Would highly recommend. I rang the day before to ask whether they had a table for 16 people the man on the phone was very pleasant and was able to accommodate us even asked what choice of meat we would prefer so there was more than enough for us. We all arrived at 3.30 we was seated straight away in our own cosy little seating which was great and was served by two friendly ladies. The starters were all amazing and the mains was delicious. We didn’t have desserts but the kids loved there’s.also at the end it was very easy to pay for bill as everyone just went up and said what they had eaten and paid which avoided confusion with splitting etc. Thank you so much would defo be visiting again when we next come to the area thanks a lot. Called in mid afternoon for drinks and a meal which was great value. My wife opted for the light bites and myself for a larger meal. Both were very tasty and filling with plenty of fresh vegetables. The service continues to be attentive and friendly and the owner Dan will always find time to have a chat and make sure everything is o.k. The restaurant was very clean and at just the right temperature. The Guinness was excellent and went down smoothly. Top marks all around. Terry and Ann.

After discovering that the Trefnant were doing takeaways during lockdown, we ordered steak burgers with all the trimmings. Booked our timeslot and collection was ready right on time. The meals came packaged really well and were still piping hot when we got home. On discovering that our desserts were missing, a quick message resulted in them being delivered to our door before we had even finished our main course. Great service and very enjoyable food!

We visited the other night after hearing good reviews. It was fairly busy and only one waitress who was doing her best. It took about 15 minutes for our drinks order to be taken and a further 15/20 minutes for us to receive our drinks. Starters were ok, but mains were very dry. We were sat right next to the kitchen which was open for everyone to see we could see that my partner's burger had been sat under the heat light for about 15 minutes and when it came out it was very dry. My main was also very dry and I could not finish it due to this. We weren't offered any sauces or salt and vinegar. My partner ordered another drink which was forgotten about and he went to get it himself and waited a good 10 minutes to be served. If it wasnt in the eat out help out deal I would not have paid full price for our meal, very disappointed and would not rush back in a hurry. Kitchen staff were complaining about the waitress who made a couple of mistakes but they should concentrate more on their job and the quality of their food. Disappointed.

Called in for lunch today for the first time and probably the last. The Waitress was wonderfull but up against it being on her own. I ordered the pork chops from the main menu and the wife ordered the steak burger. It was a very long wait before the food came out and we could see the burger left under the service hot plate for ages until my chop was ready and so the brioche roll was dry and hard. My chop was smothered in pepper and mushroom sauce that I didn't order only to be told they had made the wrong meal for me . All in all very disappointing.

Having visited here on 29/8/21 for the first time for Sunday lunch we arrived at 130 yes 30 mins early but we was still accommodated . We was seated in the middle of both doorways yes it was a nice day but my son got chilly so had to run back to the car to get his hoodie not good when your in a pub restaurants to wrap up. We sat a hour waiting for our food my son has special needs so it was a little long to wait also for us But we traced this up and the food came 2 lamb dinners and fish fingers and chips . The food was very poor it was was just about warm. We asked for the bill as there was other complaints and I explained this is not satisfactory the waitress agreed we did find out the head chef didn't turn in so it was left to the others . Granted they gave us 50% of the bill due to this . But sadly after this visit we will not be returning.

Really disappointed unfortunately!! Very slow service, tiny Sunday lunch portion, pub and toilets in desperate need of some TLC and staff not wearing masks!! 7 of us visited last Sunday, only 2 of us wanted starters. I ordered the chicken tenders and my husband ordered the chicken wings. It took a waitress a very long time to come and tell us that they had ran out of chicken wings so my husband then chose the Cajun fried shrimps instead. After another long wait our starters finally arrived, they were nice but small portions. We then had to ask a waitress to take our starter plates away as the service was so slow and by this point we were all starving. Our drinks were also taking a long time to arrive. Eventually our main meals started to arrive. 5 of us had the beef brisket, which was very tasty but not enough of it. It was like a child’s portion. Tiny amount of meat, mash and vegetables. The only thing that there was enough of was the Yorkshire pudding…these are huge! We had a child’s mac & cheese as well as an adult one with a portion of chips. The mac & cheese was dry and the chips were over cooked and tasted of grease. I don’t normally have pudding but needed one as I was still hungry after such a small main meal. To be fair all the puddings were nice and good portion size. There was a horrible drain/damp smell in the ladies toilets and they are in desperate need of some TLC as well as the rest of the pub/restaurant. Our bill was very expensive for what we’d had. None of the staff were wearing face masks!

we had a lovely anniversary meal yesterday. I had goats cheese salad , smothered pork chops and my husband had the haddock goujons and the beef skillet. Our food was absolutely delicious, the service was fantastic the waitress was very attentive. Wonderful surprise with the half price deal and we will be booking a table for the weekend ! Couldn't fault the covid measures in place all of the staff were very professional. Well done trefant !

