Where do I start to write a review about this incredible place that touts two international chefs who's accolades include inter alia, 3 Michelin stars. The food is simply amazing - my best description would be classic Greek cuisine with a French influence. Similarly they...also have an intense focus on impeccable guest service. The atmosphere cannot be beat; vintage decor, on one the most breathtaking sunset spots on the Santorini Caldera, overlooking the sea. This place is not to be missed!More

The service was absolutely excellent, had a great vegetarian option and the view is lovely. And, “Daniel” I will call him the “closer” came over to the table when we were near done and got us a couple after dinner drinks (shots) which were wonderful...considering I never ever have anything but wine. He was very convincing and ended with one with cucumber and water and a mild liquor in it. It was delicious. His humor and personality made it a pleasurable ending to our evening. The Waite staff was all wonderful and provided a blanket as the breeze got chilly. They explained every course and what we were having. Definitely a top notch restaurant. It is very expensive but it is fun to treat yourself when you are on vacation.More

Very cute atmosphere- incredible views, especially at sunset, would definitely recommend. The food was delicious and we were full at the end. Also had some great drink options.I know some people mentioned. price- it is important to keep in mind this is a fine dining...experience and well worth it if that is what you are hoping for. Also, everywhere "nice" in Santorini is pretty expensive to eat, so this is worth it given the experience of tasting creative dishes and the service you get. Also, I was cold at dinner and I think one of the waitresses noticed and she asked me if I wanted a blanket. I took it and I was so cozy the rest of dinner. That was pretty great for a restaurant to consider guests and all their needs. Waiters & waitresses are super attentive, and we especially want to thank and shout out Tolis for a very positive experience! He made sure we had a great dinner and even gave us some Greek spirits to try afterward which was very nice. :)More

This was the best “fancy” dinner of our stay in Santorini. Fine dining service and fantastic, innovative food in the village of Imerovigli. The patio and interior are simply and beautifully decorated. We were there after dark, but it looked as though the sunset view...must be just perfect. Even the music selection was well suited to the surroundings, and helped to set the mood of our meal. Three tasting menus are offered. We chose the Origins option, which is plant-based. (We’d had an enormous, late lunch at Metaxi Mas and didn’t think we had room for a heavier meal.) The meal began with a couple of different delicious breads and spreads, and a top quality olive oil, as well as a bowl of their house made hummus. We then enjoyed three courses of appetizers that had so many elements and flavors, we could have eaten each one of them as complete meal. But then we chose one of each of the entrees – I had the Dolma, which was kind of an homage to the traditional dolmas we all know and love, but with a few interesting twists! My husband had the pasta. Being of Italian heritage, I’m always intrigued by pasta dishes from other cultures. so I had to try it myself. Well, this dish was as good as any pasta I’ve ever had, anywhere! In fact, if we ever get to return to Athenian house, it would probably be one of the two dishes I’d most be looking forward to eating again. The other would definitely be the baklava, which is their signature dessert. Baklava is one of my very favorite desserts, so when the owner warned that it would not be what I’d expect, I was initially disappointed. But then she said it was made with chocolate and peanut buttter… I didn’t think there was anything that could be done to improve on baklava, but let me tell you – they have elevated this dish to a heavenly level. It’s not to be missed!! To top our already perfect meal off, we were served the most delightful shots of a house made cucumber liqueur. I’ve been on a mission to find something similar since we left Santorini, but it seems it doesn’t exist anywhere but Athenian House. I guess we’ll just have to go back for more!More

There was nothing wrong with the food at the Athenian House but it was food by numbers and fairly average - definitely style over substance. In addition, they get the basics so wrong. Our first dish was served before our drinks had even arrived. Our...second dish was served immediately after we finished our first - obviously all pre prepared and ready to do. I asked for a wine flight and was presented with white wine with lamb….had to order red separately. We had five different servers - no continuity and they didn’t really seem to know what was going on. The food itself was ok but lukewarm verging on cold. And the portions were tiny. Definitely not worth the hype. Not recommended.More

We had high expectations for this fine dining restaurant after all of the fantastic reviews we read but we were so disappointed with the food. They seem to care more about their plating/presentation than they do the taste of their food. The staff was very...nice and the view is beautiful. I would recommend Five Senses over the Athenian House though.More

My wife and I dined here tonight. We had such high expectations and we left profoundly disappointed. The reason we even gave a two star review is the location is spectacular and the staff were over the top friendly. As for the food, there is...really no way to sugar coat it, it was awful! The portions were tiny and candidly the food was simply bland. We live near Los Angeles and have dined at many fancy restaurants and for $337 which consisted of two dinners and one cocktail each, we left with such a foul taste in our mouths. Honestly we felt like we were fleeced and that may be our fault but we relied on the great reviews and chose this restaurant over many other available options. Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere.More

First of all, the service was the best I have had in traveling the world with friendliness, knowledge, attentive to details, and generosity. Noteworthy is Asidosia! You must ask if Asidosia is there as she was wonderful with anticipating our needs, friendly conversation, and gives...you the impression that she goes above and beyond to make your experience special. Daniel was also one of our primary servers and also was very friendly, a great mixologist, and one to ask for when we return. The menu was well thought out and each part was an experience of itself. I had the vegetarian and my wife had the sea bass selection. Chef needs a raise after that delivery!!! Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful!More

Went here for our first honeymoon dinner in Santorini and it did not disappoint! The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly (including our waitress Anastasia), and the tasting menu was delicious. We did two separate tasting menus and were amazed by the creativity of the...chef and the flavor of all the elements. Definitely visit while in Santorini!More

We had an amazing evening at The Athenian House. The views of the sunset are simply spectacular. Our family is vegetarian, and it was great they had a vegetarian set menu which we really enjoyed. The pistachio dessert and the baklava were so good! The...restaurant is expensive, but worth it as it is an evening you'll remember for the rest of your life!More

I am not one to leave trip advisor reviews but feel duty bound so that others with nut allergies do not have a more sinister outcome in the future. Firstly, aside from the above, I want to reiterate that the food overall was average at...best, as was the service. We were repeatedly brought the wrong dish/food and drinks meant for another table. We had around 5 different servers which is fine if you are at an establishment where the service is exemplary across the board. On this occasion, it was very impersonal, some servers were clearly far less experienced than others. I have had far between food and service at a tiny fraction of the price. I have a severe nut allergy. I informed various servers of this. I was advised on which tasting menu to choose on the basis that it had no nuts. Despite this, I was served 2 dishes with nuts in. The first, by chance I had the instinct to double check the contents and was subsequently told there were nuts and to avoid that aspect of the dish. On the second occasion I was unfortunately not so lucky and I became unwell within minutes. We left quickly and left our dessert so I could get home as soon as possible. I ended up vomiting violently on the way home and nearly had to go to hospital due to upper airway swelling. We contacted the restaurant to tell them this morning and the response was underwhelming to say the least. We were asked “what do you want us to do about this”. I must reiterate that for some, allergies result in life threatening anaphylaxis and it shouldn’t take this happening for the restaurant to recognise that allergies should be taken more seriously. Wish we hadn’t wasted our money.More
