Our family of five spent a week staying in Holetown and had heard good things about the Fish Pot. We had also discovered that during the peak winter months when tourism is at it's peak, you need a reservation to eat at the best establishments. So we stopped in to the Fish Pot on our way up to visit the Animal Flower Caves and made a reservation.. The availability was limited but we did manage to get a secure a late reservation for several days out. All good.
We arrived for our appointed time and they ushered us down to a waterfront seating area where we spent about 10 minutes while they got our table ready.
This restaurant is right on the water and has a beautiful view westward so you get lovely late evening light. The dining area is nicely appointed.
I'm constantly amazed by the number of reviewers who are absurdly critical of staff and who complain about the tiniest snafu.
We had an excellent dining experience. The service was good, not great. The food was very good and arrived in a timely manner. Clearly the winter months and tourist trade make delivering a quality eating experience a challenge as places like the Fish Pot are maxed out.
We had a very nice evening out, enjoyed the food and atmosphere and would definitely return.

What an amazing lunch we had! With a picture postcard setting, the interior & terrace are incredibly well designed, oozing modern elegance with informality and comfort. To kick things off my rum punch was served in a really cool jam jar and the service was second to none - Andrew (who we assume is the owner - if he's not he should be!) was incredibly attentive and on the ball at all times. He runs a tight ship and it shows in the quality of service and the high turnaround of tables. The tuna poke salad was a real standout starter, as well as the Lobster with basil butter for a main course and bread and butter pudding for dessert. However in reality every single dish our party ordered was utterly delicious, both in presentation, taste and quality. This is by far our favourite beach lunch we have had in Barbados, and in fact this rates incredibly high in terms of all beach lunches across the globe! Such an idyllic setting, beautifully designed, fantastically run with beautiful food - what else could you ever hope for? We already want to go back for more!!!

There are a number of smart restaurants on the beach front on Barbados, and having tried them all, The Fishpot is our favourite and currently serves the best food. The most northerly, they know that they have to make people want to travel, and the restaurant has a buzz about it that you get when the staff know they are part of something special. On our visits the Market Fish was barracuda on a bed of basmati rice with edamame beans and a spicy red curry cause. Melt in the mouth. The seared scallops, octopus terrine and lobster risotto all were excellent, as were the desserts. On Wednesday's they were offering 50% of all wine bottles which allowed me to drink the Cullen 'Ephraim Clarke' Sauvigon Semillion. On one visit, Cliff Richard was singing with some mates on another table, which shows that those who live on the island know that this is the place to be.

Thanks so much for stopping in. You were lucky enough to have Cliff singing ( impromptu ) that particular night. The other person on his table was Brian Johnson - ACDC front man in later years. And with me stemming from Australia, I must say it was an honour to have them both in our restaurant. 2 Legends with very different musical careers. ( sort of )
Anyhow, again, thanks for finding us and enjoying your meal with us.

Visited the Fish Pot last night 12 night 12th Feb 2020.
Whilst the soup starter was very good the lobster was very much below standard.
The dish was overcooked and chewy and the salad had no dressing so whilst it was fresh it was unappetising and dry.
I did mention the toughness of the lobster to a member of staff which they acknowledged but that was all.
Not one to complain and love to promote good eateries but when you order the most expensive dish it should be spot on.
We had lobster at the Cliff Beach Club earlier in the week and it was succulent and perfectly cooked and a larger portion too.
My friend also had the lobster and hers was also quite tough.
Hope this review helps the restaurant and visitors alike.
Best regards

Not having been able to get booked last year, we decided to book early during our trip this time. We needn’t have bothered. With generally glowing reviews, we were excited to visit. Firstly, our two different cocktails were served in cheap, chunky dollar shop glasses. Great surprise! We then were taken to a very nice table, but in the brighter, not-so-cosy main restaurant. Our starters, which were very nice, took half hour, and the mains took about a further hour to arrive. The lamb shank was cold and dry, but I didn’t complain as I couldn’t be bother to wait a further amount of time. The servers were glum, and in serious need of customer service training. So unlike any other restaurant we visited on our stay. And they started to clear my husband’s plate before I had finished. Very bad “hospitality “ practice. Three times we asked for our water to be topped up - we gave up in the end. The final straw was we were told the Barbados dollar machine wasn’t working, so we had to pay on the US dollar one, which made our meal even more expensive as our exchange rate wasn’t so good. Unbelievable! As we got up and left, we tried to catch the servers eye to bid a courteous farewell and we were blanked. Nice!

Located right on the waterfront near Speightstown, it had a very laid back feel to it being a step down in cost compared to ones we had been to near Holetown. But this does not mean it is not as good. The food quality was excellent and in many ways I found the location better as you could walk out onto the waterfront and has plenty of parking.

We went to the Fish Pot on our last night in Barbados (2 adults 2 children 10, 8). Wow, what a magical setting. We were given a warm welcome by the owner and the service throughout was excellent and truly attentive to our needs.
The large open windows overlooking the beach and sea were like live picture frames and added to the ambiance of the place.
All the dishes served were of excellent quality and the grilled fish of the day will stay with me for a long time. Simply done, perfectly executed.
This is a restaurant without the faff and supposed celeb factor of other eateries on the island - this is old school dinning and hospitality where the location, food and service delver rather than just being a place to be 'seen'. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Conceirge recommended this great beach front with great local food. We had been to the Carribean 13 previous times and look for at least one grilled lobster meal plus we periodically order baked lobster back home too. without a doubt the grilled lobster we were served was tied for the top two we had ever eaten.
On the same trip we also tried another restaurant with 4.5 Tip Advisor rating with great ambiance. Their grilled lobster was excellent and no complaints but my wife and I both agreed the grilled lobster at The Fish Pot was the better.

