We saw the reviews on here but thought we’d take a chance. We were seated straight away but it took nearly an hour to get our food. We were a bit concerned after over hearing the people next to us complain about the food they had. I was glad that we got some really enjoyable food. I had the beer battered haddock and my partner the slow cooked pork belly. Both tasty. That side was fine. We asked for the dessert menu but after a 30 minute wait seeing the staff wander round not bringing one we asked for the bill (which we got very quickly) The same lady who we asked for the dessert menu gave us it without even making reference to the desserts. If the service here was so much better they would have really good reviews. Yes the food was more expensive than other places but it was of a very good standard.

Lovely pub to head to after a walk at the ingleton falls. We had food and ordered 2x children’s cheeseburger and chips 1x small fish and chips and an adults burger and chips. All the food was lovely, however the kids meals were identical to my husbands burger apart from a relish, onion and a piece of bacon which seemed to warrant an extra £7. So heads up order a kids cheeseburger for half the price unless you particularly want the bacon!! Food was very nice though.

Stayed at meadow falls campsite with our friends. Me and my husband visited Friday afternoon for a bite to eat whilst waiting for our friends to arrive and we was seated, served food and really looked after. We had a table booked for the Saturday night with our friends and received the same amazing service. We had a baby and a dog, and we was placed at a table with lots of room for us all including the pram. Social distancing taken very serious. One way system in place and track and trace can be done via a slip at the door or qr code on the back of the menu! Would highly recommend and will most definitely visit again.

We booked a table for 5 (4 adults and one child) and when we arrived we were greeted with, due to your late booking we have put you in the corner, (booked 6 hours before arriving), which wasn't the best start. The table was great, no issues. We were given menus and a sandwich menu instead of a child's menu. We then sat for 15 minutes with nobody taking our drinks order. We saw a customer from outside go to the bar and order a drink and was served so i went to the bar myself, but was told to sit down as it is easier for the staff. No problems, but 2 more customers arrived at the bar and were served. 20 minutes after arriving we were asked for our drinks order, which then arrived 10 minutes later. After 30 minutes sat down we were asked for our food order. We understand that post lock-down things are a little different, but there were less customers than usual, so why it took so long to take our under is unknown. We didn't mind waiting for food as this was really nice food. Overall, the food was good, if not a little pricey compared to all the other pubs in the local area (especially as they do help out to eat out and the Marton Arms didn't), but we had to wait along time just for a drink and be acknowledged, with no apology, even asking if we had had enough time to decide what we wanted from the menu after 30 minutes from a menu that only contained around 10 items. Kids menu arrived after 30 minutes too. Been here before in the past and the food and service was excellent, so hopefully it can be put down to a bad experience post lock-down.

We had been for a lovely meal last year & couldn’t wait to return. We were really disappointed as the menu was really limited & ran out of things. The only thing left worth having we’re burgers. They were poor quality & fat dripping from them as you eat them served with frozen/oven chips, not like the chunky homemade chips we had last time. The ravioli was served in a huge bowl with hardly any food to eat £1 per piece)! We will unfortunately not be returning! 4 main meals & 4 drinks came to £75, we were gutted!

2 stars is a generous assessment. Having shielded for 16 months and now fully vaccinated against covid my wife and I decided to risk a self catering break in the Dales but to support the local hostelrys' by spending some money eating out for the whole trip. They have had such a hard time. Visited this pub on a cold day, early afternoon for our first treat. Braving the 6C temps and the wind we sat in the marquee and ordered. Limited menu but understandable, no quibble here. Fish pie for my wife and burger with extra bacon for me. The burger was cremated, as was the bacon which disintegrated into tiny crisps the moment it was cut. The burger was smothered in some awful brown relish which might have been onion at some time but was very bitter. The tiny portion of chips was served in small bowl on the plate with the burger. £16.45? Not worth a £5 The fish pie was a single oval bowl of a thick layer of slightly runny potato covering a meagre portion of overcooked and stringy fish. Not a hint of any vegetables to go with it, nothing, just a bowl of mush. £14.95? Wouldn't make the economy shelf of a cheapo supermaket. £2.99 max. We don't like being ripped off. If this pub wants to recover from the effects of the pandemic it must stop earning reviews like this and give better value for money

