We had a very nice cappuccino & carrot cake @ this cafe. The cappuccino was well presented and the carrot cake lovely & moist with tasty icing & walnuts. They also had an extensive menu with plenty of outdoor seating. Would recommend this cafe if you are in the Mossy Point area or passing through.

The Mossy Cafe has become a regular stop when visiting the Sourh Coast. Coffee is roasted on site and is superb. The chef and crew serve delicious food with options for all tastes. Whether it's a burger or soul bowl - it's all here. Locally sourced produce is a bonus in this day of supporting local business. If you are looking for a great coffee and bite to eat give The Mossy a go 👍

Under Covid restrictions loved the ability to eat in an outdoors
environment
We had breakfast in the open air. Ordering the food and drink from the table online was unusual, but it worked.
Its a new world.
We enjoyed the breakfast food, drinks , atmosphere and the staff were efficient and friendly.
We will be back sometime.

No better than a quarter pounder with cheese and chips from that big M chain.
Burger had beef, cheese, lettuce, pickles and copious amounts of mustard. The chips were good. Overpriced $22. For a burger then add 10% because it was Sunday (was in very small print on the menu). $62.20 for 2x Cheese Burgers with Chips, 1x small bottle of kombucha and 1x coffee. (Oh and we got charged $1.10 for tomatoe.sauce we didn't order) No table water visible. No social distancing with tables. Cutlery and serviettes on tables not good Covid practices. The service was ordinary the staff not friendly but the food came out quickly.. if you go on a Public Holiday you will be charged 15% on top of the already overpriced prices. Nothing fancy here except the prices.. We won't be back.🤬

Hi Viv1911, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry that this was your experince. We do try to cater to everyones budgets. However, with the current cliamte the way that it is, food costs, staff costs & all our overheads going through the roof, therefore, we need to pass that cost onto our customers. We are in the works to refresh the menu to try reflect these changes and lessen the impact on customers. Hopfully you can give us another go on a weekday or saturday when the 10% isnt in place. Title says it all.
Unimpressed
Waited well over an hour for food an meals were delivered at 10 minute intervals then coffee turns up cold and undrinkable.
Apparently the business is up for sale I hope someone with passion buys it and reinvents it.
Won’t be back.

I hope you do give us another go as i would love to shout you a couple of coffees and show you what the mossy is all about. Did anyone assist you during this time or at least give an explination? Our family of five visited the Mossy Point Cafe twice during our stay on the South Coast. The ordering is very easy, via app, and the food was ok. For the cost we expected a bit better. The eggs were on point, perfectly poached, however hamburgers patties were very thick and dry, the cold brew was very ordinary. On our second visit we ordered three bowls of chips, as a snack. What arrived instead were curly fries. When we told the waiter that is not what we ordered we were told that they ran out of fries. Okkkkkkk.... then take them off the menu and put curly fries instead. At $13 a bowl, its not great. After this there was no further explanation or discussion from kitchen or wait staff. We go to the South Coast every year and def. wont be returning here.

Hi Bec, we are sincerely sorry that you didn’t enjoy your time with us as much as you’d hoped. However I am glad to hear that you found the app easy to use and that our poached eggs were on point. We pride ourselves on our eggs. We use pasture raised eggs from a local supplier and they are definitely a cut above the rest! Your comment about the burger Patties being thick is usually considered a positive by most of our customers, they love the real beef that we use (not sausage meat) and appreciate the generous serving. As for the chips. Unfortunately there is a potato shortage due to the floods and we have been unable to source the chips that we use. We were told by our supplier that we may or may not get chips and we will not be able to rely on getting our usual beer battered chips. Consequently we changed our menu from ‘beer battered chips’ to just ‘chips’. We were not particularly happy with the quality of chips we were receiving, but given the dire shortage we were just happy to receive them at all. Due to the chip shortages the price of chips increased by 30% but we did not pass that onto customers due to the inconsistent quality. All of that aside, we do hope that as supply and staff shortages ease, we will be able to provide you with the standard you expect. Until then, we very much appreciate your business and your understanding. Thank you 🙏🏼

Had a lovely lunch lunch in the sunshine with friends. All of the food we ate was amazing. Easy ordering from QR codes at your table. Food and drink just magically appeared without you having to move! Fantastic spot, fantastic food and fantastic service.

This is a lovely, relaxed cafe with indoor and extensive outdoor seating. Outdoor umbrellas were available on the outdoor tables. The food was fresh and tasty with a number of healthy and interesting options on the menu, as well as traditional items such as burgers and quiches. Great coffee, cakes and slices too. Staff were friendly and efficient and prices were reasonable. The Cafe operated with the COVID rules very effectively and the on-site bathroom was very clean. A quick visit for lunch turned into a leisurely one as it was such a pleasant place to be. 5 stars!

