The Athenian House promises an amazing gastronomic experience, in an original Santorini cave house, with Athenian vintage decoration, on one the most breathtaking sunset spots on the Caldera. In 2020, after four very successful seasons, the restaurant continues its multi-awarded journey, with dishes created by world acclaimed Greek chefs, inspired by local cuisine, where sun, salt and mediterranean ingredients mingle into a combination of tastes and flavors. The menu is supremely complemented by exclusive cocktails and exquisite Greek wines, including the best labels of local and international varieties from insular, continental & northern Greece. Selected wine flights offer an amazing wine

This is a must when you go to Santorini. The food is amazing. The service can not be faulted. The taster menu was out of this world and the wine flight complimented the menu perfectly. Perfect food in the perfect setting.
We booked upon a recommendation and agree the location is stunning however after paying a 100€ deposit we still had a large bill which we felt didn’t quite match up with the food! It was a shame as service brilliant and everything else was great...but to us not worth the price!More
The area of the Athenian House is supernatural for couples that might want to appreciate the nightfall from perhaps the most elevated point in Santorini.
The café was commending 5 years and they had set menu alternatives.
The administration was cordial and each dish was...clarified by the group just as the wines on the wine sampling choices. Our preferred ones were the shrimp linguini, the customary fava and the baklava.
Aside from the delicious alternatives and the perspectives, we truly delighted in the instrumental music on the foundation as it mixed impeccably with the Athenian topic.

We tried the 'favourites' set menu for dinner. The Athenian House has an excellent location and lovely menu. A lovely place to watch the sunset. We enjoyed all of the courses on the menu so have no complaints in this regard but felt that the...service was a little cold. The manager spoke to guests and he was delightful and very chatty but we felt the servers were not particularly personable and were quite slow to respond to requests e.g. drinks orders and request for bill.More
During our holiday to Santorini, it was rather hard to find good quality food at acceptable prices. We were recommended The Athenian House which has a fantastic setting for sunset views, and decided to give one of its two fine-dining set menus (five courses for...€85/ seven for €120) a go. We are prepared to pay for very good food, but the food and service provided at The Athenian House simply is not worth the money.
The waiting staff were all very standard waiting staff, not particularly friendly, and completely unaware of what fine dining service should amount to. Bread was served without any butter or olive oil (which was provided when requested). Wines and waters were rarely topped up. The meal felt entirely rushed, as if the food was just being plated and sent out on a conveyor belt.
As to the food itself, it wasn’t all bad, the Greek Salad was very nice, the Fava Bean starter has some good flavours, and the Shrimp Linguini was surprisingly fragrant - but nothing was standout. And the other dishes I had, and those my partner chose, were disappointing, uninspired, and in some case really quite odd - the Baklava dessert (at the point where some redemption could be returned) has been bastardised into some deconstructed form involving peanut butter and chocolate spread and not in a good way... The cheapest bottle of wine on the menu is also a princely €47. Now whilst this wouldn’t be out of keeping with the food prices, the food quality just didn’t marry-up with the food prices and so the entire evening felt like an organised shake-down.
Whilst there were some good plates, in the main this is going to disappoint, it seems there is an inexperienced kitchen and staff body, playing at fine dining.More
Where do I start, the view is incredible - especially if you book a table at sunset. The staff were so friendly And knowledgable and it was such a nice touch that the owner came round and personally chatted with everyone. They also cater extremely...well for food intolerances / vegans. It‘a rare that as a vegan you have options of food but that was the case here. I can’t recommend this restaurant more, everything was perfect and really reasonably priced for what you get.More
Despite being difficult with food, I couldn't resist to all those delicacies. Very professional staff, extremely cautious and following strictly all the covid measures. They even had disposable menus. All the dishes were so delicious and the atmosphere was simply amazing. Definitely worth paying a...visit!More
We came here on our final night in Santorini and were given a beautiful table overlooking the Caldera and the incredible sunset. It's a set menu of their top dishes - all were delicious - especially the black ink pasta. They were also very helpful...with the wine. We were left very satisfied and not overly full. The view was just amazing!!

The location of the Athenian House is magical for couples that would like to enjoy the sunset from one of the highest points in Santorini.
The restaurant was celebrating 5 years and they had set menu options.
The service was very friendly and every dish...was explained by the team as well as the wines on the wine tasting options. Our favourite ones were the shrimp linguini, the traditional fava and the baklava.
Apart from the tasty options and the views, we really enjoyed the instrumental music on the background as it blended perfectly with the Athenian theme.
