I have visited this cafe many times during my stay in Catanduanes and would happily rate it as the best one! The barista doesn’t mind making my complicated drink order and always greets my family with a smile.

Price is affordable, cozy place to have a cake and coffee with a friend; have board games (they even have sungka!) to play with.

Yesterday, I dropped my wallet in the store without me knowing it until one of the staff texted me that I lost my wallet in the store containing cash, ATM’s, US senior card, drivers license and other very important cards. Today, I got my wallet back without losing anything in it. I must say, aside from the best coffee in this little town of Virac and good food, they have the most honest employees!

This was our first stop from the Virac Airport. Beautiful view from the window of the cafe at the 5th floor. Nice coffee too. Instagramable place.

Since its a coffee shop, I expected more from the taste of the coffee based on their pricing as well. But the coffee was average only. Nevertheless, the ambiance and the beach vibe of the place, as well as the availability of toilet, AC, and WiFi saved the average tasting coffee for me. Good place to cool down and hangout during a hot day in Catanduanes.

The place was really nice, the staff was friendly. But the nachos.. don't ever order. It's lumpia wrapper with ground beef/pork, topped with carbonara sauce. The.oil from the lumpia wrapper (which is supposedly nachos) was very, very oily (which you would expect from a lumpia wrapper when you fry it.

First of all, we appreciate your review about your experience in our restaurant. This make us improve our service and products. But be it known unto you that our ala nachos is the best seller product of Cafe de Au. It is the pioneer nachos in the island. Before Ala Nachos, you can't find any nachos on any menu of Any restaurant in Catanduanes, until we started it. That, we can boast of, because thAt is a fact. Regarding the chips, we know fully that it is not the normal nachos chips, the reason behind? When we started thinking of offering nachos in the island, the first odd that we faced was the availability of nachos chips. It must be ordered from Manila, and storing it, would be another problem because it easily expires and gets "makunat". Given this odd, we used our imagination to use an alternative chips for nachos that can be available all the time, so we came across that what you call "lumpia" wrapper chips. Did you miss the name of the nachos? It is called "Ala" nachos. Ala, means...like... It is "like" nachos. So there it is, we launched it, and it became phenomenal! This is the owner here speaking and I think your reviews title is a bit beyond a tolerable limit. Encouraging people to not buy our product means creating a reason for us to close the business. I have already confronted the cook, and she admitted she compromised the preparation process for a considerable reason. And I have already deAlt it. But we encourage our customers to immediately complain right at the store, because we can refund your money if you were not satisfied by our products. If you encounter a bad response from any of our staff or management, then you have all the freedom to take your rants to social media. Thank you.

Pleasant surroundings and has a limited, but inexpensive menu. One of the few places in Virac a Westerner will feel comfortable in.

Mountain grown arabica beans roast weekly and ground to make your mug of coffe after you order it, can't get better than that! The French toast breakfast is also awesome, fresh local honey, not syrup, for your French toast. Try the ultra thin crust pizza for the best pizza on Catanduanes.

Loooove their brewed coffee! The taste wasn't awfully strong but it has a nice aroma that is sort of relaxing to smell for an early morning sip. Unfortunately, we weren't able to try their food because we had to leave right away for a morning surf. The ambiance is nice, very homey and it's right in the center of Virac so you can just ask around for directions.
Also, try asking the owner for the Peanut Butter they make. it comes in bottles so make sure you buy a take home, my dad has been raving about how good it was till now. Haha

Located in a very accessible area in the heart of Virac, I have witnessed this emerged from it's humble beginnings to what it is today, a favorite hang out for Travelers and barkadas who wants to have their "coffee break". They serve the best-tasting coffee here made from the finest Arabika beans which is perfect to pair with any variations of their Pasta dishes or their Best-selling "Ala Nachos" and Crepes. But hey! they are not limited to serving those kind of snacks alone because they also serve Rice meals. Go Native and try their "Binalot" meals or go Japanese!
You heard me right. They serve the Best Ramen in town, and some variations of Japanese meals served in a Bento box. Cool right? Some of their ingredients and spices are shipped from Japan, which gives their Japanese meals an authentic Japanese taste. Go! try this shop to believe...You might be lucky enough to meet the owner Genesis who is a nice guy, a good conversationalist, a Surfer and a Pastor all rolled into one and engage yourselves in a good chit chat.
