Mio's food.
For mains we had the duck ragu and the prawn tagliolini. The portion sizes were definitely on the smaller size compared to normal. Again, neither of these meals were flavoursome which is not what you expect from this usually high standard Italian restaurant.
Such a shame to see that this has dropped in quality and flavour. We did inform the restaurant at the time of payment and the response was simply that she would let the manager know. No apology or explanation.
We will not be heading back here anytime soon and have actually cancelled the next booking we had for December.

We dined at Modo Mio for dinner on a Monday night and it was quite busy . The service is amazing we didn't like the location our table and they moved us straight away without hesitation . The food was amazingly delicious and came out quickly . But warning if you are a large eater you might want to order a few extra side and or course as the serving sizes are small . My hubby had to order room service when we got back to the room LOL otherwise enjoyed this meal very much

Walk ins on a Tuesday night.... but not any Tuesday. It's the week before Christmas, The Crown hotels are all fully booked out and it seems every Western Australian is out and about, so I'd expect all restaurants within the Crown complex to be pulling out their best game.
We were warmly welcomed & quickly accommodated as walk ins. Our waitress was a delight and service was prompt and efficient. Throughout the attitude and atmosphere made for a lovely night that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Entree was tasty but small. Pastas both seemed quite under-cooked. They were quick to offer replacements, but I must say we were hungry and had scoffed half before coming to realisation that it really wasn't the silky smooth that handmade pasta should be.
We left smiling and happy.... but would we return? Probably not.

We made a booking well in advance for the 26th March 2023 at 8:00PM. We arrived on time and were seated within 5mins.
Approached by a staff menber for drinks & water. We chose sparkling (hold that thought!) & a couple of glasses of wine. Both served promptly.
5 mins later asked if we would like to order.
Ordered two (2) entrees & two (2) mains.
45 mins later one(1) entree arrived! Waited & waited for the second entree & then had to alert a staff member for the second entree. Arrived another 12 mins later. 1st entree cold by this stage. Second entree (Calamari in sauce) was like 'bullets'. Uneatable. Let the staff know accordingly.
Mains arrived and were very poor quality. Tagliatelle pasta with prosciutto was very ordinary for a "5star" location. The Pork rib was heavily marinated making it to rich to consume more than a 1/3 of same. A side of mushrooms were swimming in butter,'warm' & at $24 over priced and poor value.
With sparkling water stiil in our glass the staff then filled same with 'still' water without asking.
At no time did the staff ask us if we would like another drink we had to get their attention and request one more!
Overall a most disappointing & embarrassing experience.
Will never go their again & will let everyone know of our experience at this place.
Have had significantly better Italian food at many Perth suburban restruants than than Modo Mio, Burswood.

Bought the dinner and show package at the crown. The restaurant was modo mio.
The meal was a set menu, very disappointed. Three course meal, all very small potions, will never buy a package again. Better to eat in one of the other outlets at the crown. On the other hand the show was fantastic so was the coffee in the foyer.

The food and ambiance were good but what stood out the service. We had the two course deal and shared an entree and a dessert. This was handled seamlessly without us having to ask for extra cutlery. The drinks service was attentive without being pushy.
The wine list enormous.

We went to another restaurant in the complex two days before celebrating a special occasion, so disappointed.
Decided to go to Modo Mia as we knew it would be good and we weren’t disappointed.
From entry and speaking to the greeter, being shown to our table, food, wine and staff there was not one fault or complaint.
Thank you for everything. We are back in 2 weeks time.

Entree and mains both inedible…. Duck entree and lamb main. The duck I couldn’t cut through with the knife and the lamb was similar. Both were bland. Portions were small which could be forgiven if the flavour was good but sadly this was not the case. Service was excellent by we were bitterly disappointed with the food quality and lack of flavour.

After seeing some mixed reviews, my wife and I were very happy with the quality of food and attentive service at this restaurant.
Great flavours, portion control spot on, and really friendly staff.
Thanks for making our anniversary special!

The restaurant is beautiful but the food is incredibly underwhelming. We started with a few shared entrees and very glad we hadn't ordered anything else at that point. Carpaccio was supposedly wood smoked and served with porcini salt. I think they forgot the salt altogether and there was not even the slighted indication that the meat had been smoked. It was bland, unseasoned, and incredibly small portion. The lightly cured kingfish was also very bland. The squid entree and been poorly cooked and the duck was also under-seasoned and tasteless. Extremely disappointing, but we did enjoy a glass of wine and the fresh bread was the best thing about Modo Mio.
