Excellent food and service. We went for local Philippines food for lunch, it was so good we rebooked and came back that night for dinner as well. Highly recommended. They also specialise in desert cakes.

The cakes are very good.If you are a westerner and are used to your food being brought out at the same time you'll be disappointed. As with most Filipino restaurants they tend to bring the meals out as they are ready, in no particular order....According to my Filipina wife and her family, the Sinigang na bangus was perfect. Tip to Grandmas Best: On the BLT, the bacon should be warm and done. As many have reported the place can be busy at times. Service is sometimes good and sometimes not so good. The staff is friendly and helpful, but busy. If you enjoy classic Filipino food you'll love Grandma's Best. We actually visited in March 2018 and this review is late. The dropdown menu for 'when did you visit only went to March 2019.'More
The food is okay. . Atmosphere is conducive for small talk during snack time. But avoid the place during weekend, especially at lunch. The place is crowded at dinner time and during lunch. You could bump into another table on your way to the rest rooms..If you...had spent your childhood days in Dipolog, you could possibly identify a patron or two, probably your high school teachers. More than half of the patrons are elderly.More
I always have a bias with this place because everytime the family visits the city, when someone asks “asa ta kaon?” and no one suggests anything, then this is our default place. Food is generally good and price is very affordable. I personally love the...lengua and beef with broccoli. Only problem with the place is that it’s packed during lunch hours.More
Had a quick lunch in the this place. We tried beef teriyaki and sweet and sour fish and its good. Tried their bulalo but meat is not that soft. Rice serving is big😆
I don’t know if I did a review of this place way back. I tried (though not too hard) looking for my review but I cannot find it. Anyway, I’d still give this place a good review no matter how long we were able to...come back here within a year. We often come here at least thrice in a year. This year, 2018, me and my friends came for an early dinner. For the many menus they serve, I’d still get my favourite: Pork Thai Rice. (Picture below). Satisfying and delicious. Place is relaxing when not packed. Overall, I’ll keep coming here. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼More
I was looking for a local resto in town where they serve good food. Grandma's Best was one of the recommendations in some of the blogs I read. They have a cake shop and dine in place, it is about 5 mins away from our...hotel. We ordered kare kare, grilled blue marlin and lechon kawali, buko and mango shake for our drinks. The food was delicious! We love it! We were not able to finish everything because the servings are huge. We only paid less than 700php for everything (WOW!) The staff are nice and attended to all our needs. The cakes by the counter look so enticing but we were so full, we don't have enough tummy space for desserts :( I will recommend this restaurant when you visit Dipolog.More
its my first time i vesit the place ..the food was so great and the price is so cheap ..the service is good, the portion of the food was enough.. one thing is when we order a birthday cake the taste is just ordinary cake...that we can order from the bakery in the street .. maybe the flour and the butter that the chef using...hope it will improve ..c you next time..... rdm/fom/tmMore
Breakfast omelette wasn't good but I've learned they don't make American style breakfast in Philippines but the other food was good
The ambience is great, there were a lot of people but still feels spacious. The waiter and waitresses are very attentive to their customers. Recommended
Probably the best bakery in Dipolog city. An old establishment with a solid reputation and reasonable prices.
It was our first time in Dipolog… For every new place my hubby and I visit, food tripping tops our things to do. Grandma’s Best was highly recommended by a hotel staff. She said that it is quite popular among locals and is accessible by...tricycle. True enough, when we told the tricycle driver “Grandma’s Best”, no more further questions and we were there in about 10 minutes. Grandma’s Best is located in a residential area on Mabini corner Arellano St. Dipolog City, which very accessible. We got there a little past lunchtime on a Saturday and the place was jampacked, though we did not wait that long to be seated. The fixtures are nothing fancy but ambiance is warm and comfy. One cannot miss their eye-catching wall and ceiling decors. Their menu has a wide variety of Filipino dishes from soups, veggies, meat, seafood and sizzling choices. Unfortunately, I was not able to take note of the price for each but I can assure you, all are very affordable. Meals are less than P200 while cakes and pastries are less that P100. Grandma’s Best is a gem in Dipolog. Simply satisfying… a delightful experience.More
This place was crowded with locals and seems to be somewhat of an institution! It was a great introduction for me to Filipino cuisine. I was pleased to try a wide variety of food, especially since you get a bang for your buck here! I...hear they make great cakes here but unfortunately I did not get the chance to try any.More
Great food and ambiance. People come by word of mouth. And if you are a local of the place, expect to see friends and acquaintances dining or waiting in line for orders to be served. It is indeed grandma's best.
This is a must visit for the food and the cakes. Always busy and very reasonable. For Philipinnes food this is the place to eat. Five stars of food for $ low prices. Don't leave without a cake...best cakes I've seen anywhere!!!
