Dahon Restaurant offers five star dining at Salaya Beach Houses for anyone who is looking for top quality food and service in the Dumaguete area. The restaurant is open to the public and resort guests from 7am-10pm, 7 days a week (last orders are at 9.15pm) Dining options include a modern art-gallery style air-conditioned restaurant overlooking tropical gardens, poolside tables (subject to availability) with views of the ocean, and private dining in a beachfront cabana. Dahon restaurant offer menus with mixture of contemporary European, Asian fusion and Filipino influences with strong emphasis on celebrating fresh local ingredients. Expect hand made everything! Dahon make everything in-house, including breads, pastries (croissants, pain au chocolat), sauces, ice-creams, cakes, and more. You won't find any packet mixes or pre-prepared short cuts here, it's all about high quality, healthy food that is cooked with love, and without the use of preservatives. Gluten free options.

Well worth the drive

Even though it is a little hard to get to because of the narrow road approach, it is well worth the drive. The staff were superb and the food was even better. We went there for a birthday and they made the event extra special. When desert was served (creme broulle) they decorated it and came out with a guitar and staff singing happy birthday. What a special treat. The food was excellent also. The best burger I've had in the Philippines. The chicken my wife had was equally delicious. It was a totally excellent time there.

Culinary delights, surround every corner.

Came for the diving, but absolutely would come back for the food. Wide variety of cultural dishes to delight all palettes. The pastry chef is also a genius and every night featured a different dessert specialty. Be forewarned the food is so good you might have to change how much weight you take down when you dive.

Great Japanese lunch at Dagon/Salaya

The Japanese “all you can eat” lunch was better than credible Japanese cuisine. It stood toe-to-toe with the best Japanese restaurants at Dumaguete’s malls. As usual Salaya pulled off a genuine coup of a dish: the Wakame salad was over the top and the chef’s version of Baked Alaska dessert was delicious. Our server, Ralph, made the whole experience memorable. Ralph was at tentative, a solid menu guide, warm, friendly and the epitome of “hospitality.”

WALK IN! Don't drive.

We had delicious breakfasts at this small, beautifully appointed restaurant located in a beautiful setting. I would highly recommend its eggs Benedict, the best I've had in Dumaguete. BUT, BUT, BUT the "road" from the highway to the restaurant is a HORROR: rocky so very slow driving is a must (or goodbyesuspension), but NARROW, no room for even a motorcycle to pass in the other direction. Few widening to allow passing. Essentially, be prepared for one of you to back up 100 meters if you meet any oncoming vehicle. The staff say, maybe widened next year. If I were to go again, I'd park on the main road and walk in the 300-400 meters. Great food, atmosphere, service, but that entry road. YIKES.

Really great food

I went for a coffee and ended up staying for dinner. The view is great and there is a happy hour 5-6pm. I had the Kinilaw, which is a Filipino-style cerviche, and a Pad Thai. Both were great. There was also a talented band playing and everyone working there was super friendly.

Afther last year's visit i was looking forward to come again. The same bumby road and then at last a little pease off paradise. I walk in and i feld at home again , the friedly staff the great food ooh i was in love again . Some things have changed but only for the better . This is still the best place to enjoy a woderfull eating expierence. I will be back manny times.

Super good food friendly staff and a clean cool restaurant with many dishes to choose from. This is top dining. A good wine list and a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Recommend this highly !

Great sushi Saturday

We tried the all you can eat sushi buffet in this restaurant. It was very good. All the food are delicious and superb. Kathy who served us is approachable and friendly. Wakame is the best.
