Wouldn’t reccomend or come back honestly. The sushi train was average and not much of a variety on it we had to order quite a bit of what we wanted.. Overpriced for average sushi.

We are locals and have visited many times before. We visited for dinner and ordered two starters, two mains. My husband's main came before either of our starters. We had to ask for the second starter after we had finished both our main dishes. We...ordered the spicy squid (it wasn't). I ordered the pork ramen which had four slices of pork atop a flavourless broth, a scattering of bean sprouts, and an egg, and about a kilo of noodles. Service was poor, we had to ask for drinks a couple of times. Very disappointing, we won't be returning.More
We saw the line out front and the hustle and bustle inside and initially regretted our booking. We were then led to a seat in a quieter part of restaurant and from then on in it was fantastic. Service was exceptional. Services was impeccable regardless...of how busy it was. Ice Cold Asahis, the most freshest sushi and sashimi, and perfectly cooked gyoza and tempura. Well worth the walk after looking for a park.More
I visited the new Niji Sushi in Hurstville. I was seated for 35 minutes and had eaten and needed water no one had spoken or served us so I ran back to my car to retrieve my water bottle. As we stack our plates to...get ready to go a waiter finally asks if we want any drinks, (we respond no as we’ve finished). Moments later a lady who seems to be of a managing position says we are not allowed to have a drink that hasn’t been purchased from Niji. This is completely fair if the service was to an adequate standard. Half the food was cold (salt and power squid and gyoza’s included) and I was not impressed.More
Omg so good and such great prices. Found this place after many unanswered calls to other sushi trains on Easter Monday! They’re jam packed but still gave great service and i got everything so quickly! $5 for Aburi wagyu beef nigiri!!!! Great wines too! I’ll...be back to try the degustation menu next! Looks phenomenalMore
Stay away from this place………… What you get in lockdown, like if it was easy to Go out and grab food. They don’t care
I was a regular at NIJI for many years ( 5 years+) , then.... the new manager who was once just a server took over. The whole place lost its great service, good quality thing it had going on. too bad- over is a nice...enough guy. She makes you feel like she is doing you a favour to allow you to eat there.!! all attitude- too bad Funny I was at a wedding and met people I did not know , - the topic of NJI came up and ...they said the same thing about the manager and her attitude. No one is going back ...More
The chef’s choice of the dessert platter has always been delicious. This time we scored an even more delectable platter. There was a crème brulee with a nice crusty sugar top. There was a surprise layer of azuki beans on the bottom. It was not...too sugar sweet. Then there was the matcha bombe alaska which was so well done and I am not a fan of matcha. There was also a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. The piece de resistance is the slightly warm lava cake oozing with chocolate sauce. I hope they never take that off the menu. There was a scattering of rose bud meringues, honey comb pieces and strawberries to round it off. Make room for it.More
Soon after the lifting of lockdown, we tried the degustation menu. The 1st 5 courses came in so quick succession there was not enough space on the table. The matching wines were served at random times, not explained and once we had to remind them....I suspect it was to ensure a quick turnover as social distancing meant limited seating. Nevertheless , we were really rushed. The dishes were beautifully presented. The forest mushroom dish was the highlight and we wished it was a bigger serve. The dessert was a chef’s selection of small delights with the lava cake just oozing with chocolate sauce. A few weeks later we came back for the ala carte menu. Obviously, the serves were much bigger. I recommend the crispy miso duck and the seafood tempura. The young man who waited on us was lovely and I cannot fault his service. Would definitely return.More
I order food from this restaurant at least once a week, but could easily eat it every night. Absolutely delicious Japanese food. As a huge sashimi lover, this place has the best variety. Reasonably priced for Japanese food as well. Food is fresh and the...menu is extensive.More
This place is a hidden treat. More of a sashimi fan than sushi and they serve it, fresh and loads of it, and delicious. I like the salmon, tuna and kingfish. I absolutely think raw fish is the best feed. The other Chinese dishes are...delicious. Check out the corn and chicken - a hearty staple for the whole family. My friend had a chicken sushi role and couldn't put it it down. If you're a lover of Chinese food and find yourself in Kingsford or an eastern suburbs local, don't give this place a miss!More
I have heard a lot of good reports about Niji Sushi Bar and as I was in the area this week I decided to see if it lived up to its reputation and went there for lunch. It is located in the heart of Kingsford...and whilst there was ample parking, I think it would depend on the time of day/night. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and professional. As I sat down near the sushi train I was spoilt for choice. The food is delicious and staff are constantly making fresh sushi. It is good value for money. You can also sit at one of the indoor or outdoor tables and choose from an a la carte menu. They are fully licensed and BYO wine. It is good value for money and I would highly recommend it to anyone. They open every day from 12:00 pm to 9:30 pm.More
Have been coming to Niji for the past 8 years. Good sushi train, a la carte menu, great desserts and a wine list. Open midday through to the closing time in the evening, so no need to wait for 5:30-6pm if a very late lunch/early...dinner required. Great service. Recommend.More
A Japanese Sushi restaurant that is always busy - that is a good sign. Bookings are essential. Sushi is of very high quality. Lunch specials are excellent value for money. The service is friendly and efficient. Plenty of street parking in the area but can...be busy on weekends.More
