UrChoice used to be the best restaurant in Northern Mindanao and the Zamboanga peninsula. Two developments have changed this status. First, several new, fine-dining restaurants have opened. Second, the owner/chef/manager is no longer resident in the Philippines. The menue has not been changed in many years. UrChoice is still a very good restaurant. And we have eaten many fine meals there over the years. But . . . .

The owner chef, manager was back in Dipolog for several months. He downsized the menu a little. But he did not add any new dishes, none. Seems as if I've been eating the same food there for many, too many years. It's still by far the best restaurant in town, BUT past time for a change. There a newish restaurant in Dipolog. But only open for dinner, when we're back home. We'll give it a try, if nothing else for something different.

The decor and service are still fine. But, to quote my wife, "I feel full just looking at the menu." For me it's more like "Been there. Done that. Have the t shirt." This once great restaurant needs a reboot. Desperately. Unless it does, other good restaurants have opened in Dipolog. Two of them are REALLY good. So, with regret, maybe sometime.

I have been to this restaurant twice. Both times a lady (who looked and acted very much like a man, no offense) was rude and I got sick (diarrhea) the last time. I ordered 2 pizzas both times. The food looks and even tastes great but I do not trust this place and wont bring my family here anymore. The lady before I left gave me a devil smile and said "bye sir" and it was the only time she smiled while speaking with me or my family. Very suspicious vibe I got from her. I am white and I had a feeling that might have something to do with it as well.

What to say. Rolando, the owner, manager and chef has been away for more than two years. So, some of the little things have slipped a bit. That said, UrChoice is still far and away the best restaurant in Dipolog. Please note, it's far, far more than just a pizza restaurant - but it's pizzas are the best anywhere. It's a great Italian restaurant. As well, the decor is excellent: Bistro casual. Things could be better, however. The menu needs to be updated - badly: new dishes, not so many "out of stock", many more repriced. Llooks sloppy. The parking situation has deteriorated - again badly. The staff of the new PLDT office next door takes up UrChoice's parking places. UrChoice's It's staff is still at covid-19 levels and hours (11am to 6pm) are still limited. A shame. BUT, and it's a very big BUT, the food is GREAT, particularly compared to . . . . . any others.

I checked tripadvisor for recommended restaurants in Dipolog and UrChoice is on top. Found out that it was near my hotel so I decided to check it. At 5:30 in the afternoon I was alone in the restaurant. I ordered for brick oven cooked Pepperoni Pizza and to go with it I ordered fresh Calamansi Juice.
The served the juice and when I tasted it, I found it too sweet and too sour which was a good surprise. I requested for a glass of water and extra ice and I got myself two glasses of Calamansi Juice.
When my pizza arrived I realized it was big. The crust was soft and crispy and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. I devoured around 6 slices of the big pizza. It somehow equalled the satisfaction I get from California Pizza Kitchen.
Aside from the food, it was fun to watch them toss the dough, spread the sauce and put the toppings. Then I watched the cook place it inside the brick oven.
I also like the ambience of the place. Warm lighting and cozy decor and soft music.
I highly recommend this place.

just had a lovely lunch.
I had fresh fish and my partner had a pork steak.
Just had to take a pizza home with us ,so got a 4 seasons pizza to try a bit of everything.

my one "go to" place whenever I visit Dipolog. Love their salads and pasta - which I was told uses authentic Italian ingredients ordered all the way from Italy. great value for money!

Because am eating solo and is craving for pizza, I ordered hawaian small size for 170ph. Sulit! The crust is good and the fillings are overloaded. Wanted to try their pasta soon.

El Buridon tastes so good! The pizza are cooked in stone oven outside the cafe and its so interesting how they prepare the very tasty pizza!!!!
