My wife and I spent a weekend in Ingleton and had our valentines meal at 'Masons Freehouse'. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere in the Masons Freehouse.
The food was absolutely delicious and the Landlady was so helpful and made us feel very welcome.
We went back the following night for a meal as well since we enjoyed it so much the night before.
Thank you for the great service and we will pop in again when we are back in the area.
Highly recommended...

Make a telephone booking and you will not be disappointed. You are welcomed at the door and shown to your
table and you receive attentive and friendly service throughout your visit in a relaxing ambiance.
There is a good range of beers, gins and other drinks but it is the sheer quality of the food that excels and the plate presentation. I recommend the Steak 'N' Ale Pie, Battered Haddock but in first place is the restaurant's Lamb Curry. For sweet my choice is the home made cheesecake with cream - just wonderful melting tastes!
There is also seating outside and if there is no "room at the Inn" there is a food & ale takeaway service.
Enjoy your visit.

The Masons has become a firm favourite and regular of ours when caravanning locally. It has everything. Great food, a good selection of beers and wines and the service is excellent. Staff always friendly and helpful. Good social distancing and sanitiser measures in place to make you feel safe.

We'd had a very long day in lake district and was desperate to find a place to eat for my little girl and wife before we went back to our very poor hotel further down the road. I hadn't booked and called in on the of chance there maybe availability.
Wow did we strike gold. the staff were really attentive and could not do enough for us. the beer was cold, the food was hot and delicious and the waiting staff paid so much attention to my little girl she loved it.
We didn't want to leave. Will defo be back here and hopefully stay a few nights too.
Lightning and thunder ice cream with chocolate went down a treat :-)

Lovely staff who are nice and friendly. The food is great. Dog friendly- which is always a plus.
We originally were sat in the bar area and it was too loud for my Dad who uses hearing aids, (wouldn’t have been an issue otherwise and definitely not a negative) and we were moved with no problem at all to a quieter part of the restaurant.
Three of the party had fish and chips portions were good sizes and fish was well cooked and tasty, I am told!
I had a goats cheese salad which was delicious.
We weren’t rushed and staff couldn’t do enough for us. Will be back again for another visit when we are in Ingleton again

Booked here for Sunday Lunch. Was disappointed when we got there for our booking to be told they start doing Sunday Roasts again in autumn. So we ordered steak and ale pie and the salmon, lemon and dill. Both were nice but a bit steep at £13 each. The choice was with chips or new potatoes and garden peas or mushy peas with the pie. The salmon was with chips or new potatoes and salad or garden peas. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

When it comes to service and food this little place deserves a Gold Star.
Over a period of five years we have taken our caravan to Ingleton, from south Cheshire just so we can eat at the Masons. This September was our fourth visit and our wedding anniversary. Joanne and her wonderful colleagues did not let us down.
Simply wonderful food and excellently chosen beers to complement the meal.
My honey glazed chicken with sweet chilli was to die for.
Even the most picky of people would have difficulty finding a complaint here.
Thank you Joanne. You know that we will be back.

It is an absolutely brilliant pub which serves superb beers, wines and gins (all I drink really!) to accompany great food. The staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming and happy to recommend different drinks for different people. The food is fantastic. They don't have a massive menu so that they can focus on what they do - and they do it well. The price is starting to creep up a bit now and it is just getting to the point where it can only be used as a real treat, but well worth it when you go - totally brilliant.

A friend and I were staying very close to The Masons, whilst on a short walking holiday in the area. Booked for supper on the Thursday, sort of on the strength that Thursday night was "steak night" and they were doing a great deal for two people! Sadly, though, there were no steaks available on the menu (perhaps their website needs updating and this information removed), but we had a very nice meal anyway. I had a salmon salad (from the specials board (with the Catalan prawns to start), but wasn't keen on the sweet chilli sauce something or other which was on the piece of salmon. But apart from that it was delicious. Nice atmosphere in the pub and we enjoyed a pint of local beer with our meal (the wine list was rather expensive) , Strangely, the pub was full of people when we arrived at 6.30 pm, but had emptied out by around 8.30 pm, and we were the last to leave at about that time. I think we'd definitely go again if we are in the area again.

During our week in Ingleton we ate here three times. The food was excellent, we had a couple of curries, a bean cassoulet, a chicken dish and a pork dish, couldn't pick a favourite.
A fine selection of ales, lagers and ciders.
A very comfortable dining area, there is also a covered terrace and outdoor seating, The staff were very welcoming and friendly, would highly reccomend.

We ate here on a previous visit in 2017. It is still excellent and we can fully recommend. Staff are friendly and efficient. Fish and chips were cooked to perfection and our son had home made fish pie which he thoroughly enjoyed. Nice dessert as well.

The place was buzzing when we arrived however we managed to get a table. The staff were young and very friendly; the service was rather slow however we were on holiday and in no rush.
I had sausages and mash for main and the hubby had a curry. We were pretty full up however I decided to have ice cream for pud and was goggle-eyed at the very generously sized three scoop portion when it arrived; in fact the hubby had to dive in to help me finish it!
The food was very reasonably priced (by far the best value meal of our holiday), so much so that when we got the bill the hubby thought something had been missed off!

We ate here twice during our recent visit to Ingleton and each time the meals were outstanding. The beer battered haddock was gorgeous and the “secret family recipe” Rogan Josh was one of the best curries I have ever eaten. Their claim of all of the flavour without the heat was absolutely spot on. A big shout out also to the young serving staff who were rushed off their feet but were still friendly and courteous and worked with a big smile on their faces.
