This was our first visit to a pub since the Covid 19 restrictions were lifted. The new procedures have been implemented well and we felt safe. We chose to sit outside with our dog and there was more than ample distancing between tables. We observed staff wiping down the tables and seats after every guest left. It’s table service if you sit inside or order at the bar for outside guests. We only stopped for a pint but then felt reassured enough to order some food which was well cooked and very reasonably priced.

Called in for Sunday lunch, 4 of us, told to sit where we wanted as it wasn’t busy. Chose 4 Sunday roasts 3 beef and 1 ham. Arrived in reasonable time all the meals were hot with lots of fresh vegetables and plenty of gravy and whatever sauces we wanted. The meat was delicious. We all had sweets which were also lovely. Will definitely call again when in Ingelton

We booked dinner last minute after taking our time around the waterfalls trail and needing to feed the children before the long drive home. We aren't from the area and weren't sure what to expect. The virus measures are very reassuring. We were greeted by very friendly staff. The food was delicious and I was very impressed with the many vegetarian and vegan options. We loved how you can build your own burger from the list, particularly as we are quite fussy eaters. The kids ate without complaint, which is a rarity. The desserts were fab. What set our experience out from the norm was the service we received. Our son is Autistic and whilst much of the time it would be difficult for the outsider to notice, eating out, especially when unplanned in an unfamiliar environment, can be really difficult. Our son wears a lanyard for this reason. Our server picked up on this and effectively and discreetly managed our whole visit so well that we ate just like any other family. From the quite space, help with ordering, bringing crayons when impatience set in, to the marvellous way she interacted with our son calmly, reassuringly, without fuss, it was unlike anything else we have experienced. Most people fuss children and that is the opposite of what we need. It was absolutely marvellous and it made our day. I cannot remember the last time we ate out without stress or meltdown. I would highly recommend the Wheatsheaf. We will definitely go back.

Been to this restaurant many times in the past, always been A1, however, went Saturday evening for a meal on 16/10/21. Ordered the garlic bread for starter but when it came it smelled and tasted of vomit. We immediately told the waitress who agreed it smelt awful and replaced it for another one which tasted the same. My partner was physically sick after tasting it and we told the waitress that. Our main meal came and mine was the gammon and chips, it was very nice and a good portion. My partner had the steak and ale pie and chips with gravy, the gravy was heavily congealed and watered down to try and hide the fact! We told the waitress that this gravy was all over the pie and my partner said to her this meal was disgusting and ate around a third of it only. We were refunded for the garlic bread but had to pay the full price for the meal covered in the 'off' gravy although it was inedible!!

Stopped by for a late lunch after the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, it was ok but a few issues. The tables themselves are tiny, as quite tall people it was difficult to fit four of us around comfortably. One waiter working during our lunchtime visit was horrendously rude to other customers, shouting at the for leaving their table during their visit. The gentleman had a mask on and wasn’t doing anything dangerous. The same waiter also seemed to serve people who has just sat down before us. The food itself was ok, good sized portions and good value for money. The salad came with loads of slices of orange and handfuls of grapes, along with huge chunks of chicken and bacon. The burgers and ham egg and chips were large but enjoyed by our party. Overall a reasonable stop, but wouldn’t return

We spent 3 nights in Ingleton and had planned to eat in each of the 3 main pubs. We started with the Wheatsheaf and after reading the terrible reviews of the 3 Horseshoes decided to come back to the Wheatsheaf on night 3 after a successful first visit. The pub itself is very spacious so social distancing is easy and all the staff we saw wore a mask at all times. On the first night we ordered a gammon steak, steak and mushroom pie and a sirloin steak. The portions were all huge and the quality very good. We ordered a medium steak but it came out closer to rare however it did not prove to be a problem for the kitchen to cook it a bit longer and they even topped up the chips and mushrooms. Our waitress Sophie was very attentive and all round it was a very enjoyable visit. The second visit 2 nights later was marginally less successful. The same steak and mushroom pie was ordered but in my opinion was a little heavy on mushrooms and less on the steak. My wife ordered the 5 bean chilli but it wasn’t the best, tasted like the beans had been cooked for hours. My son ordered a Mexican chicken burger which he enjoyed but found a little too spicy. Our waitress also went missing in action only to be found on the other side of the restaurant having a meeting about the Ingleton Christmas gala. Overall the best of the 2 pubs we visited, generally good food and service with huge portions.

