Went into the store to get some coffee. Found so much more. The coffee was excellent. Will stop by next time I am downtown

I found this place during a random walk in the downtown area. As a grocery store it is well stocked with many essentials. As a cafe/deli, you couldn't ask for more. Good coffee, sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc. Service is also great and the ambience rather...cozy, although if it were up to me I would pipe in some smooth jazz music in the background for a finishing touch. That said, I'll be coming back here a lot.More
Stumbled across this gem as we walked back to the hotel. We had a long day and just wanted a quick bite to eat. (Restaurants in the Riverwalk had an hour to 90 minute wait.). Prices were kinda high, it considering we are downtown, I...assume they are comparable. We had hot panini style sandwiches and my son had a slice of pizza. All were very good. Besides the hot sandwiches, they offered cold sandwiches, already prepared, snacks, chips, candy, prepared foods like pasta salad, quinoa salad and tabouli, and a huge selection of drinks and wine. They also have a coffee bar. Gem of a store!More
a good little downtown place for the person who can't get a decent snack at their hotel or forgot their toothbrush.
I'm at the Embassy Suites. Great hotel. However, can't find herbal tea here (so odd). I wandered across the street for some herbal tea and grabbed a muffin while I was there. Adorable coffee/tea shop and small grocer with healthy and gourmet options. I ended...up back there in the evening to buy a box of tea for my hotel room. A great stop for a beverage, nosh, lunch/snacks for the day, etc.More
Absolutely the coolest grocer. Loved everything about it. Great wine selection. Great atmosphere. Great employees. Great location.
We pay for convenience in many ways. Here, we pay high prices because there are few sources for these items right downtown. So an avocado costs $2.50 and a banana $1.50. Bars of chocolate, cans of soup, wine, chips. They seemed quite busy, so I...guess it works. I came for coffee, which I found t be excellent. I sat at the counter looking out the front window at Houston Street. One block further down Houston in one direction is Rosella coffee. A block in the other direction there are two coffeehouses at the intersection, and a couple of blocks further, yet another. So coffee isn’t hard to find. But a convenience store with upscale items . . . that stands out, as long as cost is no barrier.More
