Lunch on the road to Ocam Ocam beach

On our scooter to Ocam Ocam beach we stopped in this small village and this restaurant caught our eye. Quiet, close to the pier with two tables outside. The service is pleasant, they have wifi and the dishes which are written on a slate seem to change regularly. You can eat the chicken and fish curries with your eyes closed! I recommend

We stopped randomly during a scooter ride. We liked the place, but there was no one there. Everything was excellent. The tuna steak was very good and the vegetable curry had lots of flavor. We feasted. It's been a long time since we ate this well in the Philippines

We were here 7 years ago and had a great lunch, my best burger of the trip, my wife's vegetable curry which she loved. Also a very special conversation with the owners Mike and Anne. We took our family here last month, enjoyed visiting with the owner's sister, and loved the food just as much. Saddened to learn of Mike's passing. Highly recommended experience when in Concepcion..

Super clean and cozy accomodation

We met Mike and his friend at the ferry from Mindoro island, had a chat about Busuanga island and soon after we´re sure where to stay. Mike and his wife Ann offer not only great meals from morning to night, but very cozy and super clean accomodation with air con as well. Mike and Ann are so welcoming and friendly with many tips on trips around. Don´t stay at Coron town, it´s awful with crowds of people. Conception, where Mike and Ann´s place is located, is only about 20 km far from there. Get there! In 10 mins away by walking from their place is a beautiful waterfall. And if you´re divers, Mike can arrange a trip with experienced diving school (D Divers) who take you on wreck diving. Moreover, Mike arranged for us a private island hopping with snorkelling on the way which was so amazing! No people around us on the beach, just four of us and our crew on island.😊

Mike lives there now for 13 years and build this nice bar/restaurant with some cabins. Great choice of food with delicious hamburgers, prawns or whatever you like. Good, fresh brewed coffee and juices. Mike and Ann are a friendly couple running the place and make you feel comfortable.

I first reviewed Ann & Mike's in April 2023, having been there (as a walk in) a few times for lunch. (both solo, and with friends) On this trip, i stayed in 1 of the 2 rooms at Ann & Mike's for my 3 week visit, so this review is from the perspective of an in-house guest. THE ACCOMODATION... The vast majority of tourists to Busuanga Island will stay at hotels in/near Coron Town, as i myself did for the first 30+ times i visited the island, and that's fine if you want to be close to all the restaurants and attractions etc, but staying in Coron has it's drawbacks too, namely the traffic and the noise. On this trip, i wanted to stay well away from Coron, somewhere peaceful and quiet, so, knowing that Ann had 2 rooms, i got lucky that she had a room available for my 3 week stay. (booked well in advance). The 2 rooms are pretty much the same as each other, and whilst they are basic, they are perfectly comfortable, for either a single or couple. Each room has a double bed, curtains on the window, and aircon that works great. The rooms have a shower/toilet room which is separate to the bedroom. There is also a verandah outside the rooms with a table and chairs. Unlike most accommodation in Coron, Ann & Mike's is off the main highway, and in a super quiet little st that leads to the Concepcion Pier, so it's essentially a dead end st, and doesn't attract passing traffic. Waking up in the morning, after night 1 at Ann & Mike's, i can honestly say that i've never slept better anywhere, including my own bed at home in Australia ! The difference between staying in Coron, and staying in Concepcion, is immeasurable!!!!!!! THE FOOD.... As mentioned at the outset, i previously reviewed the food at Ann & Mike's 2 years ago, and in short, i see no reason to change those views. The food at Ann & Mike's is all freshly and lovingly cooked by Ann and her sister Lyn. There is no "suspect" pre prepared Bain Marie food at Ann & Mike's. Everything is cooked to order, is delicious, and the serving sizes will keep Westerners very happy ! For the first few nights, i ordered off the menu, but then i gave Ann & Lyn carte blanche as to what i was eating for dinner, such is the faith i have in them. Worth pointing out too that I quickly learned (from my own observations) that it wasn't only in-house guests who ate at Ann & Mike's Restaurant, but guests from other nearby accommodation places went there night after night also. To me, that speaks volumes about the quality of the food at Ann & Mike's. THE SERVICE.... From early morning, both Ann and her sister Lyn work incredibly hard at ensuring that all of their guests (both in-house and walk ins) are looked after, and for me personally, as an in-house guest, i felt very much looked after and valued. Most mornings, whilst still dark, and because i generally wake up early, i'd sit out on the verandah, just soaking up the peace and quiet. When Ann arrived each morning, even before opening up the Restaurant, and knowing i loved my morning coffee, Ann would bring me a pot of coffee without me even asking ! How is that for service ! Ann and Lyn really do go above and beyond for all their guests, and i for one appreciate them both. If island hopping is on your bucket list of things to do on Busuanga Island, Ann can arrange that for you if required, and also prepare your lunches/snacks/drinks for you to take on your island hopping adventure. Much like the Restaurant, it's not just in-house guests who get Ann to arrange day tours, but guests from other nearby accommodation do to ! THE LOCATION.... Ann & Mike's is off the highway, and is less than 100m from Concepcion Pier, which is a great place to watch the magical sunset from before dinner. CONCLUSION.... Having experienced being an in-house guest at Ann & Mikes, there is nowhere else i would even remotely consider staying at on future visits to Busuanga Island. Ann, THANK YOU so very much. What an awesome place !!