A nice pub/restaurant not far from the centre of the village. I recommend that you go hungry as neither of us was able to finish our meals on either of the occasions we ate here. We enjoyed what we had but found the menu slightly limited (probably Covid related so perfectly understandable). Vegetarians and Vegans seem to be well catered for. One of the biggest assets of the place were the lovely young staff who looked after us so well.

My brother and I stayed here recently during our trip to Yorkshire to visit Bolton Abbey, Malham Cove, Ingleton Falls and the Three Peaks. The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting Ingleton, just a short stroll away, and also White Scar cave and one of the starting points for the Three Peaks walk. The hotel has a free car park, large beer garden and large comfortable rooms. The staff were a delight, and even went to the trouble of contacting me after leaving to advise that I had dropped my wallet in the car park, for which I am so very thankful. We had dinner during our stay and were treated to a proper Yorkshire sized portion, all washed down with delicious local ales, and a Black Sheep and Doom Bar to finish! If we are in the area again, we wouldn't hesitate to book at the Wheatsheaf again, and hopefully stay a little longer next time around. A big thanks to Darren and the team for making our stay so welcoming.

The main advantage of the Wheatsheaf is that it's open every day, whereas a lot of other eating places in the area are closed on Mondays and some also on Tuesdays. The staff were friendly and service prompt, however I was rather scunnered with the general scruffiness of the place, particularly the stickiness of the tables; the staff did wipe them when clearing up but they were still very icky, and our table also sported a couple of what appeared to be cigarette burn holes! The food wasn't of a terribly high standard or appearance. For main, we both had fish & chips (served on paper, hmm). The tartare sauce was really weird (apparently it was non-dairy?) and served in those wee Wilkin's jam jars, still with the jam labels on them, which was very off-putting. For pud I had brownie and the hubby had a chocoholic dessert which was rather sloppily presented. We didn't get napkins with our dessert and the cutlery had been laid on the sticky table which was a hygiene issue. Overall rather underwhelming and we felt it was poor value compared with other places we dined at during our holiday.

After doing the waterfall trail we decided to test the pub, it had many good reviews and it didn't disappoint! My husband and I shared the nacho platter and a portion of chips which was more than enough. It arrived promptly and was delicious, the chips were especially note worthy. We saw the size of the meals on other tables and were glad that we didn't order a meal each as it would of been too much. The staff did amazing as there were quite a lot of tables to be served and only two members of staff. Our server - Sophie greeted us with a smile, was friendly and very attentive. Probably the best service we've ever had. Nothing was too much for her even when she was almost running to serve everyone. Lovely food, very reasonably priced, brilliant local pint too. I don't usually write reviews, but our night at the Wheatsheaf was too good not to. Job well done. We will certainly come back.

We visited on a Monday to take advantage of the 'Eat out to help out' scheme. The food was ok but nothing special. Not worth the full price but ok value with 50% off. However, the drinks were ridiculously expensive, two single measures and coke cost approx £14!!! Far too expensive for what it is.

Good honest pub food, reasonably priced with friendly service. Can recommend the Nachos platter, Black and Blue beef burger and Mexican beef burger. Really enjoyed each of these and would happily have them again and again. During our 3 visits we only saw one member of staff twice, but their training and recruitment process must be exceptional as everyone was cheerful, friendly and chatty. Also dog friendly. Only negative would be that they didn't do a Sunday Roast

Visited with family. Sat outside the back as it was a lovely day. Quick service on the food and drinks all served to the tables The pie, burger and soup were all enjoyed. The kids meal however was disappointing. The pizza was a thick piece of bread with tomatoe purée and cheese slapped on. There was no way he’d eat that, nor would I. Other than that the food was great

I was disappointed with our experience at the wheatsheaf, I would like to think that the extreme limitation of gluten free options was due to them running a limited menu through the pandemic, but I'm not sure. The food was average pub grub, chips were great but the rest of my meal was barely warm. Covid restrictions are taken very seriously which was reassuring and made for a more relaxing experience.

We booked here, arrived on time,7.30,show to our table by a young lady ,no real welcome here. Drinks and food ordered,my wife had lasange,a sloopy mix, nothing like we had seen before,it looked like a flat yorkshire pud, with a salad SOAKED in what we thought was a cup full of balsamic .Never touched it. I ate the pie whih was tasty but not alot on the plate. The dineing room was barely occupied ,so we will not return.
