We decided that for our last night in Barbados we’d return to the premium restaurant that we’d enjoyed most in St Lawrence Gap, and Harlequin got the vote. This was after having tried Castaway, Cocktail Kitchen, Cafe Sol (recommended), Mimosa and others. The ambience was relaxed and the surroundings comfortable with a happy buzz about the place. The service was good and the food excellent with a varied menu (including drinks), which included genuine choices for my veggie wife. Like every premium restaurant in Barbados it’s not cheap but we felt we got good value compared to equivalent restaurants. It was always pretty full though so I’d recommend booking if only a couple of days in advance.

We went 3x we loved it so much. First time was for apps, ceaser salad and calamari, and glass white wine. We split both apps and the chef actually pre-split onto two plates (most restaurants gave us one dish and we had to split ourselves). Service is outstanding, and ambiance is beautiful. $55 Bajan ($35 Canadian, a bit pricey but worth it). Second time was Christmas Eve. Even though they were no openings for dinner, we arrived at 6pm and asked if there was availability. They gave us a table provided we left by 8pm. Deal!! Dinner we split feta salad, and catch of the day (red snapper). Again the chef split our food. I had a glass of white wine. Another excellent meal. $70 Bajan ($49 Canadian). Christmas Day dinner we went back because our reservation at another restaurant got cancelled. We explained to Harlequin and asked if they had a table (knowing they were fully booked), and miracle of miracles they did. We ordered 2 apps, calamari, and feta salad, and catch of the day (mahi mahi). Again the chef split all the dishes for us. And exceptional service by our server they just are so attentive! With 2 glasses of wine bill was $140 Bajan ($100 Canadian, expensive and worth it). I want to go back to Barbardos just to eat at Harlequin again!!

Had 3 meals here during our holiday and went back not only for the beautiful food but due to our waitress extraordinaire Angela Haynes who couldn't have done more to make sure we had a brilliant time. The food is reasonably priced with loads of choice, the fish pie was my favourite!! Good sized portions and a lovely range of cocktails. Thanks to Mackintosh the manager for making our wedding anniversary meal so special, surprising us by decorating our table and making sure lovely Angela was looking after us. I definitely recommend Harlequin for a fabulous meal in The Gap

Ate here twice on our holiday we were lucky to get a table the first time so booked for valentines night . It is a very busy restaurant the owner greeted us and took us to our table. We had very good service the food came out hot and on hot plates, lovely cooked fish, satisfying portions ate in a lively atmosphere but not overly noisy you can't talk to each other . We really enjoyed our meal.

Recommended by the bartender at our hotel we tried to get in one night without reservations and they were full so we promptly made reservations for the next night. A festively designed dining area made it instantly appealing, you just felt like you were on vacation. The food is delicious and the service was great, the owner even stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves, a nice touch. Highly recommended, make reservations, they were busy every time we walked by!

Located in the popular St. Lawrence Gap, you will enjoy great tasting dishes and first class service from a professional and friendly staff while seated on a patio raised above street level. You never feel rushed and can enjoy fresh warm crusty rolls while waiting for your order as you sip your drinks. The menu covers seafood, pork, poultry, beef and vegetarian dishes as well as Barbadian favorites, flying fish and bread pudding. Whatever I choose each time I come here has always been excellent. Colorful umbrellas and napkins add to the overall "fun" atmosphere of Harlequin.

We came here after being recommended however we were left disappointed. I wanted to experience some Caribbean food and decided to go for the Caribbean Hot Pot but was very disappointed. It tasted like a stew I would make back home in England, additionally my husband had the house chicken dish which he found also disappointing. We were asked if we wanted bread rolls to which we said yes however sadly we did not receive these. We feel the meal was over priced and ended up buying street food on the way home as we were still hungry. We do not like leaving negative reviews but we felt we need to be honest to other trip advisor users.

Ate here a couple of times last year and really thought it was good so went back again this year. If anything it seems to be even better. The ambience and atmosphere are excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is to die for. It is one of those restaurants that you have to go to and after the first visit it will keep drawing you back. It doesn’t matter what type of food you like it is all fantastic, freshly prepared and elegantly served. Just one problem, if you haven’t made a reservation you are unlikely to get a table as it is extremely popular.

We came there without reservation. Manager was so kind to arrange table for us in 15 minutes wait. Our waitress was very attentive and food, omg the food was delicious. Poached mahi mahi with shrimps and baraccuda. Next day we came again, also without reservation and again, they put up the table for us. And restaurant looks sooo cool, somebody put a lot of effort in decorating the place.

First time here so was pleasantly surprised of the ambience of this lovely restaurant. The coconut shrimp was superbly cooked and we had chicken ceaser salad too and totaly stuffed washed down with a rum cocktail . Bit more expensive than the usual meal this week but well worth it. Great evening thanks .

We went here on a recommendation from one of the staff at our hotel and weren’t disappointed. The restaurant was busy and we hadn’t booked but were shown to a table which we were happy with. From the start all of the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The food was really very good and we were asked if we wanted each course as it became available or did we want to take our time and have a break between each course. We opted for the former and for us the time between each course was perfect. Not rushed but not drawn out either. There were a couple of birthday celebrations going on and I would suggest letting the staff know if this applies to someone in your party. They did do something to make it special. Highly recommended.

Very dated, everything about this place is dated and old fashioned. The menu, the decor, the crockery and cutlery. The whole place was like going back to 1990. The food was very average, nothing special at all. We were very disappointed after reading reviews, we expected a much higher standard of restaurant. We have eaten in many restaurants this week in the island, and this was by far the poorest meal we have had. The bill was as high as one of the very nice restaurants we ate in though. One thing about the place was the staff, they were very polite and friendly. Will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend.

We have recently returned from Barbados and, having visited Harlequin during previous holidays, we were very keen that the restaurant would be open during these difficult times. Not only was it open, but it still offers the same great food and the same great service despite the current COVID restrictions. Whether you are dealing with Keith the Owner, Tosh, his very able Assistant or any of the waiting staff the attention to detail and customer service is excellent. They can't do enough for you. The food is of a high standard with healthy portions. It covers all tastes and offers really good value for money. There are higher priced dishes but the menu also offers many lower priced options. The setting is very pretty and the restaurant is spotlessly clean. We enjoyed many nights there and are lucky enough to be returning to Barbados in November and Harlequin will be the first booking we make.

The restaurant was always busy and had good reviews so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed, staff were attentive and the food was great, especially the king fish creole. Definitely the best value restaurant in The Gap. 218BD$ for shared starter, main meals and a bottle of wine.

We visited this restaurant for the 6 th year. The food never disappoints, particularly the Caribbean Chicken! Keith and his team can’t do enough for their guests and they make everyone feel special. Can’t recommend highly enough and would definitely return. You usually need to book at busy times!
