Even though it is a little hard to get to because of the narrow road approach, it is well worth the drive. The staff were superb and the food was even better. We went there for a birthday and they made the event extra special....When desert was served (creme broulle) they decorated it and came out with a guitar and staff singing happy birthday. What a special treat. The food was excellent also. The best burger I've had in the Philippines. The chicken my wife had was equally delicious. It was a totally excellent time there.More

I went for a coffee and ended up staying for dinner. The view is great and there is a happy hour 5-6pm. I had the Kinilaw, which is a Filipino-style cerviche, and a Pad Thai. Both were great. There was also a talented band playing...and everyone working there was super friendly.More

We were staying at Atlantis for 9 days which is right next door to Salaya. We were looking for good restaurants outside of Atlantis/Toko’s but where we were at is at least a 15-20min walk to Dauin town. Dahon at Salaya is a good option....It is more posh than most options so we decided to try it on Christmas Eve. I walked in to book, and the staff was very friendly. There is seafood platter on the menu but they said there was no seafood on that day (it is not just Dahon but seafood options in Dumaguete/ Dauin are rare, let alone good). We also wanted to be seated outside on the lawn next to the swimming pool which is beautiful. However it was raining when we arrived at 7pm and we have to be seated inside the restaurant. There was only one other table so the whole place was quite empty. We ordered steak and other non-seafood dishes and the food was good quality and tasted alright. Not bad for Dauin’s standards. The meal was reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. Overall a good experience. If you stay around Salaya, Dahon is a good option for dinners if you ever grow sick of your own resort’s restaurants.More

The food needs improvements in terms of preparations, options and ingredients selection. We often found it too oily, salty with sometimes unpleasant aftertasteMore

" A terrible dining experience " Looking for a great dinner experience in Dauin and surrounding we reviewed TripAdvisor and found Dahon Restaurant. The reviews telling from Excellent to even made in " Heaven " and best in Negros made us believe this is the...place to go for. How good we be more wrong by going here based on this great reviews ! Its a very small one way sand road leading to this place but for a great dinner it should be worth it we thought. The restaurant was almost empty only one other table occupied. We ordered first Bitterballen and Chicken Satay. The Bitterballen were ok but nothing that special for 350 P. The " best" peanut satay sauce was nothing more than a watery tasteless peanut mixture that has nothing to do with Malaysian style Satay. Next was Pad Thai just tasted ok as being simple fried noodles but again this tasted definitely not Like Pad Thai as being my favorite Thai Food. Well same for the Nasi Goreng nothing more as a simple fried rice. All very average food we did not expect here. All food did take long but ok as what they write in their menu " Great food takes time to prepare " Well even there where only two tables occupied our last Main Event Braised Beef did take around a hour. Unbelievable but true the waitress even was so embarrassed she offered us some free beer ? Well nice but we were waiting one hour for our food now even the only other occupied table had the same problem with their food to be served . Then after one hour or more we would rather leaf already the Braised Beef came. And yes it was simple uneatable. The beef was totally over cooked and dried out. The polenta did more look and tasted like mashed potatoes. The waitress came back to our table and told us with a smile " yes Sir very dry " with out much talking she brought the food back and say something like wrong Cook, he doesn't know this, day off or something ? Well this was the end off our dining miss adventure. What we learned don't go always blind on all this over rated reviews on TripAdvisor we found out the hard way. The Resort it self did look ok but this Restaurant i can definitely not recommend sad to say !More
