About

Buddha thai cuisine concept came from our love of thai food! having spent time in chiang mai thailand, aping completed a thai cooking course – after which we decided to bring back an alternative cuisine for people to experience and enjoy in siargao. Buddha thai cuisine strives towards being sustainable, healthy and authentic. we grow our produce in-house where possible, or source from a local organic farm. We support local farmers, sustainable agriculture and environmentally friendly products. We avoid plastic where possible – from using stainless steel straws to having a purified water dispenser available. Our head chef chatcha is from bangkok, thailand and has over 18 years of experience in thai cuisine. chatcha spends her time ensuring the local produce we use is as authentic as possible and training our local staff.

Amazing Thai food in Siargao

There are only a handful of places in Gen Luna that I would rush back to and Buddha’s is right up there. I ate there so many times on my trip and nothing disappointed unlike a lot of other places on the island. It’s a hard choice, between the Pad Thai and Massaman curry for their best dish, you’re probably best just going twice and having both!!

We visited as the previous night the restaurant was full. Unfortunately a few dishes were not available the night we went. Ordered veggie curry and veggie skewers. Taste was just ok. Maybe worth another visit as this place does get good reviews.

Best Place In Siargao

One of the best restaurants i've been to on my entire Philippine trip! Not only is the food delicious but the staff is soo friendly and welcoming! The service is top notch (unlike many other places in Siargao) & they have wifi which is a bonus! During our stay in Siargao we came back 4 times and even scheduled surfing with their staff (which was so fun i definitely recommend going with them). To top it off, there is a sweet doberman, reef, who stays at the resto during the day!!! Honestly would recommend a 100%, my only regret was not booking to stay in their resort :)

Great Thai food

The Thai food here didn’t disappoint! I had the pad Thai a couple of times. Definitely order the Asian greens as an entree! We stayed at the Buddha and the rooms were very comfortable!

Nice staff and nice atmosphere. The food was food except the eggrolls, if you like eggrolls don't ordered them ahahah But except it the restaurant was good.

Legit Thai on Siargao!

Truly yummy thai food with fresh veggies in th mix! They host a varied menu by island standards, often have daily specials and offer enough vegetarian and vegan options that it's always on my list of possibilities for lunch/dinner. VEGANS make sure that you clearly explain to waitstaff your diet so that milk and cream and such doesn't wander into your curry.

Same same but very different

The feel is very relaxed and nice, very attentive and polite staff. We ordered a mix from the menu; pork satay skewers, Tom Yum soup and the chicken pad thai. The food was cooked well however definately room for improvement! The pork skewers were juicy and not over cooked but the peanut satay was bland. The chicken pad thai- all elements cooked well but there was a balsamic vinegar or similar taste which took it from a pad thai to something completely different. So not essentially a pad thai. The tom yum soup was ok, again elements cooked well but not authentic. The food overall was not bad but not authentic thai either. From the cost I would expect a little more from the restaurant

Not good at all - Chicken Pad Thai

Unfortunately the chicken pad thai wasn’t even close to the genuine pad Thai. It tasted more like noddles with carrot. Tofu inside smelled like old sponge. We have also ordered pandan lemongrass ice tea - tasted like water, therefore we refused to pay for it. The only plus was Thai tea.

BEST SERVICE & FOOD IN SIARGAO

I've been extending my stay in Siargao since 2 weeks ago because I've been loving the vibe so much and I've been noticing this sign that says "BUDDHA THAI CUISINE" just a few blocks away from my Resort. Went at 8pm-ish for dinner and the place was already packed with people. The Waitress led me to a table for 2 bcause obviously it was just me. So here goes my first review on TripAdvisor. Service: The best service I've experienced in Siargao, the staff spoke English very well and understood my foreign accent. My order was repeated and my Beer was served immediately. Food: I asked the lady for their best sellers, check this out: Som Tam - light and fresh and just the right amount of sour and spice with crunch! Chicken Satay - tender and well marinated, serving was generous with 3 skewers Pork Massaman - so good, the soup was THE BEST! Shrimp Pad Thai - okay so by now I was already full but had to try Pad Thai, of course. Buddha doesn't disappoint! Mango Sticky Rice - sweet, warm and yummy Really impressed with Buddha, I shall return for the famous SURFER's BREAKFAST PLATE and BANANA PANCAKE!

Was disappointed ☹️ with the Tom Yum

I was excited to have our lunch after doing a little farming in the morning. So we ordered the food, the staff were nice and friendly... when the food arrived, i tasted my Tom Yum Soup and it’s a little sweet, and it’s supposed to be sour, so i asked for some kalamansi. I know how to cook this dish very well. There was no kaffir lime leaves, galangga was replaced with just ginger, and the most important one is the cilantro for the aroma and taste! The other dish was the fried thai curry roll—- was just so oily. ☹️ — i had it wrapped for take away and fed it to dogs...

Thank you for the review. I remember this occasion well as I was in the restaurant at that time, sitting at the end of your table. I can assure you 100% that the Tom Yum does have galanga (crushed) and kaffir lime leave (dried); both imported directly from Thailand. We also add ginger which is grown on our farm. I recall you mentioning that you found the Tom Yum sweet but only after you had finished and the waitress (MJ) had asked how your food was. I personally tasted the Tom Yum from that service after you left and it was hot and sour and tasted delicious. I hope if do you visit again we can satisfy your Thai cravings and you enjoy your meal with us.

Great Food

One of my favorite places to eat in Siargao. The ambiance was really nice. The food is delicious. I loved their Pad Thai and fried spring rolls. Their Thai bubble tea was good too. A bit pricey compared to other restaurants but with good food and good service, it is worth it.

Get that freakin' curry!

We tried their specials: pad thai, chicken satay and pork in red curry. All were good but the curry was unforgetable! It was that goooooooooood! I swear by it! Thsi os the beat thai resto in all of siargao. SERIOUSLY. dnt forget to pet the beagle and the doberman who will pass by your table whenever! 😊😊

Please order this item, their version is one of the best I've tried. Nice high ceilings, beautiful foliage, decor, tasteful tropical surroundings. Even better is the food itself. I think this is a Siargao-must.
