Every summer we go to Arco to eat the duck rice at lunch on Wednesday, before or after the beach. It is a classic in our family with a chocolate mouse. You can not ask for more.

We stayed one week in the south of Portugal and many delicious meals but this place is special. Charming service (the young waiter spoke good English), lovely choice of their fresh and authentic kitchen. We had a small starter, a mixed salad, the rabbit, the...squid, with a huge portion of side dish (rice and fries), two pieces of the local tart, a bottle of white wine and two digestives (“fire water”) - all for € 28! Not to be missed :-)More
Typical and delicious food, delicious desert less than 10e per person. If you want to eat in Santiago de Cacem, do not hesitate
Excellent family run restaurant and a surprise as from the outside it does not look great especially as it is right next to a petrol station. We had monkfish and rice a very nice bottle of red wine and a excellent pudding. Recommended.
Situated by a petrol station - not what you’d expect. This was actually one of the better meals we had on our trip - and certainly the best value. The prawn / rice dish was very good - and make sure to ask for the...“Cristian Ronaldo” of deserts - they will know what you mean - it’s outstanding.More
Recomended by hotel A simple family restaurant with simple dishes. No creativity or special elaboration on food Simple and cheap meals. Doses generous.
Hearty meals at affordable prices. Don't expect to much from the service. They serve simple good food so if your looking for a posh plating and fine service try somewhere else. We had the grilled rabbit and it was really tasty. Portions are above average....The service was a tad slow but understandable as the place was packed. Lot of people around us order the seafood rice, the portions were humongous and they seemed to be enjoying it. The only advise I would give is that you keep an eye out for the place as it's not very visible from the road(it's right next to a gas station)More
The location vould not be worst... amd the deco inside could be a bit improved... vut the food was all very good and the prices very honest. Will go back!
Feels like entering the town's private little secret the way you always hope for when you're a tourist
We went on a Monday evening around 8.30pm and the place was full. We were offered a table outside and then moved inside which is much cosier. It's got a real local feel to it, although they did have an English menu which was helpful....This doesn't have the daily specials on it so worth checking them out (we had BBQ pork which was delicious). We were welcomed by a lovely lady and beside some friends locals who shared their post-dinner shot with us. We had the shrimp rice, which was really and came in a huge pot, and finished off with the chocolate mousse which is really caramel-ly. We were very happy with the meal and would definitely go again - for what you get (our entire bill including bread, cheese and wine came to €25!) this place is excellent. Well worth a visit.More
An extensive menu with local and common dishes. The Alentejo cod came with a piund of fish and breaded soup. Had supper here five times in a week; every time a delight.
Great food, pleasant and welcoming service, somehow a shabby interior (though one could argue it adds to the local charm), the desserts that definitely make up for whatever wasn't absolutely perfect in the build-up...
The place is always busy, so note that you will hace to wait for a while until a table is ready for you. The food is very good, made everyday at that moment in time. We had a "arroz de marisco", basically wet paella with...seafood, which was awesome... Maybe a bit salty. Other day We had pork, and was good in terms of quality and quantity. Desert are lovely. Procede are definitely low!!More
This is a simple place, with great food, not very expensive (you will note that in this part of the Alentejo restaurants are more expensive than, say, in Lisbon or in the Alto Alentejo but are still very affordable). We had arroz de tamboril and...it was great, fresh, tasty. The sangria is also good, I recommend baba de camelo as dessert. The place is busy, we went there without a reservation, but in 15min we had our table.More
Traditionel place. Many locals eat here. Big portions. Friendly service even though the waitress didn't speak to much english.
