We had pulpo at lunch it was very good for first time trying it. Service was good and so was food. Went back for dinner! Difficult with language but young man named Victor was very helpful and waited on us. Had shot of liquor from...owner after dinner. Very pleasant experience while walking the Camino. Fish and padron peppers were excellent.More

Just half way of the stage between Palas and Arzúa, we heard some Spanish pilgrims talking about this spot for pulpo. So we followed their advise and went there. It is huge inside, so do not worry if it looks full. Reasonable prices for a...great pulpo. Fast efficient serviceMore

Don’t be worried about how busy it looks when you first step in, there are lots of tables in the back! It was on the pricy side compared to other pulpo we’ve had, but was by far the best! Perfect seasoning and delicious bread.

I came here on the recommendation of a local while hiking the Camino de Santiago. The octopus was ok, but not the best that I had tried so far. The service was horrible. While I understand that it was a busy time, you should not...have to practically beg for a menu, place an order or even pay.More

Qualifier…didn’t eat the pulpo. Had gambas & bacalao. Gambas were worst I’ve had on the trip and I’ve eaten them 6-7 times. First time to eat bacalao but I knew what to expect. Decently flavorful but I just didn’t want to finish which says a...lot about my food. Service was downright cold or offensive even. Seemed like the older woman who waited on us didn’t want anymore tables. Anyhow, would not return. 65 euro for 3 with one beer, water and a coke.More

I wonder how this place became famous. The service was surly at best. I went with a hiking group. The octopus was fine but nothing special. After all how hard is it to boil an octopus and then pour olive oil and paprika over it....The boiled meat was a cheap cut filled with grisle, fat and bones. One of our group asked for another piece that was edible. The almond cake was stale. This was all rounded of with insipid American coffee. It cost €18 to eat poorly.More

Wanted to eat pulp in Melide, as that is what they are known for and it did not disappoint. The pulpo was very well seasoned and a bit spicy. The rest of the menu is not very extensive, one eats at communal tables which is...nice as most of the people are doing El Camino.More

We were advised to try out this pulperia for lunch while passing through Melide on our way to Arzúa. Simple pulpo and salad. Did. It disappoint. Their bread was also great. Service slightly slow, but expected with the hordes of people walking in.

We were there for snacking. Place is dirty lots of noise staff not smiley. We got "served" or let us say food was thrown at us incl. Coffee which happily was not that hot so I did not get burned.. Not to be recommended. Greasy...food. Nothing fresh - unless frozen food is considered as such 😁 - ratio quality price low....very low....to be avoided.More

Having heard so much about the excellent octopus in Melide, we stopped here. There were a number of locals dining there which is usually a good sign. The octopus was tender, and absent the salt and olive oil, we thought it was bland. Perhaps, it...is an acquired taste. We also ordered salads which were enough for a meal themselves.More

Octopus gallega, potatoes and padron peppers with a bottle of white wine. A classic restaurant and classic dishes. It had been recommended to us, so we went. And it did not disappoint. A must in Melide.
