Absolutely amazing! Super lovely staff and the best ever burger I have ever had! We live in Manchester and in Ingleside for the weekend BUT we are planning to drive here on another Saturday just for the amazing food and atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend big time! Absolute gem!

My friend and I only booked our table on the day of visiting, and how lucky were we. It’s small, beautifully decorated with a really nice atmosphere, so definitely need to book, as the day after they were having to turn away walk ins. The menu has a range of Buddha bowls and larger meals and salads. We had a salad and Buddha bowl which was delicious. There was a large group in, and the owners were concerned it was too noisy and apologised, but it just added to the lovely atmosphere. The owner is delightful, and her daughter the waitress was so lovely with a good sense of humour. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, and would definitely return.

This restaurant was recommended to us and certainly did not disappoint. Sarah and Rob were the perfect hosts, very attentive, without being intrusive. Hats off to the chef , Menu is not too busy which I like. Tempura Broccoli to start, omg amazing !! Followed by "posh" fish & chips, the cod was cooked perfectly and plenty of it, homemade chips were cooked to perfection, pesentation 5 star!! A nice restaurant with a great vibe. 4 starters , 4 mains , 4 alcoholic drinks £112,50!! We wish you all the best and predict great success.

We went here recently for a bite to eat after reading the great reviews (later found others not filtered on social media). I'm gluten intolerant and the menu was extremely limited, however I didn't want my partner to miss out. The hostess is welcoming to begin with, but soon changes demeanour if asked relevant questions-I need to ask if there are separate prep areas/cooking utensils to avoid cross contamination. We ended up leaving without eating, as the staff seem ill informed and quite clueless, that's a huge worry for anyone with an allergy. No doubt this review will result in a negative response, but check out any of my other reviews and you'll see I'm not a "serial complainer". AVOID.

Hi Vivienne6580, we're sorry you feel this way about our business. Lets start with the 90 minutes thing. You must have walked in trying to get a table at our busiest time. Most of our guests book ahead as we only have 5 tables and obviously we have to give priority to those who have made a reservation. 90 mins is an industry standard and more than enough time for 3 courses. You can always move to the bar area to finish drinks and chats if you wish. During quieter times or for the last sitting, you can have your table all night. Moving on to the intolerance point: "the staff" is me - the owner, my brother and my chef (who happens to be coeliac) and we answer these questions for people day in, day out. We take every precaution which has earned us our 5 star rating and fantastic reputation. We do have quite a small menu it's true - all our food is fresh not frozen and we strive to minimise waste - but we make sure there are always allergy-free options or ways we can modify a dish. Sorry to hear you didn't fancy any of those. We do find this review a bit odd though - neither of us can recall having had such a distinctive a conversation like this with someone recently (or ever). Are you sure you've got the right place? As a tiny venue with 3 staff we would remember. Also, "reviews not filtered on social media"? Um, we don't actually get to take down reviews we don't like as we're not the bosses of Trip Advisor or any other social site! Merry Christmas!

This restaurant is the diamond of Ingleton. We visited twice on 2 consecutive nights during our stay. We had the bon bons, meatball and prawns for our starters across the 2 visits. For the mains we had the Buddha bowls for the first visit and then the burgers the 2nd night. All the food we had was amazing and spot on the seasoning was absolutely amazing on all the food. The atmosphere is welcoming and Sarah the owner makes all the guests feel special. The kids menu looks great and we would come back with the kids.

Booked a table for a busy Saturday evening after reading great reviews on TA. The olives to start with lacked flavour. I had meaty one buda bowl for main with sides, there was no bacon as described, cold chicken and vension sparse. I complained and was fobbed off, staff seemed uncaring and more motivated to get home. Service was fine until I complained and then the lady became rude and confrontational. She said she forgot to mention the bacon was unavailable. I would not recommend, I left feeling saddened from the whole experience.

Visited 4 times during our week in the area, 3 times just for a drink and dinner on the fourth occasion. This is a small venue with sitting outside (rear and front of the premises). If you are looking to eat it is best to book, it's a popular location. Drinks: Good local spirits and beer. We tried the stormy bay raspberry and rhubarb gin, local ale and stout. All were excellent drinks. Food: We picked a selection of foods in a tapas style meal. All the food was presented and cooked well. Staff: We found the staff very friendly, helpful and the barman was great to chat to.

My boyfriend and I visited Ingleton for a quick trip away. The staff were lovely and welcoming despite being an hour before the kitchen closed. We had the buttermilk chicken strips, parmesan fries, build your own burger and shared some halloumi. All was delicious. Also a lovely selection of local beers. We will definitely return here in future trips! Thank you :)

Visited Peaks and Troughs during a weekend stay in the town. What a find! Starters of tempura broccoli and prawns with coconut and chilli hit the spot superbly and are recommended. The mains we chose were equally delicious. Mine, the beef and onions, was substantial, tasty, and beautifully presented. I had no room for dessert. My better half chose The Meaty One, a meal in one bowl and was delighted with her choice. Sarah welcomed us warmly and took care of everything perfectly, despite a pretty full restaurant. Outcome...two happy customers, full stomachs, fond memories, and wondering how soon we can go back to try other menu items, or make the same choices... decisions, decisions!

Peaks and Troughs is relatively new as a restaurant in the popular Yorkshire dales village of Ingleton. With its funky decor and inviting lighting, it really is a nice place to step in to. A small but varied menu of absolutely delicious food. Now on our third visit of what is actually our local go to restaurant we have sampled the latest spring season offerings. Service is friendly and personal with a genuine caring approach to us enjoying both our food and time at the table. Portions are just the right size to fill you without losing the delicate flavours of the dishes. Both starters and mains compliment each other... as soon as a dessert choice is added, perfection could quite possibly have been met. We will be back again very soon to tick off more of the lovely food.

Found this little gem whilst staying nearby and walking the three peaks. Decided to head out for dinner rather than cook but had left it quite late. After calling numerous places we got lucky and made it just before last orders. As a party of 4 we had two chicken burgers and two fish and chips which were the best we’ve eaten in a very long time. Service was exceptional and super friendly. Will definitely be back on our next visit up north.

Just enjoyed the best curry I have ever tasted! Extremely impressed with this place and the menu on offer. Popadoms and the relishes were tasty, chicken tikka was succulent and tasted extremely fresh. I had the medium curry which was delicious, and a huge portion! My husband had the hot curry which was also fantastic. Both curries tasted authentic, full of flavour and were beautifully presented. The naan bread was more than enough to share and rice spot on too. A great vibe in this place, can’t wait to try another curry on our next visit! Highly recommended.

We stumbled across this restaurant in Ingleton and had a fantastic night, the food was great and the wine was lovely (and at very reasonable price). We had the prawns in a chill sauce along with the Chorizo bites for starters, they tasted great, I tried the Beef and Bacon burger with chips and coleslaw for my main and it beat me I couldn’t finish it, it was huge but again tasted great. The wife had The Meaty Buddha bowl and loved it, all this with a lovely bottle of Pino went down a treat, well done to the chef and all the staff at Peaks and Troughs for a great night out.

Fantastic food and ambience at a lovely restaurant in Ingleton. We had the Buddha bowls and burgers and they were full of flavour and delicious. The decor is quirky, not what you would expect in the yorkshire dales. The host was friendly and chatty and the music was great. We will surely return on our next trip to Ingleton.
