Had heard a lot of pleasant things about this place over the past few months. So when they reopened, with all social distance measures, I decided to give it a try.
Overview: a brilliant, cosy lil cafe, overlooking the lake, with a small deck that has a unique vibe to it.
Ambience: it's a no brainer that the deck stands out and we were just about lucky to get a seat there(but early birds will get the worm and the view). The bar stools and the shake counter at the end gives a very casual feel to the entire place. You can just stand up with an Oreo shake or sit down, sip your hot chocolate and soak up the view. The inner bigger cafe is very well done as well. It's chic, modern yet makes you feel very warm and even happy.
Food:I was happy to go with the owner's suggestions of a fusion pizza, garlic and pepper chicken and grilled fish. To be honest, it was the best tasting and most well presented food I had in a while. The mocktail we ordered was also pretty darn good.
Service: Quick, courteous and very polite. The waiters were well groomed and quite prompt.
A must visit when you are in town. And I would go on a limb and say multiple visits when you are in town.

This was my second visit in the first week itself and again it was quite honestly flawless.On our first visit we were told about the tapas experience and to order a couple of tasty dishes. Service was attentive, yet personal and really quite delightful that we were remembered from the last visit! The food was innovative and beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were knowledgeable and rather fun, it's lovely to see people enjoy their job! Food was promptly served and cooked to perfection. A nice selection of drinks were on offer in a lovely atmosphere. I am amazed at portion sizes of the dishes and drinks the cafe provides you ! Quite frankly I can't wait to visit again. The food is so amazing that I really forgot to mention about the great scenic view of the Naini lake. Just perfect combination of eye luring food and Naini lake view. The right escape place away from home. Outstanding!!!!

This cafe is a must visit for anyone in Nainital. The food is delicious, we tried the pizzas, grilled fish, burgers and waffles and everything was on spot on. There menu is quite elaborate and we had no complaints about anything that we ordered. On asking for their specialty, we were treated with one of the best hot chocolate I’d had in a while. The hot chocolate is definitely a must. The place is well done up and the beautiful view of the lake just adds to the vibe. The staff is courteous and attentive, the service is quick. Owners are cautious about the hygiene and checks for people entering the cafe.

This is not the first time we visited cafe lakeside, the quality of food has gone down drastically. We ordered 'baked lasagne' which was not even close to 'baked' and they were so eager to get it to us that they served it even before cocktails or starters, cocktails were OK but we were then extremely disappointed with the starters 'chicken wings', under cooked and very big pieces (difficult to eat). Don't even get me started on the sizzler we ordered - wasted it all. While the location always comes to it's advantage this time even the amazing view could not divert our minds from the pathetic food and service
There are much better cafes in and around nainital, don't waste your money

We randomly walked into this cafe, overall ambience is excellent and lovely. You can enjoy the perfect lake view from here. Now if you talk about the food ,the experience was very average. Ordered veg & non veg momos which were just average. Hot chocolate was too bad for the price paid.

Hands down, the best cafe in Nainital. I had visited the cafe on 31st December and 1st January 2021 which was the busiest time and yet the service was wonderful and the taste was out of the world. Amazing place, Wonderful view and Perfect food. My personal best were the Hot Chocolate (w marshmallow) and Butter Chicken pizza!
Would love to visit again and would recommend everyone visiting Nainital to not miss this place!

Doing complete justice to its name, The Lakeside Inn is a beautiful hotel overlooking the Naini Lake. It houses a cosy terrace cafe with an extensive yet carefully curated menu that can be spotted from afar thanks to its beautiful decor and twinkling lights. While in the city, it be should on every food lovers list for its thick shakes, sumptuous sandwiches and hearty European meals. My personal favourite was the Crispy Potato and Sausage Tostada, a delicious Mexican ensemble comprising of a freshly made tortilla generously topped with potatoes, chicken sausage and fried eggs! Besides this, one mustn’t miss the breathtaking experience of sipping their Hot Chocolate- perhaps Nainital’s very best- while gazing at the lake, as old English music plays in the background, truly enjoying the simple pleasures of life!

