amazing salle and service, the cadre is on top its gives an impression old classy time with huge garden and perfect service. unfortunately kitchen wasn't in its best days!pour plates and everything frozen or imported.4 stars just for the experience of the dining salle and service
The traditional creole architecture of the house gives its "cachet" to this restaurant; unfortunately, we would expect a nicer atmosphere : the owners didn't make a lot of effort to magnify it.
The amuse bouche was ridiculously basic (cabbage with sweet vinegar and chili?), however...the rest of the lunch was delicious, the meat was well-cooked, but my father's fish tasted weird...not too fresh I think.
In summary : good value for money, but we expected more from a "gastronomic restaurant"More
Set in a beautifully restored 1900 Creole house, you sit on the verandah and enjoy the lovely evening breeze and the beautiful architecture and garden. Service was cordial but not warm, the food was definitely of a bib gourmand level, beautifully presented and portions large...enough to feel full after ordering 3 a al carte items. Would definitely return on our next visit to Reunion. A bit out of the way if you are in St. Gilles but worth the trip.More
We tried to explore the capabilities of the restaurant by chosing a menu surprise.
Service was perfect but unfortunately the kitchen couldn't prove this standard. Highlight was the amuse bouche and the wine accompanying the menu.
We didn't think about excluding snails explicitly from our...menu - so it was our fault that this course was not relly suitable for us. One should expect to get snails in a menu surprise in France....
Filet de beuf was blue and in our opinion this can't be the normal way to serve it without asking.More
