Spotted this place when wandering around the village. It was closed when we walked up the hill with a few people loitering around. Luckily for us it opened as well walked down the hill so we thought we would pop in for a swifty. Despite...its size it has a great selection of draft ales, bottles and cans of specialist ales. Lots of unusual Gins and Rums and some top notch speciality snacks. The welcome was a warm one with one of the owners telling us about the garden at the back and how to order from there if you didn’t want to order inside. We found a seat in the fab little garden outback and I went in to see what was available, clicking an order on the phone isn’t for me. I decided on a Leffe and ordered my good lady a nice Rum and coke. Inside looked just as welcoming as outside. It’s nicely done out and, again, despite its size, more than comfortable. It’s always nice to get your beer in the glass that’s made for it, too many pubs have you playing beer-glass roulette these days. Mrs A enjoyed her Rumbullion too. It was a wee bit chilly so we went inside only for the owner to point out another wee room out the back known as the Armoury for reasons that will become clear when you visit, as a I know you will following this review. Beautifully decorated and very atmospheric it lulled us into another drink. This time I tried the Hoffmeister, probably because I was reminded of the old advert with the Bear (I’m getting on a bit!). My good lady then went to the Chilli and chocolate Rum Served with ginger ale as recommended by the other owner !! Like Christmas is a glass Both lads who have the place took time out to chat to us and it was nice to find out how they came about to get the place and how it is really working out. It’s good to see effort and gamble pay off. Well done fellas We also tried the pork scratchings. Another must and great with the beautifully chilled lager Already planning another couple later in the week before returning home from our short stay in Ingleton. A great place worthy of its number one ranking PS. It’s not a restaurant. It’s a fantastic little:micropub Eat elsewhere but don’t miss this place Anyway, spent a good hour plus there andMore

Stopped here for a pint, extended our stay to three. Staff were engaging, other customers were exceptional. Lots of chat and engagement and the afternoon passed like old friends reacquainted. Highly recommended for a pit stop - after our walk of the Ingleston Waterfalls.

Always a great experience and to catch up with Rob and Adam. Very friendly owners in a great friendly atmosphere These guys are second to none in what they have achieved since purchasing the old post office. If you have never visited make sure this...is on the top of your list to visit and definitely check out the great garden and also the little back room of a great collection of medieval history. As far as I am concerned this is the best bar to visit in Ingleton and probably the country it oozes with unique drinks especially gins and both Rob and Adam can help you through all the various selection of drinks for sale. I got help getting in with my wheelchair and walking sticks and they were outstanding with their support. Thanks again and cannot wait to visit againMore

This is a charming pub kitted out with great effort by its friendly owners. There is a great drinking garden around the back... check out the armoury room inside! Would definitely recommend copious visits ...and the fantastic prices sweeten the deal :)

Lovely hospitable independent bar. More space than you’d think. Lovely hosts, so much choice. Very welcoming. I liked the vedette beer and they accommodated my daughter with water and snacks.

Absolutely love The Old Post Office. First visit was a catch up with an old friend and we say in the lovely garden. Service via the app was very quick and efficient. Superb. Second visit was with a friend for a night out and we...sat in the armoury to enjoy a fab bottle of wine or two! Again, super service and you could see the menu on the app and order on it if you wanted, but could also order in person. Highly recommend The OPO to everyone 🙂More

We have been several times now and each visit has been great. We have sat in The Armoury and had a fun evening engaging with a group of friendly tourists. We have enjoyed the sunshine in the delightful Secret Garden. Our favourite is the bar...though. Rob and Adam are perfect hosts and love to chat about their beers. Which is helpful, as the beer selection is plentiful and excellent.More

An absolutely fabulous little bar that we visited a number of times whilst staying in Ingleton Rob and Adam are fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome along with the very friendly regulars. A great range of drinks and snacks (naga chilli pork scratchings...among them!) If you only visit one bar in Ingleton then make it this one. Thank you for your hospitality and best wishes for the future guys.More

Hi, not really I'm afraid. It's at least an hour and a half on foot. Nice walk on the way there but not so great on the way back in the dark. Id try to book a taxi well in advance. Try Bentham Taxis on 015242 62462.
