The reception was very negative, on the way and the stairs to the restaurant lay many leaves and cigarettes butt, looks very unkempt. Then arrived at the restaurant no one from the staff was visible, we had to call several times until someone took care of us. It just doesn't make you feel "welcome" and doesn't correspond to what you would expect from a 14 point Guide Millau restaurant. After that, the care and food was good. Too bad, first impressions matter.

My husband and I had the 5 courses Cocon menu, which started strong with the excellent alpine salmone with truffle and lemon. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the other courses: the chicken tofu soup had no flavor at all, the pork was good and tender, my fish main was extremely bland and lacked salt. Dessert was ok. From a Swiss-Thai restaurants I was expecting stronger flavors.

Delicious fusion food. The Thai chefs really go beyond. The food is absolutely amazing. Sensual and refined for the taste buds. A beautiful synthesis of Asian and European cuisine. Accompanied by amazing wines. Highly recommended.

wonderfull welcoming by the staff. outstanding decoration. Food for Breakfast absolutely amazing. everthing was made fresh; you could order the style of your favorite egg. Prosecco was also included, style of coffee just the way you like it. small and nice but top Quality of food.

Without any doubt this is the number one restaurant in Meisterschwanden. Maybe even for all Argau. At leat one of the best we ever have been to.
The restaurant is part of the Seerose Resort & Spa Hotel. But you can book a table also even if your not a guest. But please make the reservation in advance. Most of the times, especially in the weekend, it’s fully booked and you don’t want to miss it.
They have a terrace outside in the garden were you can have dinner.
The staff is very friendly although sometimes you have to wait a little bit longer because they have to serve inside and outside when the weather allows it.
They offer a few menu’s and those are recommended. The portions are good. We started with the tuna tartare; a beautifull and delicious combination of tuna, mango and avocado with a slightly sharp mayonaise of chili. Second came a coconut cream soup with shrimps, a little bit too salt for us but also tasty. Then came the scallope with fried chilisaus, a little too sharp but then again delicious. The main course was roasted beef with paksoi vegetables and a souce with ginger and soya in it I guess. Very very good. Decoration of the plates is amazing. We skipped the desert and enjoyed another glass of wonderfull Bordeaux wine.
Whenever we will come back to the hotel we definitly will book a table at this superb restaurant. And yes, prices are high but in this case definitely worthwile.

Amazing comfortable with "cocoon" seating, plus traditional open tables. A nice set up for all breakfast needs. Really good coffee brought but he waitresses who seem happy to be working there!
The food was more than suitable as a non meat eater plus non lactose yogurt (awesome) Opens early until 10 Am so time to make it there, and included in the room charge.
You can also sit outside in nice weather on the patio!!

The Restaurant Cocon is an achievement of design style & a symphony of tastes.
The ambiance is highly enjoyable with Cocoon seating, a glorious ceiling, wonderful music and outstanding service.
The food is exceptional and the presentation magnificent!
The vegetarian menu was a real taste excursion. The Chef made special effort to suit vegan preferences, in the pre-starter and desert, and came personally to the table- Thank-you Jonas- your creations were gifts to our tastebuds!
The waitress was excellent -Thank-you Nicola Stephani for making it all so special!
The dinner was awesome with exotic and extraordinary ingredients! I loved all of it!
As for breakfast, this restaurant offers the best buffet with the greatest selection ever, and again with excellent service. Thank you!

Positives first: beautiful venue and interior design. I like the concept of cocoons inside a building. Colour concept and atmosphere are great.
Menu looks innovative at first sight, but then, at a closer look, starts to exude confusion and unnecessary combinations. Nice collections of wines on the wine list.
When the food arrived: they seem to have invested a lot of money in the crockery. Beautiful and unusual plates are in use. But here, this distracts from the food, and does not really support the design of the plating, actually on the contrary: it makes the plating look careless.
I was underwhelmed by what was called Thai salmon carpaccio. Firstly this was not a carpaccio in my view, secondly it was cut haphazardly, lacked elegance and the ginger vinaigrette was weak. The rest of the meal continued down these lines. OK concept, but sub par execution.
I have the impression that the young chef is trying to cook beyond his capabilities, which is a pity as there sure is potential.
On a final note: it is way too hot in the dining room. I agree to not over air condition, but this was torture for both the diner and the staff. I asked the waiter and he answered that this was a common problem and that there was nothing he could do about it. One could at least have opened the doors to let in some evening air...

Cocon is the right name for this restaurant. Staff is very nice, food is excellent. I would recommend fish dishes because they are so fine . Just go and enjoy !!!
