Wish I had read previous reviews...ordered the Pad Thai and yes they use a tomato base. What! Ground peanuts had no taste, not many veggies or bean sprouts. Too many noodles which were heavy, not light and glistening. Partner had Pepper Chicken. Lots of coarse pepper, but swimming in a sweet sauce. Yuk. Went for lunch and they said only... More

Called for take-out. Ordered coffee chicken with rice (rice is extra - does not come with order - really?) and asked for 1/2 order of spicy green beans. Was informed they do not do 1/2 orders. Said they had been in business for 21 years doing it that way - they would take my suggestion of doing 1/2 orders but... More

Everything was fine, except the food was horrible. I had the Pad Thai. It was made with tomato sauce. TOMATO SAUCE!!! You've got to be kidding me. My wife had lettuce wraps. They were OK, but nothing special. I just can't get over the Pad Thai. Waiter informed me that they do different flavors in the restaurant. Different is good,... More

Chow's is a darn good Chinese restaurant in Santa Fe. Four of us went for dinner and we each picked an entree. You can't go wrong with the Dragon Sesame - sweet sesame glaze with your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or tofu - always a winner. Next we had the duck special, and I have to say it was... More

Excellent flavors and spiciness at reasonable prices...just avoid typical Chinese-bland offerings and you won't be disappointed

Vietnamese Rolls - vegetarian and a nice idea, but the peanut butter wasabi sauce is the worst excuse for a dipping sauce I may have ever had. Green Beans with Tofu - this dish could have been a classic favorite, but the tofu was drenched in oil as were the green beans, nothing to recommend here. Tried a version of... More

We spotted this in our AAA guidebook, and with the help of our GPS, we drive to it with the help of our GPS. While it wasn't listed, only the one in Albuquerque, we typed in the address. Our waiter treated us like special friends, and we ordered the Chicken Noodle soup for my husband and egg drop soup for... More

There are very few Chinese restaurants in Santa Fe. Chow's is certainly among the top two in quality. The food is very good, the atmosphere is attractive, the service is either friendly or not - depending on who you get. It's a plus that they use healthy ingredients and don't add MSG.

I heard that Chows was the best in Santa Fe. It turned out to be a disappointment. The food came out tepid, the duck had Ben cooked over a number of times. I service was fine...