This is a rather quaint cafe that now occupies numerous rooms and a large outdoor area with a variety of seating. It was previously famous for its muffins and from what we saw the muffins are still lovely. Coffee was goood, however, the scrambled eggs we ordered have to be some of the worst we've tasted. The eggs had the consistency of rubber and no flavour and the accompanying avocado came as an over-ripe mash, also with little flavour. We've previously enjoyed breakfast here and suspect the fact that half the ACT was there had something to do with our disappointing breakfasts. Others in our group had vegan breakfasts and seemed quite happy with them. It's probably best to avoid really busy times when the staff are over-stretched. The garden area is a good place to meet up with family or friends.

We visited here for breakfast twice. I’m not really a Breakfast food person so the first time I had an Asian style soup. For $22 it was very small, desperately needed seasoning and the pork balls were like little cannon balls. I added twice as much salt as I usually would. Second time I got the ham, cheese and tomato jaffle. Mistake. It was boring, sliced white bread, flavourless cheese and came in at a whopping $16. That’s not City prices. A cafe in a city wouldn’t dare charge $16 for a standard, not very pleasant jaffle. I’ve been coming here for well over a decade when I’m at the coast and I won’t be coming here again until there’s new management. The prices are crazy and the quality is crap. I’ve given it 2 stars because the tea was nice and the environment is pleasant.

Accidental find but must go! We saw a sign on the road to this cafe and thought we’d have a look. Cute place on a corner block with lots seating under cover and otherwise . Coffee was excellent. Pies and sausage rolls and other baked goods ( mini quiches , wraps etc) all looked delicious but it was the Seoul bowl I went for - delicious ! My husband had eggs bacon and home cooked beans equally good ! We’ll be back

Last week I had lunch at Mossy On Pacific with a friend and the outside venue is quite lovely. However the Vietnamese Pork Salad I ordered was really quite "Ordinary" for $24. Very small amount of pork, not well cooked and the presentation was definably not appealing. I have had a lot of Vietnamese food and this was a very poor representation of a Vietnamese Pork Salad! The menu is quite limited which is disappointing as there is no other choices at that location.

After moving to the coast 6 years ago, I've heard people rave about this place but the few times I've been here, I've found it to be just ok.
Today, on the way home from a couple of days in Sydney for some medical appts, I stopped in for a takeaway coffee. It wasn't until I was back on George Bass drive that I had a sip and realised they had made it with soy milk. The flavour of the soy milk was so overpowering and unpleasant that I had to throw it away.
I had to be in Moruya for a meeting so didn't have a free 15 minutes to go back, but I did call to tell them about the error. The response I got was "oh, but you ordered soy milk". No I did not. If I had, I'm sure you would have charged me for it which you did not. They weren't particularly busy when I stopped in, so I can't really see any explanation for them making such a basic error.
Two day prior, on the way to Sydney, I had grabbed a coffee from Bunnings in Batemans Bay when I had to stop in there (the first time I'd gotten coffee from any Bunnings). It was far nicer then what I got a Mossy Cafe (and significantly cheaper); something I'll definitely remember next time.

Hi pbajsvacr My apologies for the terrible expereince. I do remeber a staff memeber rasing this with me and i will be raising this with our staff and ensuring they read the dockets properly and have a refresher on how to deal with customers over the phone when this happens. I dont expect you to return, however, if you do i would like to shout you a coffee on us to make up for your incorrect coffee & to show you what our coffee tastes like when done correctly. Found our way to this cafe as there are not many other choices in the area. Such a busy place, it was the October long weekend and super busy but good for them. Food was good, I didn’t have anything that I would rave about but that could just be down to my own choices. I tried to stay away from bread choices but a lot of items in the menu were bread based. Ate there twice and would go back to try more options - maybe just not on a long weekend.

Thank you for your feedback. We are currently in the works to change our seasonal menu to suit the summer period. For our summer menu we are going to try and ver away from the heavier, bread dishes and focus on light, fresh and "low carb". We hope to see you soon. Just not on a long weekend haha.

This was a great little find at Mossy Point.
Every table seemed to be occupied by locals and most seemed to know each other. It had a really lovely feel about the place.
My husband really enjoyed his breakfast of bacon and eggs while I found it difficult to find anything I liked on the menu and resorted to raisin toast.
The coffee was divine and I would venture here again for that alone.
