My wife and i visited gevsi several times during our holiday in october and can honestly say each time our food was very good. What we found was so special not only the excellent food but the hosts tanya and her family were the perfect hosts.We...tried various meals and every one was so tasty and could not fault any one of them.We tried a good many other restaurants in the village but we always ended up gping back to gevsi,s.In our opinion if you like typical home made greek food you cannot go wrong by visiting gevsi,s.More

Our favourite restaurant in Piskopiano, we keep returning for the food and hosts. Tanya and Lucy are fabulous hosts to this small traditional family taverna. The food is amazing, and the portions plentiful. The house wine is also lovely, the raki is plentiful and homemade!...Tanya really makes this place , she is warm friendly and a wonderful host, but the whole family is what makes it special as well as the great food.More

Small authentic family run restaurant offering good food and service at a great price. Think it was €23 for two fish meals including starters/ bread , great value. Tables near the road seemed to be smokers so if you don’t want to do/ experience that,...sit further inside as we did. Recommended.More

Authentic, family run taverna with fabulous food and service. We ate in gevsi a few times on our holiday and loved it. The restaurant is owned and run by a husband, wife and daughter, they are the loveliest people and extremely hard working, always had...a smile or wave even if just walking past. This was the first restaurant we visited on our holiday and also the last one we went to before coming home, can't wait to return next yearMore

We visited Gevsi many times during our 2 weeks and were there when the 2 complainants below were there. I am sure Tanya was just trying to encourage them to try different things. Perhaps their approach was not the best as they certainly made sure...we knew about the stifado situation and we hadnt even spoken to them. We, as always, enjoyed our meals there. The stifado, kleftiko, seam bream platter for 2 and stifado platter for 2 are particularly good. We have been coming here for many years and the number of repeat customers tells you alot about the place. It is excellent value too. We often just pop in for a beer and water or wine or 2 late evening wines and are welcomed just as much as diners. Thankyou for all the grapes with the drinks Tanya.More

Lovely Taverna with a lady with a warm welcome and big smile. Simple authentic greek food with the Greek hospitality you would expect, even though it was busy and they explained there might be a wait , everything was perfect. Didn't wait any longer than...anywhere else to be honest and the food was lovely. Waved and smiled every day after when we passed. A little gem of a place.More

We visited this restaurant as it looked inviting and was fairly busy. As we looked at the menu outside, the owner came to us and began to entice us in, boasting that they did the best Stifado in town and indeed would "give us a...million pounds if we could find better somewhere else". On the strength of this we decided we would eat here. We were told where to sit, at the front, presumably so the restaurant appeared busy. We were handed the menus, together with an additional "set menu" for two, which included stifado amongst other dishes. We decided we would both like the stifado and proceeded to order these from the owner. She then told us one of us should try something different, she couldn't sell two stifado so early on in the evening (8 ish!) as they would run out. It was very awkward and my partner said that we would have the two stifados please. She did not look happy at this but went away with our order. We were duly served with two plates of (mostly onion) stifado, which was distinctly average in comparison with what we have eaten elsewhere in the village (although admittedly cheaper). It appeared we had been served onion stifado with a little beef, in order to eek out supplies for the evening. The rest of the meal passed without event, though unfortunately the damage was done and we continued to feel uncomfortable. A shame a this appears to have been an isolated incidence.More

Hello, thank you for the review. We do remember you of course but the events didn't happen as you describe. Firstly we don't need to boast about the food we serve as we have people all over praising the food that come again and again...More

Went in on the promise that it was the best Stifado in the village. We were then taken aback when we tried to order 2 stifados only to be told that only one of us should order a stifado as there would be none left...for later in the evening. After a Mexican standoff we were allowed to order two but this was done in a somewhat awkward and cold manner which made us both feel quite uncomfortable for the rest of the evening. The meal was average with considerably more onion than beef and we have had better elsewhere. To sum up an average meal but not a nice atmosphereMore

Hello, thank you for the review. I assure you one review would have been sufficient but I am inclined to respond. Mexican standoff? Please don't exaggerate to make a point. You were served two portions of wonderful stifado and if there was any suggestion from...More

One of our favourite places to eat , actually we enjoyed lunch and returned twice for dinner . Everything about this little gem is authentic, from the restaurant to the traditional Greek food . Tanya the owner is amazing as is her daughter , both...of whom strive to give you a warm , friendly and attentive experience in a small and intimate setting . The food is so tasty — try the beetroot salad and the moussaka is a delicious homemade must ! We absolutely loved our time here chatting to fellow customers and watching the world go by whilst enjoying a carafe of chilled local white wine . We will definitely be back and I’m sure Tanya would remember us !More

This is a lovely little family run restaurant serving genuinely tasty Greek food. The tzatziki was delicious and the moussaka was also very tasty. I also had bread, 500ml of wine and water. The bill came to less that €16 so very reasonable. The owner...and her daughter are friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you're staying in the villages.More
