A Tasca do Luís is a fantastic gastronomic surprise. Delicious Portuguese food within a familiar environment. One can eat the tasteful traditional dishes from Portugal, from the singular chorizo to delicious baked duck rice. Food is elegant, very well cooked, perfect presentation and comes in...large portions. The owner is sympathetic and helpful. Warm staff, despite the limits of the place. A regular wine list and good beer complement the meal. A Tasca do Luís offers a pleasant experience, and it is a highly recommended restaurant.More

A Tasca do Luis may be new to the St. Lazarus food scene but they are by no means a new name in Macau, having long been a popular Portuguese restaurant in Taipa Village. They relocated last year to this new location on Rua da...Colina near Jardim Vasco da Gama and around 5-6 minutes walk from the World Heritage area. You'll find two floors of seating area at A Tasca do Luis, a menu of expected Portuguese dishes and more locals dining here than tourists. Its a convenient place to try if staying at places like Royal Macau or Guia Hotel or if passing through this area and in the mood for some good Portuguese food. Opening hours are 12pm to 9pm daily.More

A Tasca do Luis was one of the well-known and established Portuguese restaurants in Taipa Village for many years. Last year they decided to move to a new location on the peninsula. Now you will find them at Rua da Colina, just off Rua do...Campo in between the Historic Centre of Macau and Jardim Vasco da Gama. Opening hours are 12pm to 9pm daily (closed on Sundays). This is a place I've enjoyed over the years and am glad to see them closer to the main sightseeing areas around the city centre. We need more good Portuguese places on the peninsula within short walking distance to where most tourists spend their time visiting the World Heritage attractions. During a recent dinner, I ordered their Arroz de Pato, which is a generous portion and tastes pretty good. The rice is a bit oilier than I like but has a good duck fat flavour. It is baked well and includes a good amount of duck meat. They offer up homemade chilli sauce that you can add if you want to kick up the taste and flavours a bit. I like to add just a pinch to the duck rice at A Tasca do Luis, it makes it taste just great. Menu includes a wide and expected range of traditional Portuguese dishes. Prices are reasonable and what you expect for casual Portuguese cafes in Macau. Overall, this is a good option for those who want something tasty and authentic yet won't break your wallet as well. I look forward to my next meal at A Tasca do Luis.More

Probably the best Portuguese restaurant in Macau, not only because of their yummy food but the way they treat their customers. After settling in our seats/table, one European-looking came to up to us, shook our hands and started chatting. He asked us where we came...from (which was a bit confusing for us since we are Filipinos but living in other countries, my cousins are from Hong Kong and I, from Singapore) so my cousin said he's from HK to which the guy replied, "No, you don't look like one from HK" then sent one lady who he said is one of his best cooks from the Philippines. Apparently, the guy owns this restaurant. The Filipina lady talked to us and recommended dishes - we got Tasca Chicken (which resembles our Filipino dish afritada), grilled fish and Tasca fried rice. The dishes looked ordinary but tasted extraordinary. The photos in the menu were misleading though.. Haha.. Because we all thought each dish was good for only one person but servings were so huuuuge we were so full even if we only ordered 3 dishes. Dining here is best if you are a group of many people. My cousin also got a bottle of their house pour (white wine) which he said is more like Chardonnay. The owner kept checking on us if we are okay and made sure we really are okay and enjoying our food.  After the dinner they served complimentary dessert wine - which I don't really drink but what the heck it was free and a really good gesture from the restaurant.  Total Cost? HKD 700+  Not tol bad for a verrrryyy full tummy, good company, great atmosphere and excellent customer service. I am recommending this restaurant to anyone looking to experience authentic Portuguese food in Taipa (Macau).More

Had dinner here on a wet stormy night. We put ourselves into Luis' hands and allowed him to tell us what to eat and what wine to have with it. Had a little appetiser of sausage, the cod and potato bake, a rice dish with...seafood which was very good and the pork. Very nice red to go with it along with sparkling water, some Portuguese beer and a bottle of dessert wine provided by Luis to go with it. We had to stay late due to the rain but Luis wrangled a taxi for us so we could get back to the hotel without being drenched. A great homely and welcoming little place and really good fun. Would highly recommend.More

I found this restaurant much better than the popular o santos. O santos is much more popular because of it location in the tourist spot of rua da cunha even though the food is just okay. The food here is so much better, I’ll say...authentic Portuguese food. The bacalhau (fried cod fish with potato) taste much better than o santos which to me the bacalhau in o santos was just fried mashed potatoes (can’t barely taste the cod fish) Octopus salad is very nice. Sour, tangy and aromatic with a touch of coriander. I never thought of coriander/cilantro being used in Portuguese cuisine. Octopus is very tender, much tender than you can find in Japanese restaurant. Pork steak with rice is very nice. Pork steak served with white rice, salad, fried potatoes and fried egg. The popular clams in garlic is so fresh and so good. A must to try when visiting this restaurant. Sadly the popular baked duck rice is sold out so I tried oven pork knuckle. The pork knuckle is just okay, a bit bland but the pork knuckle is tender even though it needs more spices. Not to forget the complimentary dessert wine after meal. We were served complimentary Portuguese dessert wine after meal. Overall, a nice touch that I can’t find in any restaurant all over Asia. In conclusion, a very nice and superb food. Will surely come back when visiting Macau.More

Went for new year’s eve dinner with my family. Love the food and the service. We ordered the Pasteis de bacalhau, pork knuckle, pork steak with rice, octopus salad & clams in garlic sauce. Everything is so good and we love the octopus salad because...it was so tender. We didn’t get the chance to try the duck rice because it was already sold out. The owner is there and the service is amazing. We got the dessert wine after and you can add more if you want. This restaurant is better than O Santos restaurant: the food, the service, portion is bigger and pricier. Definitely will go back here if we visit Macau in the future.More

Went for dinner. The menu is not big, but enough variety. Portions are big and food is tasty, however not exciting. it's "what you see is what you get" no wow effect. The sangria is excellent. In contrast with many other places, the owner of...the place Luis, enhances the famous drink with sweet wine and port. Very tasty. The dessert is only one available, which is the serradura. Very good and can't be better. Price value: slightly expensive considering the embience of the place (very casual) and the ingredients used. Overall experience: very good. Worth to try.More

The food tastes nice. The number of local Portuguese customers is more than that of tourists. Price is not cheap, but the portion is large. Get some advice on the food portion before you order.