Nice set-up at the side of Naini Lake, it has indoor and as well as balcony sitting provisions overlooking the lake. We visited for a lunch, when there was limited crowd. The foods were tasty, serving time was prompt, the staffs were courteous too, pricewise slightly at higher side. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience with nice view of surroundings.

Located just bang opposite the Nainital Lake and on the mall road this place can't go without noticing one's attention.
It was my first visit to Nainital and I always wanted to explore this place..Nestled just opposite the central library and on the mall road...Very close to the boat station of central library.This place reminds you of a legacy..a place meant for overlooking the Lake for hours while sipping a coffee or a Bombay cutting chai and relishing the delicacies made by the house chef..
The very desire to stay in it brought me back in August as I wanted to enjoy the Lake during the day and the also the quietness of the night!
Each corner of the cafe speaks about the passion of it's owner and the way they have done it out of sheer love to create a space where people can come,relax,cherish the lake and also a corner to read books.
The rooms are cozy and the service warm and welcome.The balcony on each floor overlooking the lake lends the same joy even if you are not staying in the rooms overlooking the lake..
The list is endless and the cafe reminded me of the old charm, a legacy and a place crafted with love and passion.
I would certainly recommend anyone visiting Nainital to not miss the oppurtunity to see this wonderful place and cherish a meal overlooking the Naini Lake..

Right on the mall road this cafe provides unobstructed view of the lake. You can simply spend hours sipping coffee and relaxing here.
The food is priced adequately and tastes perfect. Will surely comeback!

Enroute to Kausani we stopped here for breakfast. Though as per google their breakfast starts at 7, it actually starts around 8. We had some aloo and gobi parathas. The taste, ambience and location are excellent. Staff is cordial. Will definitely visit if we come to Nainital again

Café lakeside is one of the best cafes with delicious food, courteous staff and breathtaking view. Drinking hot chocolate in front of the lake view is something that everyone should experience. My personal favourites are tostada, piña colada and grilled chicken.

Cafe lakeside offers the best view along with the best food you’ll find in Nainital. The hot chocolate the sizzlers, the grilled chicken and the momos were the main highlight of our evening and we visited this cafe every single day of our trip. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to sit with a breathtaking view of the lake and some amazing food. The service is remarkable and everyone here meets all your demands with a smile, love this cafe so much and will definitely visit again!

Great discovery by the lake side. In times of Covid, super clean, high standards of sanitation, lovely view of the lake, very pleasant decor, a well chosen play list of music, friendly service staff, and good food. What more could one want!
Well, we went there for lunch on a brigt sunny day, and really wished they had an awning cover or a sun umbrella so that we could have sat out on the balcony, and enjoyed the lake view more. Might be very enjoyable to sit out in the evening with the setting sun.
For lunch our order of the Fish & Chips, Mushroom Stroganoff, & the mexican style Red Pepper Chicken worked out tasty and well proportioned; the Sizzler Chicken Mince Steak came in really sizzling but was over all okay to taste. We did the unusual dessert of Classic Sugar & Cinnamon Waffles - which were excellent - with a steaming hot enjoyable Cappucino Coffee.
Because of the local administrative laws, the cafe doesnot have a liquor license. We would, how ever, go there repeatedly, despite missing the elixirs of joy, for it is a delightful cafe.

This hotel and cafe are appropriately named: this is right on the Mall Road, overlooking Naini Lake, less than hundred metres away. The cafe is on the first floor, and while it has indoor seating as well, the best is a small terrace, covered but with plenty of natural light flooding the place, so that it almost seems as if you're sitting outdoors. Very pleasant, and a wonderful ambience.
We stopped by here for coffees, juice, and mixed pakoras. All were good, the pakoras were hot and crisp and delicious, and it was generally good value for money. Plus, great view!