This is a place we have visited several times over the last 2 years and have always really enjoyed the high standard of service and excellent food. However today's visit was extremely disappointing We booked a table in advance and followed the covid guidelines of waiting to be seated, we stood by the door in full view of the bar and staff for over 5 minutes during which time various waitresses and staff walked past us backwards and forwards but not once did anyone acknowledge us or say they'd be with us shortly. After a few more minutes someone eventually showed us to our table. The menu is understandably reduced but sounded good, previously we have commented how the food is similar to fine dining restaurant food but today the standard was poor and very basic. At different points during the meal we also heard staff members speaking to each in an angry manner, if the pub had been very busy you could understand them maybe feeling stressed but it wasn't what I'd class as busy and this wasn't nice to hear. We feel so upset that it wasn't its usual high standard and will probably think of eating in other places from now on

LOVE LOVE LOVE! We (5 adults and 2 children) visited the Marton Arms for a Friday evening dinner. First of all, the waitress/manager was very welcoming and cheerful! Secondly, the food was absolutely amazing! We recommend to anyone. Thank you.

The Marton Arms advertised itself as open from April 12th for outside dining and booked time slots only. Fair enough. We arrived 10 minutes early and were shown to our table. We were then told that there were no fresh ingredients. For example chicken, meat, beefburgers, veg, or homemade chips. We weren't told that there was no Bruschetta, when the starter arrived, it was just chopped tomato on sliced white toast, no bruschetta. Fish and home made chips was fish and McDonalds style fries. I could have accepted these issues if some form of compensatory discount was offered. It wasn't and I was given the starter free, only after I complained. Very disappointed as last year we had a fantastic meal here. Probably won't be back.

Absolutely gorgeous location, perfect for lunch on a sunny day. The host and staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food we had was delicious. The only reason that we have given it 4 and not 5 is that the food is expensive, in our opinion. We love good quality food and have no issues paying for it but we felt that, although the quality was excellent, it didn't offer great value but this is very subjective. Would go back though, it's a great place.

Called for lunch 15.7.22 ordered a roast beef sandwich with gravy, cost £9 it consisted of one small slice of crusty bread topped with a slither of thinly cut beef, loads of rocket. I felt it should have been called bruschetta although i have eaten larger bruschetta. Overpriced, poor quality !! Nice pub such a shame about the food, I wouldn’t return.

We called for a meal on our way home after walking in the Lake District. Staff were friendly. We just ordered main courses because we didn't want to be too long. Drinks order came quickly but our food took ages to arrive. My daughter had ordered one of the two vegetarian dishes on the menu and was dismayed at the small size of the portion at a cost of £15.95. My pork was very tasty but the tiny potato croquette wasnt sufficient carbohydrate. My husband described his fish and chips as ' not the best' . I did have a word about the portion size of the vegetarian dish and the staff member said they would inform the chef but no feedback was offered. Would not return.

We were meant to stay here for 2 nights but went home after 1. There was nothing wrong with the room it had everything we needed. In the morning we had a breakfast takeout left outside our door for us as we were doing the three peaks challenge that day and needed to be left by 5:30am which was nice. When we returned from the challenge we were so hungry but told we couldn’t get any food because they were fully booked. So we then decided to go to our room and get changed, however when we arrived at our room our door had been left unlocked by whoever cleaned our room whilst we were out leaving all our valuables vulnerable to the public. This was not acceptable so we handed our key in and left to drive 5 hours home to get something to eat.

When booking I wanted to book a family room for 2 adults 2 children but no such room was available on the website so I booked 2 separate rooms. Upon arrival I was told family rooms where available, when I told them that option wasn't available on the website they refused to refund me for the extra room I didn't need or use. I feel like I was misled into spending £85 on a room I never wanted or needed!!!!!

We were visiting relatives nearby and decided to book a room for the weekend at the Marton Arms. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome , our room was nice and good value, a wide selection of local beers was also available in the bar. We booked to dine at the pub both evenings and the food and general atmosphere within the pub was great. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and nothing was to much trouble. A great weekend along with great staff and service, will definitely be returning