Ann & Mikes is a lovely little place to have a meal. Right by the ocean too ! Ann is so welcoming and friendly, and the food is great. They have 2 rooms for rent too, so a stay by the ocean is awesome, and the prices (of both the rooms and food) are really good. I can't imagine anyone not liking their experience at Ann & Mikes. I can't wait to go back yet again !

We arrive in conception and went straight to ann and mike place !! Very good place to chill !! Ann is so sweet and welcoming you !!! Mike give you a lot of advice, I even borrow is motorbike to go check a dive shop ( d divers ) 3 km away !!! All the staff are friendly !!! The food is the best of the best in the village !!! Great great place !! I recommand !!! Youn

My boyfriend and I have just returned from our island hopping trip in the Philippines. We stumbled across Ann & Mike’s bar one day and had the pleasure of meeting Rachelina. Rachelina organized our entire boat trip, packed lunch, snorkels, drinks and even an ice box for the boat. This was truly one of the best days of our holiday, thanks to Rachelina! :) Thank you again, Fleur and Ben

This place rocks! One of the best tuna curries I have ever had, very cheap and nice staff! Location is great, just opposite the Pirates Concepcion Dive Center! Open till 20.00, Concepcion is slow, mostly a scuba-only destination.

As a vegetarian i have struggled to find a tasty meal as most times fried vegetables or omelette have been my options . At Ann and Mikes i had vegetable curry and it was absolutely lovely . Tasty spicy and lots of it . My husband had chicken curry and that was also delicious . Gets our seal of approval 100%.

This is like staying with family

What a wonderful six days Ann and her family provided for us. At no time did it feel like staying in a strange place, it was more like visiting distant relatives. We were three families that took over all 5 rooms with another family accommodated just up the road. Our kids played with Ann’s and her nieces in a safe and happy environment. They catered for our every whim, even cooking new meals not on the menu. Lyn, the Sister, was a master of keeping track of the bills and ensuring all requests were met. Rick Rick, the Brother captained one of the boats that took us to far flung tropical islands and snorkeling spots. The food was fresh and flavour some, the accommodation spotless, the fun levels high and the departure tinged with sadness. A wonderful spot for a quiet stay in Concepcion and to explore the islands.

The food and the stuff here are really nice. Also the Owner Ann is really helpful and can give you a lot of recommendations around Busuanga Island. I can decently recommend the burgers and the fresh calamansi juice.
