We actually stayed in the Cottages which are part of the complex and therefore we tried dinner and breakfast in the Saki restaurant. Both wasn't really great food and for the price and way to get up there probably not worth it the visit. Staff...was ok, but not overwhelming friendlyMore
But it is closed a lot, and a long drive up the mountain. I;ve been on Siquijor for over a year and my second visit to Saki's was a complete bummer. Instead of fillet she used chicken necks and chopped up legs in the dish...I ordered, so quality has gone down, prices have not. When you mention that you see another side of the owner, she gets very rude.
Nice voews though and lovely cottages. It is far away from daily Island life, high up a mountain. You need your own transport when you stay there.More
A little bit difficult to find (and a little scary getting down the hill on our bikes in the rain) but gorgeous views, lovely atmosphere and good food. The sushi set was nice as you put it together yourself which was fun and very good...coffee/house wine. Reasonably priced and a good way to spend a rainy afternoon!!More
One of the great pleasures of travel is discovering something unexpected, something that should not really be there.
This is such a place. 100sq m of Japan in a middle of Siquijor.
Go visit. You won't regret it. And the views are great.
We stayed at the Hillside resort for three nights and had a chance to enjoy Yoshimi's cooking a few times. If you love Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese food you'll find plenty to choose from. All the dishes we tried were delicious, especially fish, and we also...got some amazing papaya from Yoshimi's garden for desert.
The portions are really generous, so make sure you can finish your plate, because Yoshimi's puts her heart into her cooking as she always cooks herself when she is there. She is also amazing company if you feel like socializing.
Be prepared for quite a ride up the hill though but the view from the restaurant terrace and food is worth itMore
