About
Shirokiya Japan Village Walk offers customers a unique experience showcasing a traditional Japanese town reminiscent of old Kyoto. Highlighting traditional Japanese culture, the store offers a variety of Japanese food selections. Shirokiya Japan Village Walk consists of four main themes: Yataimura (quality food court and beer garden featuring $1 beers), Zeppin Plaza (shopping alleys), Omatsuri Hiroba (festival and event square) and Guardian Spirits Sanctuary (good luck gods). Through the years Shirokiya has become very much a part of the cultural community of Hawaii and we are very grateful for the show of support the people of Hawaii has given us during the changing times.

I’ve been to Japan before and this is as close to Japan in America as I’ve seen. The whole village is an experience. The food is AMAZING! I had chicken karaage curry, shrimp tempura, and spring rolls. I wish I had 3 stomachs! The stores...were also very representative of what you’d see in Japan. Cute stationary and accessories galore. I can’t wait to return and eat until my heart’s content.More

This is a great food court that will give you many options and choices of Asian food. It is in Ala Moana mall, but you will need to come back several times to enjoy so many choices. The prices are not so bad and there...are plenty or tables to eat. Enjoy!More

we cancelled trip we planned to japan but got a little taste of what we might have had in this place. My son who is a picky eater loved this. It is a food court but you can choose whatever you want from each vendor...and it arrives at your table hot and ready to eat. Came with daughter and son-in-law who are recent residents of hawaii and they recommended place. Try out bakery too for sweets. Until we actually make it to Japan this is a good substitute. Very roomy seating area with entertainment (while we were there).More

If you like Japanese food, you will surely find something you like here. The options are seemingly endless. We sampled a variety of vendors and all were delicious. It's on the lower level at Ala Moana.

My husband and I were recommend this location by a local while on vacation and we loved it! We didn’t try any of the food but enjoyed hanging out and drinking beer. By far the cheapest drinks we found in the area

A return visit after a year to see how this place has changed. Many new eating places so was excited to visit again. Tried the tanto miso ramen and their standard gyoza. The miso ramen broth was a bit spicy but lacked overall full body...- it would not be judged acceptable by a discriminating ramen customer. The traditional gyoza had a funny flavor - like sour cabbage - again it would not be deemed acceptable by gyoza eaters. The restaurant that boosted of having the best gyoza in Japan also was lacking in the quantity of filling and flavor. Definitely could not be considered anywhere close to being the best in Japan. Overall very disappointed with the service quality as well as the quality of the food. Anxious to try other eateries in the village on another day.More

Lots of choices of Japanese food vendors. Prices are decent. Mostly ramen and tempura along with vendors for tapioca drinks and lemonade. There is a section with many Japanese desserts. Food was good quality

Picture the Mall of America filled with again fast food and throngs of screaming people trying to talk over a Don Ho imitator. If that's what you're in to....go for it.

Found this new restaurant, Tokyo Ramen to dine for dinner. They had their own large eating area for their customers which was really nice. We went up to the cashier to order and pay for our 2 Beef Rib Eye Sukiyaki's. One of the other...servers came out of the kitchen with one of the hotpot even on top of the burners ready to cook on the table, carrying it to a table; the second one came in couple minutes too. The hotpot dish included Shiitake and Enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, green onions, rice noodles. Included was a bowl of white rice and two types of Japanese pickles with the platter of Rib Eye Beef slices. Tada, and it only costs $18. What a deal! We didn't have to walk across in the rain to Ichiriki, and it resembled the same but I do think it tasted much better. They do serve other Sukiyaki dishes, variety of Ramen, and delicious steak entrees to choose from. What a great place, saw many couples, families, single eaters, and even date nighters. Found an excellent new place, and we'll be back again!More

This is an area that opened earlier this year - more of a gourmet take on the fast food hall. They have several different gourmet venues in this are aof the village - one being sushi/seafood, Sukiyaki, Ramen, and so on. We tried the Sukiyaki...and the sushi and both were very good. You order at each counter and then they bring your food out to your table. My Sukiyaki was EXCELLENT ($18) - nice tender thinly sliced beef and we took home 1/2 because I couldn't finish it. Hubby's Saba Miso Teishoku 9$12.99)was also excellent! He also ordered nigiri - it was OK could have been better though. We have had the tempura, ramen, curry at other stands in the past but this new gourmet court is a better place to have your meal.More

We had seafood and beef nabe (hot pot) Beer is available at a reasonable price. The food is very affordable. If you...can't find something to eat. You're not hungry. We came here for dinner one night on our vacation and it did not disappoint. We went to a ramen kiosk and had garlic pork ramen which was absolutely delicious. They we finished with dessert including green tea tiramisu, mango cheesecake and pumpkin mochi. We...also tried bubble tea which was not good so would not recommend that. Otherwise we enjoyed the karaoke entertainment and the lively atmosphere.More

If you are a lover of all Japanese food, you MUST visit this hidden gem inside the Ala Moana Shopping center. It is a large 'themed' venue featuring dozens of Japanese restaurants featuring different dishes: Soups, Sukiyaki, Noodles, Sushi, Musubi, many under $15. And its...like IKEA: a maze of Mom and Pop restaurants that serve every form of Japanese food under the sun. Prices are the same all day long (and do not go up or down for lunch/dinner). Free parking in the mall, and there are many choices for adults and kids wanting lunch or dinner. Numerous bus routes from Waikiki serve this huge mall, and its a 15 minute ride over! We ate there twice and had very fresh, delicious food and it was a HOOT walking around attempting to figure out 'where' and 'what' we were going to eat. It is literally like an IKEA of Japanese food...and hard to find an empty table due to its popularity. We suggest two trips. One for lunch and the other for dinner, so you can sample some of the great items each of these places has. The other plus is the large Foodland grocery store close by...where you can buy groceries for your condo/hotel/apt. and turn one trip into a food run. Bring your own bag to avoid the 15 cent bag fee!More
