We miss dining in small, stylish restaurants in Japan; at least Kiri brought back very pleasant memories. You must book and be flexible as it is rightfully very popular. Clients often book their next meal at the end of the last. We were warmly and respectfully welcomed and quickly seated and made to feel comfortable in their small dining room. Our party of three decided to share a choice of starters and select a main each; it gave good exposure to the various styles of Japanese cooking and as in Japan means you always leave the table feeling well fed and comfortable; this was no exception. We found the wait staff most attentive; traditionally they do not over service your table so you may need to seek their assistance; it is all very serene. Kiri must be one of Perth's best Japanese style restaurants. We love the opportunity to bring our own wine and corkage is very reasonable as are the overall prices. We are looking forward to our next visit.

What a lovely restaurant! The food was really good, the service impeccable and even the beer came in a frozen glass. I was worried the portions might be too small: they were perfect. A great experience all round. Get the Bento Box!

My family have been dining at Kiri for years. Recently they have had a change of owners and it has definitely improved the overall dining experience now I am able to book online and order on their website. Celebrated a birthday here last night and service was amazing and food was even better. Thank you to all the staff for a memorable night and we will 100% be returning very soon. Definitely recommend the dengaku eggplant and the miso cod is the best in perth.

We had been here regularly and loyally in the past and booked to take some good friends to show them what we always raved about.
We were not aware of the new owners and that the restaurant was now licensed. We asked if we could pay corkage and drink the wine we bought as we weren't notified when we booked and the waiter, ( he may have been the owner, but didn't identify himself), refused after many requests and only said we could sit in the not so nice take away section. We are in the industry and aware of Liquor laws such as: Bring your own (BYO)
In accordance with section 110(6) of the Act a licensee can still allow BYO at their premises once they have a licence. Allowing this and deciding if a corkage fee will be charged is at the licensee's discretion.
There was no consideration for the fact we had bought wine as we always did, that we were polite, that we explained our history, etc. - Other staff were lovely. We noticed that it was was a lot quieter. Don't think we will be back. Shame.

Terrible service, they brought similar salads, not the same one. They didn’t even apologize, they said that since you tried it, you have to pay. Then he came, you say, with your drinks, a fine. Although we ordered drinks. Even though it’s beautiful inside, the waiters are a waste. Before you eat, make sure that your food (and plus under the table) is dirty.

We have been regulars for many many as we live very close and we visited with friends last night for dinner. Firstly I was a little surprised I could get a table two days out from a Friday night albeit outside. When we arrived I could see how quiet it was. We were told it was licensed only and that we couldn’t use our wine, even if paying a corkage. First problem! Normally restaurants are obliging on this. We ordered our semi normal menu but were surprised there were no specials or blackboard menu as we would normally order from inside. Only the general menu which is fine. Our sashimi order for 3 was three serves. Normally one large work just enough for three, and omg expensive. We weren’t able to send one back but have now a takeaway. Other meals were still very good but the vibe has definitely gone. It was always so busy. I think they really should reconsider byo. It’s such a shame but at the prices now we will stick to the occasional takeaway.

I have dined here many times but last night will be my last! The food is no longer the high standard it was before. The "fillet" was tough and no flavour at all The new owner is grumpy and rude. Such a pity it used to be so good.

First visit and won't be the last. Food fresh and delicious Drinks a bit pricey but you can BYO wine which attracts an $8 corkage fee. The menu is comprehensive and the food was authentic. A wonderful dining experience. Easy to recommend.

Me and my wife booked our dinner at 8 pm which was a late dinner for us. The place was small and cosy . Although we booked a seat in the restaurant we decided to eat a table on the pavement near an outdoor gas heater. The egg plant dish pleasantly surprised us with its texture, perfect cooking consistency (cooked through every bit well without being mushy) laced with beautiful ?apple ponzu sauce. Chicken karragge..the coating had some sensational but very subtle flavor that we couldn't ascertain.. was out of this world. Perhaps only in Shinjuku we will get an equal dish! We also had the assorted tempura which my wife praised it as the best she had for some time.

Kiri was recommended to us by several friends and I can see why. Delicious Japanese cuisine. Great menu to choose from. Reservations are definitely recommended as the restaurant is small and extremely popular. Looking forward to our next visit.

Nice date spot in Perth.
One of the best Japanese food in Perth that I've tried .
Beef Tataki, Assorted Sashimi and Grilled Salmon.
Nice wine selection and Japanese beer. YEBISU BLACK.

Always good. Cafe for lunch and the restaurant for dinner. All food cooked fresh and run by husband and wife. Famous for all Japanese but try their chips! The sashimi is excellent and the prawns cooked any method are excellent all meats are good especially the chicken Try the Japanese peas Edamame

Visited with a group of good friends ..we shared a sashimi plate to start and then shared 4 different mains. As usual all of the food, service and ambience was superb. A hidden gem. We brought BYO wine.

We have been twice now with very good friends. This really is a great place; quality is exceptional and prices reasonable. You might have to wait a bit when its busy, but hey when with friends the time is easily filled! Good BYO price as well. Really recommended!
