I went to Carbon a couple of times for dinner on a recent trip to Frydek-Mistek. It is probably the only restaurant in the area that has vegan options which is a real positive for it and sets it apart. Carbon is a very large,...modern restaurant with a huge terrace. The menu has a good amount of choice, including a couple of vegan options, however the soup was the only vegan/vegetarian option for starters. The service was relatively helpful, if a little slow and sometimes we found we were left unattended for a while, however I am told that this can be fairly typical for Czechia outside of Prague. Over my two visits I had a few different dishes, all of which were very tasty. I tried the tomato soup which was thick and well seasoned, the oyster mushrooms and grilled vegetables, which was my personal favourite dish. The grilled mushrooms were meaty and nutty and the grilled vegetables perfectly cooked. I also had the rice noodles with tempeh and peanut sauce which was delicious and for a dessert on one evening I had a very nice panacotta. However, a couple of the members of our group were let down when they ordered the zucchini risotto, which was absolutely awful. The risotto was very undercooked so the rice was hard and unpleasant to eat. It was also completely dry and lacked any kind of creaminess. The flavours were alright but as a result of the dryness and undercooking the texture was awful and even trying a few mouthfuls was not enjoyable. A risotto should be creamy and oozy and this one definitely needed some more stock added and a good amount of butter mixed in to achieve this, as what we were served was pretty much undercooked rice with zucchini in it. Aside from this dish though the other food was very good. Overall Carbon is a good restaurant and it is great to see somewhere in more rural Czechia doing some tasty and inventive vegan options. However, the service could use a bit of improvement and the risotto was very disappointing, so sadly I have had to deduct marks for that. I would still recommend a visit though if you are in the area, just don't order a risotto!More

We´ve already been in this restaurant many times, it has always provided great and delicious meals, service is also quite good. This time, we were there on St. Martin´s menu (a week around 11.11.), it consisted of four courses - starter (veal liver),chestnat soup, main...dish (duck with cabbage and potato dumplings), dessert (upside-down apple pie with home made ice cream). The best of all these meals was desert, followed by soup and starter. Main dish - duck was kinda ok, soft and crumbling, potato dumplings - ok, but the cabbage was rly not ok, there was a lot of licorice (imho), and all I could taste eating cabbage was licorice. I had even two pieces of licorice at my plate... unfortunately I found this out after i chewed it, so... all i could feel during main dish was licorice. Little minus of the menu, sadly at main dish. But there were no more negatives. Great ambience, great service and (almost) always perfect meal, as always in this restaurant.More

I have eaten there couple of times and never been disappointed and sometimes I was even exited about the food. The waiters are sometimes very proffesional and pleasant and sometimes not - depending on the person.

The service was absolutely awful. The waiters looked like they were annoyed that they have to work. It was a lunch time but the restaurant was not even too busy. All the employees acted like a biggest hipster and largest city boys/girls, but in manners...they were rednecks. I really felt that they were bothered by their very lives and the very need to breathe. That is undisputed fact that the food was excellent. However, such a small portion, I have not seen even in kindergarten. I can eat more, in better atmosphere, for lower price with the same quality in many other restaurants in this city.More

Carbon (although not in the nicer neighborhood of Frydek-Mistek) offers probably the best meals and staff attitude in Moravian-Silesian Region for more than affordable price. Only 20 minutes from Ostrava via highway, direction Frydek-Mistek. Probably my best eating experience in the Czech Republic ever (all...my three visits during last year were equally perfect)..More

We live in Frýdek more than six years, we heard a lot regarding Carbon restaurant but we never been there. Situation changed yesterday, we have visited Carbon first time. It was really big surprise for us. Restaurant is huge, designed in modern style, service quaility...is on high level, stuff is very friedly a professional. Food portions and design are great. Food looks really nice and tasted even better. Everything fresh and very tasty. Prices are bit higher but still acceptable. We can recomended this restaurant. It's probably one of top three restaurant in Frýdek-Místek city.More

A modern design restaurant/pub with great food and service! There are also many sitting places and a play area for children in the corner. I liked their food because it was sophisticatedly prepared like you're in a chic resto and it was really tasty! I...highly recommend this place.More

I sat downstairs once and then upstairs the second time. The hamburgers are excellent!! The bar upstairs is so modern and trendy I liked it more than downstairs. The outside seating is large. The parking is a bit of a hassle but try around back...and then use the back entrance.More

atmosphere of interier of this restaurant is a interesting, probably best described by words: 'modern' and 'spacious'. even details like a cuttlery set interested me for its design. so, this restaurant is unique not only in scope of city F-M, but overall. also services of...restaurant are unique... many events over year, but what i like the most, is: a lunch menu. because on lunch menu, for nice price ~90CZK, you will get on table full vessel of soup, from which you and friends can put into your plates how many you can eat (oh yes... theoretically :-)), then very good main course, which name and its described ingrediences in menu sounds always very interesting and 'cool', and on finale you get always very very decent cake - small in size, but decent in taste.More