Had a lovely meal here tonight apart of the eat out to help out scheme, we could see how busy they were however the service was amazing and there wasn’t much of a waiting time considering. I had the beef featherblade which I highly recommend it was lovely. Overall 10/10 the food was cooked to perfection and the service was very welcoming and attentive. I will definitely be returing! :)

Called in didn’t have a booking but looked nice from road so wish we didn’t, Waitress showed us a table and sat down, reviewed the the limited menu offering . Drinks ordered 2x lager shandy and pint of cask ale, young waitress came over to inform no cask so ordered changed to 1x John Smith., what arrived 1 x John smith, 2 x bitter shandy .. sent back and correct drinks arrived. Food ordered butterfly chicken burger, cheese & onion pie with seasonal veg, chips and fish cake and ordered and extra side salad. What actually arrived cheese & pie with a dozen chips and 5 x broccoli. Stems no gravy. The butterfly chicken burger didn’t arrive it came as chicken strips, sent back and cancelled order after the long wait couldn’t wait any longer. My fish cake came I must say was lovely but sadly missing my side salad. Overall, the service was poor drinks had ran out no one came to table to ask to replenish had to seek someone’s attention to get more drinks, When another waitress came over ask if the meals was ok, I expressed my sheer disappointment of the experience and quality, lacking of veg, lacking of gravy, lacking of salad but most of all 1 whole meal. She said she would speak to chef, found out veg order hadn’t arrived, as a pub owner I only know too well about suppliers but at no point was this conveyed to us? The gravy came over eventually! The waitress who came over and spoke to us then called back to table said we will 100% discount the meal that you didn’t have/ordered ! We had to ask twice on that nugget! What a strange thing to say. You will see from the pic below this is how the cheese pie arrived .. maybe the chef needs to see this and think again .. smaller plates or fill the plate ! I understand the industry is struggling but in my opinion your staff are in need of training and your chef needs more passion for his food and presentation.

Had a lovely meal here on Monday 10 August. We had tomato soup to start, all served beautifully, and tasted rather nice too. My partner had gammon with salad and chips, I had the pie of the day (sweet potato curry) as I am a veggie. Also very tasty. Waitress was very attentive , even though she had her work cut out on a very demanding trio sat on the next table to us . All in all, fab service , fab food , well worth every penny. Keep up the good work Dan

Went for Sunday lunch with the family. Not much choice of meat - only Beef, Ham (???) and Chicken. We all chose the chicken. There was quite a long wait for the food. When it came the food was cold. I immediately went to talk to the waiting staff who took the plates away - we thought to reheat it. Within a couple of minutes they came back and told us that they would redo the food from scratch for us. At this point we were all starving. When the plates were delivered the 2nd time there was no difference, the brocolli, chicken and Yorkshire pudding was still stone cold, mash was cold and lumpy (definitely not "creamy" as described), large unchopped carrot lukewarm, and very tasteless. It was beyond! Highlighted the issues again to the staff who stated that they would get the chef.....who didnt come. A plate of hot tasteless carrots and brocolli was brought to our table....this was the replacement. We requested the manager - who was too busy and couldnt be bothered to come and talk to unsatisfied customers about the apalling food that was served. We were then offered a measly £1.20 discount off the food. Dont worry all our friends will be told to stay away from this establishment going forward

this was our first visit since the refurbishment was completed and although the décor had changed the menu remained basically the same.although the place was half full we were sat close to the bar which did not leave much room for people who just came in for a drink to hang around the bar, we did ask to move but were told that other tables were booked.when our meals came although my partner ate theirs I had to send mine back due to it been still frozen in the middle after it came back it was warmer but still cold at this point I gave up sent the meal back and requested it not to be returned, I was offered something else but I declined.since the refurbishment what was once a cosy welcoming place to spend a night eating and drinking has turned into a place to cater for the passing trade to the detriment of the locals. if the owners went for the transport café look then they have succeeded, although the cost of the evening was cheap unfortunately it is also nasty,i think it maybe a while before we return.

Visited on a weekend with my young family, staff were rude and didnt really give that much of a welcome or come to see if food was ok etc. The food itself was nice, could have done with bigger portion of chips but all in all I enjoyed the food (pork loin, juicy and tender) Worst part of experience however was in another room a crowd of dodgy looking youngsters who were talking loudly about what drugs they were going to get that night , looked as if they were actually taking some in the toilet too. Since found out it's a well known place for this kind of activity so won't visit again on that basis

The trefnant restaurant is most certainly not a place where people come to take drugs after seeing all the 1* reviews you have been giving several of the other local business we are very happy to loose your custom .... If you have actulely visited us that is 🤔🤔🤔. Thank you for your feedback we will be sure to lookout for these young dodgy characters