My partner had been telling me all about the Fish Pot for a while and finally we got to go together with some friends before they flew back home.
The venue is lovely and the staff attentive and friendly but for us the food wasn't up to the standard i was expecting or that which my partner had experienced on other visits.
A starter of jumbo shrimp was actually a few pieces of shrimp in a substantial clump of mainly lettuce which, out of the three of us who ordered it, no one ate. Mains on the whole were good, although one catch of the day was returned due to too many bones ( Gordon Ramsey would've sworn a bit about it to the chef!! ) not whats expected of a restaurant of that caliber .
Based on this i'm not convinced it's worth the extra travel time, taxi fare etc, the same standard, if not better can be had at restaurants just down the road from us in Holetown.
It is a great venue and like i said the staff were great but for us the food just didn't make it a great evenning.

Thanks for letting us know of your experience. We do apologize that we did not live up to your expectation and based on what you have written, perhaps the date of your visit was the last night prior to the current lockdown where we had run out of the shrimp and replaced with pieces of lobster. I do agree with what you have stated and it would have been great if you had let us know of your disappointment on the evening you visited. I am sure we could have made amends if given the opportunity.
Thanks for visiting and we do hope you do try us again when life in Barbados returns to some form of new normal.

We stayed most of the day and enjoyed the rum punch and rose wine before having a big long lunch - everything was perfect. Best ever chicken ceaser i have ever had with large juicy chicken pieces. The Stir fry was also tasty (but served more like a curry with rice on side) but portion size a little small. The Rum & Raisin ice cream is moreish. I cant fault a thing. Loved it and will be back for sure.

It was located on the beach, empty tables but was not seated near the water for some reason. Servers seemed like they were doing you a favor. The food was good but pricey and small portions, eg. only got two very small balls for the crab cakes. Also the main was supposed to come with taco chips but did not and the servers were too cranky to ask about.

Were looking forward to our visit having seen the reviews and popped in to book. Had an attentive greeting from the owner and a lovely seat looking out at the ocean. The food was very flavoursome, though pricey (we've now been eating out for 10 days so can compare).
What let it down was the service. Food was rushed out before we'd even got our drinks, which we kept trying to flag someone down to order, at which point we asked if we could have a bit of bread. But the food was so fast, by the time the bread came we'd finished our meal. So we thought we might enjoy it with another drink, but after 20 minutes, that had failed to turn up so we gave up. Admittedly it was busy but there were plenty of staff and it was quite early. When you are paying top dollar you make an effort to dress for the occasion to enjoy a night out, but this was rushed through in half an hour, only padded out by hanging around for drinks. So overall rather disappointed which is a shame when it is such a lovely venue

We were made to feel so welcome when we walked in. The food was fantastic we ate every bit. The staff are lovely and the owner made us feel very loved to have spent our time there. The price of food and drink is very good value for money and the karaoke had us all giggling with fun for our first family holiday we will definitely be coming there again

November 2021 saw a trip to Barbados for our Honeymoon. With a number of great dining choices available, we wanted to sample them all!
It's fair to say that The Fish Pot was one of our favourites!
We booked online for a few days in advance, but received an email stating that the chosen table was no longer available, so we were offered an alternative date and time that offered us the seating area we'd like.
Upon arrival we were swiftly shown to our table and had our drinks order taken whilst we looked over the menu.
My wife chose Scallops for starter whilst I took the calamari. The calamari was good, but the scallops were just divine!
For mains I opted for the lobster, which, was just cooked to perfection! Whilst my wife had a beautiful chicken curry!
We both got the same desert, a gran marnier creme brulee, which was terrific!
The setting was absolutely stunning. We arrived a little after sunset, but being on the beachfront and hearing the waves lap was a perfect soundtrack to a romantic dinner.
The menu was really well priced, offering 3 courses for $125BBD which we felt offered exceptional value for money.
The service was very good too! With our waters being topped up regularly, and when we ordered additional drinks these came very promptly.
We will definitely return the next time we're on the island!!

This was our third visit to the Fish Pot, we visited twice last year with mixed feelings, and once this time around.
We had an email from Andrew and the Management Team, asking for feedback, this is my reply...........
Dear Andrew and team
We didn't have the greatest experience last night.
Table was superb, but the meal took forever to arrive, starter must have take 40 mins. A table that arrived after us, had their starter and were being served mains by the time ours arrived. We had no explanation or apology for this (although the starter was delicious).
My main (steak) I asked to be served rare, and with fries. When it arrived with rice, I requested it be changed, only to be told by my server that I had ordered rice. Mistakes do happen, but she didn't handle it well. The steak was cooked perfectly, but was stone cold.
My husband ordered the blackened fish of the day, this was okay, but not as good as the barracuda we have at Bristol beach for half the price.
This is our 3rd visit to you (we came twice last year), and we notice the staff appear to be "painting by numbers". Meaning that they don't engage with customers in the normal, friendly, Bajan way, but rather, they do their job with the little interest in the customer experience.
You have a fabulous location, and the food can be very good, but unfortunately this wasn't our experience last night.
To date I have had no response.
Looking at Management response to 'Moondance' and other reviews (which I think damn rude), I can see that problems at the restaurant clearly come from the top.

Thanks for your email and for letting us know of your unsatisfactory dining experience.
We take this opportunity to apologise.
We all make mistakes and if our staff did not deliver and by extension The Fish Pot did not deliver a great dining experience then again, we are sorry.
